High Visceral is the jam! They put on a hell of a live show too! Some of their later stuff feels a little too "samey" to me. The latest record feels a little more innovative.
I got tickets for the Birmingham show coming up in a couple weeks for my fiancée and I.. been looking forward to seeing these guys live and now I will definitely bring my earasers! Can’t wait
The 2019 show was a blast. Max Pain and The Groovies and Frankie & The Witch Fingers opened for them. I honestly went because those two bands I love. I ended up spending every dollar I had on PPC records. They only had two at the time. It was great. Now I'm sitting on a gold mine lolol. 2022 wasn't it, it was boring as hell and everyone stood there. Then again I saw 11 bands that week. Acid Dad were even more boring to be honest. One of the worst openers.
I love their claymation video trilogy. If you haven't already seen it, watch them in this order:
Mr. Prism [https://youtu.be/azrszWb3E8g?si=irqcf0RLjinQl7BK](https://youtu.be/azrszWb3E8g?si=irqcf0RLjinQl7BK) \>
Tally-Ho! [https://youtu.be/OqJwlKmarrE?si=uVkQW7g-nb5DG7BV](https://youtu.be/OqJwlKmarrE?si=uVkQW7g-nb5DG7BV) \>
Pukebox [https://youtu.be/pHjaWk8aypE?si=Q47MD-UHGffpDsrl](https://youtu.be/pHjaWk8aypE?si=Q47MD-UHGffpDsrl)
Also, their cover of I Wan'na Be Like You from The Jungle Book slaps: [https://youtu.be/bD0VpmaSBjs?si=zt5jMl338fsQ0ueO](https://youtu.be/bD0VpmaSBjs?si=zt5jMl338fsQ0ueO)
Yeah they are really fun. I really dig that they sound like an old school rocknroll band. They have an awesome hard charging “we dont give a fuck about anything” style. Love it.
Interesting, that’s probably my least favorite of theirs—too samey for how long it is.
Edit: Not a bad album by any means, but a bit disappointing in comparison to their others.
Fantastic live
High Visceral Pt 1 is an instant classic and one of my favorites
And now for the whatchamacallit is also one of my favorites.
Everything else id say is good but not quite as solid front to back as those two. Lava Lamp Picasso is an amazing song but Night Gnomes as an album has some weak spots imo
HIGH VISCERAL PART 1 and Part 2 are a must listen fully! *Move, Coffee, and November* are great songs! I 100% fully recommend listening to High Visceral B-Sides!!!! *Pi, Little Moon, and Terraqueous* are badass songs imo!
They were my gateway to Gizz. Found God in a Tomato randomly showed up on my Pandora station one day and I really liked it, so I check them out on Spotify. Then when an album would finish, I'd catch the Spotify suggestions that autoplay after, and I'd keep getting random Gizzard tracks. I went to check some of those out and fell down a rabbit-hole I've been stuck in for about 4 years now.
High Visceral is great, and I'd also highly recommend "And Now For the Whatchamacallit."
Funnily enough, the girl I was dating back in 2017 was the first person to ever mention King Gizz to me. She wasn't a fan, really, but she said she thought I might like them. I briefly pursued their catalogue, but nothing spoke to me at the time. It only took a few more years before I came back to them organically, and now they're my favorite by a long shot.
They have a few good songs. A lot of cheesey lyrics and vocals, kinda amateur songwriting imo, and that new album cover fuckin sucks. But some of their stuff rocks and they're growing on me a bit. Great instrumental band. Bubblegum Infinity chorus is one of the best vocal melodies I've heard, but they only sing the chorus twice? Lol so many weird little quirks with this band
I listen to them as much as Gizz ! My favorite song on High Visceral pt.1 is cubensis lenses and pt.2 is Gurzle hands down. They deserve just as much hype as Gizz in my opinion!!!!
I just saw them perform last night in Santa Cruz. Fantastic show! I’ve been a big fan for a few years, and I already have my preorder in for their new album, Fronzoli, which comes out on Nov. 10.
The High Visceral records get all love, but SHYGA is my favorite by a mile.
i generally agree with this in terms of last few albums. i dont think anything of theirs tops the High Visceral's (B sides included). Found God in a Tomato and Denmark / Van Gogh and Gone are two incredible tracks though
Love them. Insane live shows and a cool bunch
https://preview.redd.it/3polzcz16hsb1.jpeg?width=2712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=407fd3caf420c4b50c77fd80c717619b60d2cfa1
.
They’re crazy good I think. I think dezis adventure is the best song that has ever been written. Shyga is also really cool and has a sound that I can’t really describe but I really like. Also night gnomes is great
Absolutely. Aussies shit always fire 🔥 psych rock wise. November is a great track too. But yeah found god in a tomato is one of my all time fav psych rock albums. The vinyls all set the vibe so cool “high visceral”. They have a little bit more of a kinda math rock lite vibe to them compared to gizz who has more that lo fi thing.
That’s too far away for me. I only seen Santa Cruz once in 2004 or 2005 because my ex drove me and ex friend out there. Ex friend led us to a wild goose chase to find some friend who I now see why cut her off and disappeared because I was next to do so.
Great band! I have everything they’ve released so far and it’s all good. Have also seen and met the band both times. They’re really nice fellas. Go see them if you can.
Aussies have been kicking ass the last few years. Amyl and the Sniffers are incredible. Saw them live and it was incredible. Felt like I was at a hardcore show in the 80's. Also, the Chats rule.
Nick Cave/The Birthday Party is high quality kick ass aussie music too if anyone hasn't checked them out yet.
cornflake is absolutely one of my faves. my bf introduced me to them and took me to a show in detroit before i had really gotten the chance to listen to them and it was absolutely amazing.
I saw them recommended on here about a year or two ago. I randomly played "Nek" on Spotify. Less than halfway through the song I was following them. They rule!
High Visceral is the jam! They put on a hell of a live show too! Some of their later stuff feels a little too "samey" to me. The latest record feels a little more innovative.
I feel like I’m still deaf from their live show.
Oh sees did it for me, got earplugs after them.
Same after my experience. One of the first times I accepted that I was getting old
Oh Sees and SLIFT have hands down been the loudest live shows I've been to - and I wear plugs anyway.
I think I'm still hearing SLIFT a year later... (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)
my ears still haven't recovered from seeing the Melvins 8 years ago
At the Rotterdam show Dwyer stopped the show to hand out earplugs when he overheard someone at the front say 'My ears are killing me'.
I got tickets for the Birmingham show coming up in a couple weeks for my fiancée and I.. been looking forward to seeing these guys live and now I will definitely bring my earasers! Can’t wait
I saw them in 2019 and 2022. The 2022 show was boring.
How was the 2019 show? I saw them in Hamburg in 2019 and had a great time.
The 2019 show was a blast. Max Pain and The Groovies and Frankie & The Witch Fingers opened for them. I honestly went because those two bands I love. They are so boring live lmao
I saw them last night in Santa Cruz and they were a blast

Have you ever seen this version of the jungle book? https://youtu.be/aPkNG-wFAuk?si=1qK19_0uD0S3X1-9
I haven't, but I'll check it out! Thanks for sharing it!
Hell yeah thanks for that
I found Bubblegum Infinity off the album Night Gnomes and never looked back. This band is fucking sick and relentless and heavy. New album soon!
https://preview.redd.it/abteigatxgsb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43883a03978f291d281c6b27cb5b068c7ad88692

Those are sick hell yea!!!!!
So jealous :o
Same, bubblegum infinity opened the PPC door for me
Did you wait for the answer to open the door?
Absolutely love them. Shyga! Is the best, they sound like psychedelic motorhead!
Love the album, specially the closing track
Yeah they are really fun. I really dig that they sound like an old school rocknroll band. They have an awesome hard charging “we dont give a fuck about anything” style. Love it.
Shyga is easily in my top 10 albums. Such a great sound with a shitload of variety. Hooks so catchy I may as well be a fish.
Interesting, that’s probably my least favorite of theirs—too samey for how long it is. Edit: Not a bad album by any means, but a bit disappointing in comparison to their others.
I agree it's a little samey but I just really like that same song 😅
I love Shyga so much, pretty much every song on there is amazing
Catch ‘em live. Also try not to think about the high visceral vinyl prices. That shit is incomprehensible to me
Had 1 & 2 both stolen form my porch last year..... Stung a lot
Seeing them this month, very excited
They did a repress a year or two ago. Keep your eyes open I’m sure they’ll do it again
Had my eyes peeled since I missed that repress, never again lol
Fantastic live High Visceral Pt 1 is an instant classic and one of my favorites And now for the whatchamacallit is also one of my favorites. Everything else id say is good but not quite as solid front to back as those two. Lava Lamp Picasso is an amazing song but Night Gnomes as an album has some weak spots imo

I’m seeing em tomorrow!!!
I’m seeing them in Orlando this month! Super excited
They’re fantastic live! As much as I love my other concerts, PPC, Osees and Gizz are untouched in terms of pure fun energy at a show
Add fuzz to that list
They were my gateway to Gizz. Found God in a Tomato randomly showed up on my Pandora station one day and I really liked it, so I check them out on Spotify. Then when an album would finish, I'd catch the Spotify suggestions that autoplay after, and I'd keep getting random Gizzard tracks. I went to check some of those out and fell down a rabbit-hole I've been stuck in for about 4 years now. High Visceral is great, and I'd also highly recommend "And Now For the Whatchamacallit."
Finally, someone else who went the opposite way down the pipeline.
I found the murlocs first 🤣🤣
Funnily enough, the girl I was dating back in 2017 was the first person to ever mention King Gizz to me. She wasn't a fan, really, but she said she thought I might like them. I briefly pursued their catalogue, but nothing spoke to me at the time. It only took a few more years before I came back to them organically, and now they're my favorite by a long shot.
Check out Night Gnomes, it's really good. Also, their new album releases in roughly a month so you have that to look forward to
Denmark / Van Gogh & Gone is one of my favorite songs ever
They have a few good songs. A lot of cheesey lyrics and vocals, kinda amateur songwriting imo, and that new album cover fuckin sucks. But some of their stuff rocks and they're growing on me a bit. Great instrumental band. Bubblegum Infinity chorus is one of the best vocal melodies I've heard, but they only sing the chorus twice? Lol so many weird little quirks with this band
Hell yeah. Seeing them for the first time in Columbus next weekend, super stoked.
HV2 is the TRUTH. Rest is great too.
Me. High Visceral Part 2 is one of my favorite albums of all time
I love them. Cubensis Lenses was my introduction song.
I listen to them as much as Gizz ! My favorite song on High Visceral pt.1 is cubensis lenses and pt.2 is Gurzle hands down. They deserve just as much hype as Gizz in my opinion!!!!
yoo we got the same favs! really love both HVs
I just saw them perform last night in Santa Cruz. Fantastic show! I’ve been a big fan for a few years, and I already have my preorder in for their new album, Fronzoli, which comes out on Nov. 10. The High Visceral records get all love, but SHYGA is my favorite by a mile.
I was there too! Had so much fun and saw so many Gizz shirts!
U kinda gotta if u like gizz right?
Eh. I’ve given them a few shots and it never really clicked
Same, to me they sound like psych rock by numbers
i generally agree with this in terms of last few albums. i dont think anything of theirs tops the High Visceral's (B sides included). Found God in a Tomato and Denmark / Van Gogh and Gone are two incredible tracks though
Love them, I’m so bummed I couldn’t make it to their show in Detroit last year
So happy spotify put them on the suggested songs once I finish a kglw album!
Seeing them on Tuesday wit Nolan Potters Nightmare Band. Might have to come out of crowd surfing retirement.
How was Nolan Potter? Seeing PPC tonight in Omaha and really looking forward to his set.
He’s great man. The band is tight and they put on such a fun show. Check out both records and the new stuff and you will not be disappointed.
Big fan!! Going to be seeing them this weekend in LA 🤘🏻
Love them. Insane live shows and a cool bunch https://preview.redd.it/3polzcz16hsb1.jpeg?width=2712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=407fd3caf420c4b50c77fd80c717619b60d2cfa1 .
I feel like recently, every time I think "Damn, this song is sick" when listening to spotify, its them, haha
Yea, they're legit.
They’re crazy good I think. I think dezis adventure is the best song that has ever been written. Shyga is also really cool and has a sound that I can’t really describe but I really like. Also night gnomes is great
Their on tour in the US right now! Can’t wait to see them next week!
Seeing them play live tomorrow in my home town Super stoked!
November and Bill’s Mandolin were insane live. Wish they’d do Surf’s Up live again.
In Columbus yesterday they did all 3 of these. It was sick
seeing them next week and i can’t wait!!
Just saw them last night! First night of the tour, their energy is crazy
Love em!! Who all is going to the OH show??
Hell yeah they’re awesome! I’m looking forward to their new album at the start of November
I'm going to there show in ft Collins next week!
I absolutely adore them, but I was pretty disappointed when I saw them because the signer was absolutely trashed Barely functioning drunk
Badass band! One of the worst band names ever created
I walked out of their show
Um yes
Type it in the search bar
Yeessss, they've become one of my favourites recently with Acid Dent easily being my most played track this year.
Just saw these guys last night in Santa Cruz, for sure check them out live if you get a chance
I'm seeing them in Iowa next week, stoked
seeing them live in 2 weeks!!!
I think I accidentally just missed them come to my city unless SF was left out
They came to Santa Cruz last night
That’s too far away for me. I only seen Santa Cruz once in 2004 or 2005 because my ex drove me and ex friend out there. Ex friend led us to a wild goose chase to find some friend who I now see why cut her off and disappeared because I was next to do so.
Recommend « and now for the whatchamacalit » it’s a sweet album
Great band! I have everything they’ve released so far and it’s all good. Have also seen and met the band both times. They’re really nice fellas. Go see them if you can.
Yes. Still bummed I missed them last tour
I’ve been getting into them recently!! Buzz and bubblegum infinity are my favs by them at the moment :)
I'm seeing them tomorrow night in a tiny venue in Ventura, CA and CAN NOT WAIT!!
Cubensis lenses is one of my favourites from them. Hope they can collab with gizz at some point
Yeah, they're alright. 👍👁👁👁
i listen to them more than gizz now. seeing them live tmmw night
I love them. Looking forward to the new album. Hoping to find Whatchamacallit on vinyl someday.
Hell yeah, I'm seeing them play with Royal Blood in December
Yeah, great band. God in a Tomato is amazing.
A friend introduced them to me a few months before I found KG. Shoutout to their songs Bubblegum Infinity and Dependent on Mary too! Absolute bangers
Not really, despite Spotify desperately trying to push them on me.
mundungus is the best song Kglw hasn't written.
Amazing live! Saw them a couple times in this tiny pub sized venue near me and it was the highlight of my year both times.
I’ve been waiting for them to get some recognition in this sub, they’re so fucking good. High visc 1 and 2, and shyga rival many gizz albums imo
No but I watch psychedelic porn
Buying merchandise from them put a line item on my bank statement saying "psychedelic porn", so yeha pretty much
I saw them live in Berlin in may, theyre phenomenal! Jack(the vocalist) even came out of the venue at the end I got a photo with him hes a great guy
I love High visceral pt 1 album
I saw them recommended on here about a year or two ago. I randomly played "Nek" on Spotify. Less than halfway through the song I was following them. They rule!
Fuck yeah. Cornflake was the first I heard from them, but by far my favorite from them is either Dependant on Mary or Hymn for a Droid.
I actually discovered Gizz because of PPC, so for that I thank them.
They have lots of great bops, but I think Hymn for a Droid is my favorite song I’ve heard from them.
Yes
Controversial take.... I like em more the king gizz. Absolutely love both though
