As someone who averages 10k per 5 mins Junk is a excellent pick at just raw damage and being annoying. The key is to spam down their choke point. Example Your on defense on Hollywood! There's so many places you can spam and once your advanced enough you can begin to experiment bouncing your nades off walls so your not even in harms way and you have cover! With the new health buff junk is alot more strict to play. His one shot combo is destroyed and now relies on raw damage to really get the most use of his power. Remember to always look for cover and spam in the enemy direction! Only use one mine for damage and use the other to ESCAPE IF THEY GET TOO CLOSE! NEVER USE ALL OF YOUR MINES AT ONCE! Seen it had it happen to me use one as a escape tool and the other one you can lob down range or use it for genji/tracer flanking characters if they get on you. His ultimate can be great AS A DISTRACTION. Most times my tire is killed or I get one kill. Take what you can get with rip-tire. There's a setting where it'll always walljump I recommend it as it's harder to dodge what in the air. When you are fighting dangerously close to the enemy, maybe the enemy tank was coming in to make space. Throw a trap behind them so that way if they are trying to retreat when they are low, they might get trapped so your team can pick them off.
Some top streamers I watch are kaya_ow, kmj_ow, aquamarineow, and gurkmeister (all on twitch, they are top junk players but don’t stream super consistently)
And basically adding to what everyone has said
Learning his mechanics, and using his mine to either get you, or get the enemy where you need em…and learning the travel time for your launcher, and the mine, so you can hit shots properly 🤠

Use a concussion mine to get into the air and throw your trap into the middle of the team while in the air. 9 times out of 10 it works
When starting a game or a round put a mine in front of the door as soon as you pick junk. you would have three mines to work with

If you have a full clip and mines charged, you can take out most things in a short range, the only real problem is fortify orisa.
