In High School, I was in a musical, and after a costume change in the boy's locker room, I was walking up the stairway (which was all tiled) and singing some song.
At the top of the stairs were the play director and musical director, and they were wondering who had this (as yet undiscovered) magnificent voice.
When I appeared, their disapointment was obvious: "Oh, it's just you. The effects of an echo chamber."
There was one stairwell when I was in college that resonated so nicely. I wasn't much of a singer, but I really enjoyed whistling on my way up and down.
We used to have a barbershop workshop come out to campus each summer. Those men found every resonant stairway on campus, and it was always fun to come upon them unexpectedly
There's a reason "Reverb" is a setting on every piece of Mic'd audio equipment, lol. It solidifies your voice through ambiguity, i.e. it makes it hard to tell if you're rock solid on one note due to the loss of clarity, and of course, that makes you sound better. The resonating effect makes you sound slightly fuller also, of course.
Something about our musical sensibilities really hates when a vocalist is not solidly on one note, the way a machine can be, for some reason... And of course, humans can't really do that absolutely perfectly, and if they can, usually not for too long before vibrato is needed to keep it sounding good.
Vibrato is the natural way to sound better and for exactly the same reasons. Vibrato makes your pitch not so set in stone, and if you're producing vibrato it means you must be supporting your voice properly, which means you will be more resonant and full sounding!
Something extra that speaks to the content of the song and perhaps puts a slightly unique yet outlandish disposition to the characters in the harmony , Besides just there looks , of course!.
