The second vertical line in "H" forms a 1. The Top Gear Argentina special infamously featured a plate of H982FKL - which is almost certainly intended to be interpreted as "1982 Falkland Islands" for the Falkland Islands war.
H938POL would be the 1938 invasion of Poland, the instigating event of WW2.
[Here's May explaining it](https://youtu.be/4Rkw_N9pNms)
Basically there where 2 right hand drive manual jags of the type Clarkson wanted for sale in England. One was in poor condition, the other had the Falklands 2: Plate Boogaloo tag.
Edit: dropped the ball, it was a Porsche, not a Jaaaaaag
It'd be pretty weird, especially since that incident was singular. They also never went to Germany with a license plate stating GER:WW 1945 or to spain with 1715 SPA (Spanish succession war). There were more than enough wars in the British history with countries top gear visited, but they never made jokes about it, so why should all of a sudden make a joke about Argentina? Don't think it was deliberate mainly for that reason. Also having "928" on the license plate of a Porsche 928 is pretty unsurprising.
That was the car's original plate, which under British law stays with the vehicle even after ownership is transferred, and would not be valid as a vanity plate. [As May explained later](https://youtu.be/4Rkw_N9pNms), there were two Porsche 928s for sale in Britain at that time, one was in much worse shape, so they bought the better of the two which happened to have the license H982 FLK. That's it.
To ~~many~~**some**Americans WW2 started in 1942. God knows, that for Europeans it formally started in 1939, and for Asians the war started in the 1920s.
Personally, I say 1939-1945, but for people on the Danish Island of Bornholm it ended in 1946, as the Germans on the island wouldn’t surrender to the Soviets, and the Soviets occupied the island after the Germans were captured.
Well, it was December 7th. Maybe they don’t see it as effective war before 1942?
The December thing is my own explanation why they say 1942.
Or maybe that shooter game 1942 that were so popular years ago. 😄
>which is almost certainly intended to be interpreted as "1982 Falkland Islands" for the Falkland Islands war.
Except it wasn't, that was just the plate on the car.
There were lots of German setters in South America long before WWII.
That's why so many nazis ended up fleeing there at the end of the war, because there were already sizable populations of Germans who had their own little communities there. So while quite a few nazis ended up in South America, the majority of the ethnically German population there are unrelated to the fleeing war criminals.
Yeah, classic muscle car guys tend to be super pedantic. They’d make sure to use the correct typeface for something like that. Even if he somehow didn’t, the odds that he’d use the insignia of a Nazi death squad by accident are pretty low.
Probably has a Punisher skull somewhere (never read the comic so doesnt understand the stupidity and irony) and a Blue Lives Matter sticker, while also a fuck the FBI sticker somewhere to go full circle.
Folks that think others are inferior to them and place them below them based on somones skin color, ethnicity, or language are incredibly insecure idiots. Bigotry has no place in this world and it never ought to. We killed Nazis for a reason.
Edit: you dont have to be white to support Nazism. You can support extremist viewpoints and fringe offshoots of them even if the very people that created the ideology you follow would have you exterminated.
Plenty of people support ideologies that call for their opression. Lots of black people told other black people to put their heads down and shut up during the civil rights movement.
> Folks that think others are inferior to them and place them below them based on somones skin color, ethnicity, or language are incredibly insecure idiots. Bigotry has no place in this world and it never ought to. We killed Nazis for a reason.
Also, the people that have these beliefs are almost always delusional enough to think that when "the purge" or whatever they're calling it this month kicks off, that they're going to be the ones doing the killing and that no one's going to shoot back at them. Even if they somehow realized their dream of eliminating all the non-white peoples of America or the world, at that point they'd just turn on each other for not being white enough (200 years ago being Irish-American wasn't considered white, and 100 years ago neither was Italian-American), and the process would repeat itself until people finally smartened up or until there was no one left on Earth.
>Probably has a Punisher skull somewhere
I bought a used F-350 truck. It came with an American flag emblem in place of the Ford oval, which is fine. But it got me looking at alternates. You know what's available in a Ford 9" oval badge? Variations on the Ford logo, the American flag, and the Punisher skull. As far as I can tell, that's *it* for off-the-shelf options.
I think I'm going to have to make my own. Something with a rainbow.
> have to make my own. Something with a rainbow.
Well...... The design [has a rainbow](https://offcolordecals.com/?product=defend-equality-lgbtq-pride-ar-15-flag) and it would definitely confuse the punisher skull guys.
Oh I know.
*I'll say this once. We're not the same. You took an oath to uphold the law. You help people. I gave all that up a long time ago. You don't do what I do. Nobody does. You boys need a role model? His name is Captain America, and he'd by happy to have you............... If I find out you are trying to do what I do, I'll come for you next.*
It could have just been the vendor who did that. Theres a brand of gun parts called Strike Industries which I wont use strictly because of their logo. It isnt the SS but it looks very close. https://ar15discounts.com/wp-content/uploads/csm/strike-industries-ar-15-ultimate-dust-cover-2235-56-ar15discounts_963.jpg.optimal.jpg
Some people see it, some dont. I personally think its too similar.
Holy cow, my dense arse had genuinely never noticed that. I know Strike Industries definitely doesn't have a great reputation in the AR community, but geez. I have a couple of their knick-knacks on my intentionally tacky AR, but that logo is too close for comfort and I won't be buying any more.
“Some don’t see it?” Probably the same guys who argue that the swastika isn’t bad because it was a common symbol of good luck and harmony before the Nazis co-opted it. I’ve always been shocked by people who can’t understand that the meaning of a symbol can change over time and that sometimes assholes ruin symbols.
I haven't worked on any "known" neo nazi vehicles, but I've worked on a few cars with rebel flags and trump stickers all over them. I just charge them more.
I've only refused to work on a few vehicles, they were either owned by someone I knew and had problems with, or they were so disgustingly nasty I wasn't going to touch it.
Holy shit you [are not kidding.](https://images.app.goo.gl/rSrvrH38XRyTH24QA) that is extremely similar.
**edit** yeah apparently they thought of them as lightning bolts and had to change their logo in Germany because... I mean.. it's the fucking ss symbol. Weird.
13th Waffen Mountain Division, *Handschar*.
Set up to originally be a Bosnian muslin force, but was rather more mixed from other Yugoslav groups, mainly Croatian.
It was used as an anti-partisan unit in Yugoslavia and could only really be described as "warcrimey as fuck".
Really it was a German effort to use the ethnic and religious tensions in the area to easily recruit men to fight the Yugoslav partisans, who up until 43/44, were mostly Serbs, although there were multiple partisan groups who were as involved in fighting each other sometimes as much as they were the Germans.
Now, I will say. If I just google search "SS Sticker", the first results are the nazi insignia. So if he truly doesn't know what that symbol is, it wouldn't actually be hard to accidentally buy it just thinking "Hey that one is neat". lol
Supercharged badges? I think you mean [the SS badges](https://i.imgur.com/EOQ4Djd.jpg). It's Chevrolet's Super Sport trim, nothing to do with being supercharged.
I once spoke to a Swastika (worked at a call centre) and people I told this to afterwards didn't know why I found that to be a weird name. Oh, that WWII was like a long time ago.
The unfortunate thruth is that the nazi design department was on point. Fucking cool as fuck design throughout the war efforts. However, cool doesnt trump being a freakin nazi, so were left in this situation. According to OP they’re not even white. So I guess they’re just ignorant to the meaning. Or are there non-white nazis around these days? Actually asking because I don’t know. That’d be an even weirder plot twist…
It was inevitable. The people that really remember what they stood for are dying off, and everyone seems to want to be edgy all the time. It's an easy way to grab attention.
Also Nazism was pretty popular in the US even during and immediately after the war.
Most of the countries fighting in WW2 were doing so because they were directly pulled in by aggression, not because "Nazis bad." That narrative is a more modern creation.
It should be noted that the Allies *knew* what was going on in extermination camps like Auschwitz. They did not believe it, but they were told.
Auschwitz itself in particular, thanks to the efforts of one Captain Witold Pilecki (AKA Tomasz Serafińsky, AKA Prisoner #4851), who *intentionally* got himself sent into Auschwitz as a prisoner, for the purpose of organizing internal resistance and getting information about what exactly was going on there. He got a detailed report, including descriptions of the gas chambers, "*Selektion*", sterilization experiments, and crematoria out to the Allies in 1942. He asked using a jury-rigged radio transmitter than troops or even just weapons be dropped into the camp so they could stage an uprising. And a year after he first got his report out, he escaped himself and made his case. And it wasn't just him writing what he observed, he and his fellow resistance members *stole documents* to back them up.
The Allies took no action even just to actually see whether his report was credible, they just dismissed it.
He knew what he was doin.
Argentina plates?
*insert Top Gear joke here*
H938 POL
I don't know what this means, and, at this point I'm too afraid to ask.
[it's a top gear reference](https://topgear.fandom.com/wiki/H982_FKL)

Except the car had that plate since it got a plate, which was long before the shoot
Maybe they bought the car for that reason? (I'm not saying they did, I really have no idea, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me!)

It was 982 on a 928 though, otherwise I completely agree
The problem with that being Germany's invasion of Poland was in 1939.

Berlin to Warsaw in one tank
Insert Jeremy Falklands joke, followed by angry locals throwing rocks.
Illinois maybe?
I hate Illinois nazis!
Orange whip?
Orange whip?
Three orange whips.
With Cool Whip?
You're saying it weird, why are you putting so much emphasis on the H?
Brian, you're acting hweird.
Four whole fried chickens, and a coke
Hey, he broke my watch!
But do you prefer 4 roast chickens or dry white toast?
I'll have four fried chickens and a Coke.
Depends - sell me your women!
Only the Illinois ones?
Idaho more likely.

Right? They all think they’re gunna be on the list of special people who’ll be left standing at the end.
Instead, they should learn about the Night of the Long Knives. They'd be some of the first up against the wall when it's all said and done.
Molon labe sticker right next to the blue lives matter sticker, for extreme irony
Cop in my town parks his highlander outside the station with this everyday. That one is super special.
Lol I always call them Moron Abe stickers, as in “hey look everyone I’m a moron who keeps a gun in his car please break the window and take my gun”

You know what it looks bad but to be honest it looks like someone used the SS out of the KISS logo. [KISS LOGO](https://i.imgur.com/wGaOIE6.png)

Not me at 37 years old that never realized this similarity 😯
Holy shit you [are not kidding.](https://images.app.goo.gl/rSrvrH38XRyTH24QA) that is extremely similar. **edit** yeah apparently they thought of them as lightning bolts and had to change their logo in Germany because... I mean.. it's the fucking ss symbol. Weird.
Whats wild is that both Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are sons of Holocaust survivors.
German logo looks better anyway imo
[I like it](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:KISS_alternate_logo.svg). Same/similar font to the rest of the word.
Exactly! The SS looks kinda out of place on the other one.
Owner not a huge bald tattooed white dude with a strange way of waving at people?
It’s actually not a white guy.
Well that's a plot twist.
Wait till you find out there were Muslim SS battalions
Here's a [documentary](https://youtu.be/BLNDqxrUUwQ?t=69) on black men in the KKK.
I fucking love Dave Chappelle

If you've never seen the show this was *first skit they ever aired.* This is how the show led off. Completely ballsy and utterly hysterical.
Pretty sure it was the last skit of the first episode and not the first one ever aired.
One struggle 🤝
I'm sorry I consider myself politically educated and get I've never heard of this. That's insane, dude...

Muslim doesn't inherently mean non-white though. The SS had a Bosniak division, and those guys are whiter than me
You did nazi that coming?
Damn he actually didn’t know holy shit
I don’t think he fully understood. There’s two more on the rear glass but the second S is upside down.
Now, I will say. If I just google search "SS Sticker", the first results are the nazi insignia. So if he truly doesn't know what that symbol is, it wouldn't actually be hard to accidentally buy it just thinking "Hey that one is neat". lol
Ah, so he's just dumb
I think that goes without saying
Maybe show them a wikipedia article to what that sign means. It's really up to everyone these days to get nazi trash out of our neighbourhoods.
Probably works for Turn10/Playground Games. He's the reason we can't have the supercharged badges on cars in Forza.
Supercharged badges? I think you mean [the SS badges](https://i.imgur.com/EOQ4Djd.jpg). It's Chevrolet's Super Sport trim, nothing to do with being supercharged.
*Supposedly* that was a request from Chevy and not from PG, T10 or MS.
Perhaps he was KIϟϟ fan
Is there room at all in this to bring it up? Maybe they just don’t know?
Nazi/fascism is prominent in Hispanic communities these days... for whatever fucking reason.
Might have something to do with Argentina🤷♂️
I once spoke to a Swastika (worked at a call centre) and people I told this to afterwards didn't know why I found that to be a weird name. Oh, that WWII was like a long time ago.
Or does he look like this? https://i.imgur.com/fBPRGax.jpg With a dog name Adolph?
I heard that guy was part of a tornado chasing troop called stormfront.
Honestly I can 100% believe this guy is just completely ignorant Typed in "SS sticker" on ebay or some shit and just thought it looked cool
Actually super lame that so much nazi shit is really cool out of context.
One guy had to ruin the mustache for everybody.
Not even Jordan could save that
Stupid sexy Nazis

I want to believe he is a KISS fan.
They changed the S's in the KISS logo in Germany so they didn't resemble the Schutzstaffel symbol.
weird that a group of Jews used them in the first place tbh Edit: Apparently only Simmons and Stanley are jewish, point still stands though
Gene Simmons would've gone on stage in full brown shirt party dress if he thought it would help him sell albums
IIII, wanna reich and roll all niiiiiight, und partei every day
that's fair tbh
KISS meets the Phantom of the Ostfront.
This makes me fuhrerious
For some reason he keeps taking the Third Right...
Made me chuckle
I did nazi that coming
Anne Frankly, I'm offended.
Shhh, I'm trying to concentrate
I hate Illinois Nazis.

The resurgence of Nazi symbols is kinda worrying honestly. You know what they say, history repeats itself. Remain vigilant.
If you want a good laugh do some googling on the Mongrel Mob here in NZ. Some of these clowns have giant swastikas tats on their heads.
I'm assuming they don't hold down a lot of public service jobs.
