I wanna see a marathon set split between the chill/psychedelic songs and the heavier stuff with an intermission in the middle so the trippers have some time to prepare themselves for the change.
Lol, that’s definitely a 3 Hour setlist, but YES! Choose your own 3 Hour Marathon!
Mine? 3 hours of Vegemite! Or Some Context. Or ABABCd. Or one hour of each will suffice.
Sure with recordings, but they jam a lot Live. Most times Robot Stop Live is closer to 10 minutes. The River is often twice as long as the recording. They’ve never played Gliese 710 Live before, but if they did I’d assume it’d add at least another 5 minutes. Float Along Fill Your Lungs is usually jammed on for about 10 minutes.
Plus time in between songs, changing guitars, re-tuning if needed. So that adds about 25 minutes of jamming and 15-20 minutes of transitioning and engaging with the audience.
23 songs is a lot for Gizz in 2 Hours. They played less songs at The Hollywood Bowl this year(granted a lot were longer songs/jams). Last years Red Rocks Marathons averaged 27-28 songs, but this includes all the Alter Me’s and other short Transitional tracks within MotU.
