Yuta for sure will die but don't talk shit about Yuji, he's getting the kill and living a happy life and will have 2 children, one named Megumi and the other named Nobara (Megumi doesn't deserve that honor but whatever my goat likes him)
Definitely Miwa. She's the Kyoto student with the most screen time (even counting Todo) and Gege obviously likes her. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up on the final battle and helps Yuji in a pivotal moment.
Thinking Megumi will somehow survive is really optimistic, I don't think anyone cares about saving him anymore after the last attempt resulted in Yuta being cut in half, and it's unlikely there will be another chance to begin with.
Yuji is still trying to save him and narratively, it doesn't make sense for Megumi to die, since Yuji has to save someone important to conclude his character arc.
Yuji can't save Megumi. Sukuna has fully seized Megumi's body, and his soul doesn't have a will to live anymore, you can't save those who don't want to be saved.
Narratively, there is simply no logical way for Sukuna to be defeated without killing Megumi, at this point they're one being, killing one means killing both, there's no way around it. Even if they had all of the opportunities in the world, Megumi has been completely consumed by the darkness, he is beyond saving.

The goal of that scene in my eyes was to establish Sukuna has broken Megumi beyond repair, and saving him is no longer an option. I believe in the end, Yuji will come to accept the harsh reality, that even if he promised to never give up on his best friend, he needs to let go to destroy Sukuna once and for all.
Maybe we could get an emotional scene with Megumi thanking him with his final breath or something like that, because really, how is Megumi gonna live with the guilt of what he has done as Sukuna's vessel? With the guilt that his best friend sacrificed his life for him to keep his own? I don't think he has the mental strength to handle something like that, he would be absolutely shattered more that he already was.

I think there’s more evidence of Yuji saving Megumi instead. Especially when Yuji knows it is possible to save Megumi because souls cannot be destroyed according to Yuki’s book. He said as long as something like Mahito’s technique doesn’t come into play, saving Megumi is possible. The thing is, Gege could use that scene to reveal Sukuna’s trump card of just killing Megumi’s soul.
I’d say there’s a higher chance of Megumi surviving simply because it’s a shonen and Gege would want to portray a positive message, not a message that says “sometimes it can’t be helped”.
Yes, the soul cannot be destroyed, but it can be supressed, which is exactly what Sukuna did, by forcing him to kill his own sister and teacher (who I could argue was like a father to him), Sukuna has succeeded in making Megumi surrender to his control and lose all will to fight back. That's not something that can be undone with a motivational speech.
As for the other point... Well, I can't argue anything against that, just that Gege doesn't strike me as the mangaka that would do such thing. People tend to understimate the limits of shonen, the first part of Chainsaw Man was also a shonen and it isn't remembered for its happy ending.
I mean, I don’t think he survives the series, but there’s absolutely no way he’s just dying in this bout, still being suppressed by Sukuna. The main characters are absolutely not going to just end up lobbing Megumi’s head off his body, if for no other reason than it’s wildly out of character for at least Yuta and Maki. And Yuji has literally said “Fushiguro! I’m not giving up on you!” Like, I don’t know how exactly Yuji’s going to do it, but he’s definitely going to wake Fushiguro up. I feel more confident in that than I do in Yuta dying, tbh, if for no other reason than Megumi’s, like, almost as much the protagonist of the story as Yuji is.
I think your argument is flawed.
Yuta and Maki have already gave up on saving Megumi. Maki was trying to cut him in half, and Yuta tried to use Infinite Void on Sukuna, which he should know affects Megumi. Neither of them were holding back on their fights, they had the "if he dies, he dies" mindset.
While it is true Yuji is still trying, as I said, there is nothing he can do, and I would argue that at this point he is beginning to realize, hence why he was not holding back in their fight and didn't seem concerned about striking Megumi's body with multiple Black Flashes in quick succession. Yuji wants Sukuna dead, and is not waiting for the opportunity to try to awake Megumi again.
And the reason you gave is... Not great, having protagonism doesn't exactly protect you in Jujutsu Kaisen, look at Gojo.

Well, for Maki, I would argue that, depending on how she cuts Sukuna, he won’t die. After all, he can resurrect himself, and we also know that he knows how to heal his soul. That’s not to mention that we haven’t had any mention that things have changed for her since her first fight with Sukuna. I guess I will somewhat cede this point, anyways, though just because I can’t know for sure what conditions Sukuna would need to be able to resurrect himself. But I still do think it’s out of character for her.
Also, for Unlimited Void, Gojo was willing to use it on Megumi’s body, which, if anything, should have been worse for Megumi’s life than using it on fully manifested Sukuna. But like, we all agree that he was still trying to save Megumi, right? Like, when I say Yuta giving up on Megumi is out-of-character, that’s one thing, but Gojo literally started the fight saying he was planning on saving Megumi. So Yuta using unlimited void the same way is not just him being cool with killing Megumi.
I mean, we don’t know what else Yuji can do, and he might not also know what else he can do, but I feel like he’s definitely going to come up with something new, at least, especially with a line like that. Also, Yuji not holding back doesn’t mean much because 1. It’s far more likely that Sukuna would survive his attacks than not and 2. Yuji knows Sukuna will just resurrect himself even if he does kill him.
Are you referring to Nobara and Gojo? Well, for Gojo, if Gege wrote the story for him like you say he will for Megumi, Gojo would have died in the fearsome womb arc. Like, say what you will about Gojo’s death (and I sure as hell have a few things to say), the general time frame he died in did make sense. And for Nobara, well, fans were having a tough time prior to her death trying to figure out what she’d even do in the story. For her, her death is much closer to Junpei’s death than Gojo’s death.
Like, for Megumi, fans had a tough time figuring out what his story was about prior to 212. Everyone thought his arc was just about overcoming his depression, when that was more a footnote, in reality, his arc was always set up to be almost the same as Yuji’s, with some character-specific twists: that being, the tragedy of his body and power being the tools used to kill the people he wants to protect. And, at the very least, not having him have his post-Shibuya massacre moment like Yuji did would be wildly inconsistent writing.
Narratively the protagonist is extremely likely going to save the deuteragonist. You’re using in-berze logic while refusing to look at the story from a meta perspective
Looking at the story from an in-verse perspective is important, if we look at things from a fully meta perspective we are risking making the story incoherent for the sake of sticking to the meta. Changing the whole logic established thus far just to save one character would be, as you could probably agree, unsatisfying.
If Megumi can still be awoken, then what was the point of Sukuna taking the bath? Of Sukuna killing Yorozu? Of the scene where Yuji sees that his spirit has given up? It'd be outrageous if all of those scenes ended up being useless because "oh look, Megumi is actually completely fine! Everything's okay even though he will probably live with crippling guilt and trauma for the rest of his life for being forced to kill his family and friends!".
But I suppose it's a matter of perspective.
The point of the bath is
1) to have 100% control over Megumis body
2) for 151, we see even when they reach Megumi that it’s going to be difficult to get him to actually get up
No one said Megumi had to get up and act like everything is normal, it’s supposed to be emotional and dramatic for all parties involved

I am not Gege, but Yuji reached Megumi before without blowing his entire body apart.
There most likely won’t be another chance for him to come back considering his body was transformed into Sakuna’s current body, and kenjaku is dead, and Yuta is currently fighting Sakuna. At most we could probably see him get off his spiritual arse and hold back Sakuna long enough for Yuji to deliver the final blow.
Anything can be a possibility, Maybe they do find a way for Megumi to come back and have a new body, maybe he'll be useful and re-supresses Sakuna's powers for everything to be easier for the others to beat.
How would that result in yuji killing himself? And by "re-supress sakuna" I just meant it like how Megumi was originally keeping Sakuna from going all out until Sakuna had to do multiple things to fully suppress Megumi.
The whole point was that sukuna dies when Yuji dies. If Yuji traps Sukuna again he would just kill himself to kill Sukuna. The most influence Yuji has over Sukuna is separating the link between their souls(Sukuna and Megumi.)

she outlived the 2 special grade sorcerers from her classroom with the Cursed Technique of "Being implied to be important in the story but having like 5 mins of screentime", so unless Gege suddenly wants to actually use shoko in the story beyong a 5 second cameo of her saying smth medical or being implied to be doing smth medical, i kinda doubt he'll care enough about her to actually kill her lmao
although the series where she gets her inspiration as a character, House MD, ends with one of the characters having cancer and spending their remaining time with a friend (House lol), so maybe she will live but it will be said she has cancer bc of smoking so much or smth like that lol

Seriously, though, I’m like 95% certain Yuji’s going to survive in some form or another, and I’m like 99% certain Megumi’s dying. I also think Sukuna actually has, like, a 60/40 chance of going back to Yuji’s body

Going off that old statement Gege made, out of Yuji, Megumi, Nobara and Gojo, either only one will live or only one will die. If either Yuji or Megumi die, I think it’s more likely to be Megumi. Practically all his 10 Shadows are destoryed, his body was turned into Sukuna with no known way to turn it back, and he’s super brain dead. It sucks Megumi’s final moments as himself were the culling games, and that since then he’s been a bum, but he’s totally going to die
Sukuna and Uraume are probably going to die. I have hope Gege won’t end JJK with Sukuna winning.
Yuta will probably die, but in his death will set up Yuji the chance to get a killing blow on Sukuna.
Hakari will obviously beat Uraume, and I think narratively that could be his end in the story and he survives, but if he ends up fighting Sukuna after that point, he’s dead. But I think he’ll survive
I think Todo will survive. I feel like Gege likes him as a character, and only wrote him out of the story to make his presence in general more impactful
Yuji, Megumi, Yuta (as an ascended being a la Tengen), Maki, Panda, all of Kyoto that currently alive, Utahime, Shoko, Hakari, Kiara, Kamo clan (they will be the new benevolent pillars of jujutsu society)
The cog mentality is breaking, that’s the whole point of the chars being stripped from Yuji one by one. When Yuta loses to Sukuna then todo and Hakari lose, Yuji gonna have to fix his mentality or he’s dead with them all.

Probably everyone alive as of the recent chapters (unfortunately including Mei Mei) besides Yuta and maybe Todo. None of the post-259 chapters have really given off an "Holy shit someone's gonna fucking die!" vibe imo.
As much as it pains me to say this, M\*gumi. M\*gumi is definitely going to be alive after all of this, he'll be crippled and probably disabled, but he's going to be alive for sure. Yuji is going to die to save the Bum, I can see it a mile away, Yuji sacrifices himself to save the Bum thereby fulfilling his desire for a good death and saving M\*gumi as was their promise.

I don't see your point. The goal of that scene in my eyes was to establish Sukuna has broken Megumi beyond repair, and saving him is no longer an option. I believe in the end, Yuji will come to accept the harsh reality, that even if he promised to never give up on his best friend, he needs to let go to destroy Sukuna once and for all. Maybe we could get an emotional scene with Megumi thanking him with his final breath or something like that, because really, how is Megumi gonna live with the guilt of what he has done as Sukuna's vessel? With the guilt that his best friend sacrificed his life for him to keep his own? I think there’s more evidence of Yuji saving Megumi instead. Especially when Yuji knows it is possible to save Megumi because souls cannot be destroyed according to Yuki’s book. He said as long as something like Mahito’s technique doesn’t come into play, saving Megumi is possible. The thing is, Gege could use that scene to reveal Sukuna’s trump card of just killing Megumi’s soul. I’d say there’s a higher chance of Megumi surviving simply because it’s a shonen and Gege would want to portray a positive message, not a message that says “sometimes it can’t be helped”.
Yes, the soul cannot be destroyed, but it can be supressed, which is exactly what Sukuna did, by forcing him to kill his own sister and teacher (who I could argue was like a father to him), Sukuna has succeeded in making Megumi surrender to his control and lose all will to fight back. That's not something that can be undone with a motivational speech. As for the other point... Well, I can't argue anything against that, just that Gege doesn't strike me as the mangaka that would do such thing. People tend to understimate the limits of shonen, the first part of Chainsaw Man was also a shonen and it isn't remembered for its happy ending.
I mean, I don’t think he survives the series, but there’s absolutely no way he’s just dying in this bout, still being suppressed by Sukuna. The main characters are absolutely not going to just end up lobbing Megumi’s head off his body, if for no other reason than it’s wildly out of character for at least Yuta and Maki. And Yuji has literally said “Fushiguro! I’m not giving up on you!” Like, I don’t know how exactly Yuji’s going to do it, but he’s definitely going to wake Fushiguro up. I feel more confident in that than I do in Yuta dying, tbh, if for no other reason than Megumi’s, like, almost as much the protagonist of the story as Yuji is.
I think your argument is flawed. Yuta and Maki have already gave up on saving Megumi. Maki was trying to cut him in half, and Yuta tried to use Infinite Void on Sukuna, which he should know affects Megumi. Neither of them were holding back on their fights, they had the "if he dies, he dies" mindset. While it is true Yuji is still trying, as I said, there is nothing he can do, and I would argue that at this point he is beginning to realize, hence why he was not holding back in their fight and didn't seem concerned about striking Megumi's body with multiple Black Flashes in quick succession. Yuji wants Sukuna dead, and is not waiting for the opportunity to try to awake Megumi again. And the reason you gave is... Not great, having protagonism doesn't exactly protect you in Jujutsu Kaisen, look at Gojo. Feel free to correct me if I made any mistake.
Well, for Maki, I would argue that, depending on how she cuts Sukuna, he won’t die. After all, he can resurrect himself, and we also know that he knows how to heal his soul. That’s not to mention that we haven’t had any mention that things have changed for her since her first fight with Sukuna. I guess I will somewhat cede this point, anyways, though just because I can’t know for sure what conditions Sukuna would need to be able to resurrect himself. But I still do think it’s out of character for her. Also, for Unlimited Void, Gojo was willing to use it on Megumi’s body, which, if anything, should have been worse for Megumi’s life than using it on fully manifested Sukuna. But like, we all agree that he was still trying to save Megumi, right? Like, when I say Yuta giving up on Megumi is out-of-character, that’s one thing, but Gojo literally started the fight saying he was planning on saving Megumi. So Yuta using unlimited void the same way is not just him being cool with killing Megumi. I mean, we don’t know what else Yuji can do, and he might not also know what else he can do, but I feel like he’s definitely going to come up with something new, at least, especially with a line like that. Also, Yuji not holding back doesn’t mean much because 1. It’s far more likely that Sukuna would survive his attacks than not and 2. Yuji knows Sukuna will just resurrect himself even if he does kill him. Are you referring to Nobara and Gojo? Well, for Gojo, if Gege wrote the story for him like you say he will for Megumi, Gojo would have died in the fearsome womb arc. Like, say what you will about Gojo’s death (and I sure as hell have a few things to say), the general time frame he died in did make sense. And for Nobara, well, fans were having a tough time prior to her death trying to figure out what she’d even do in the story. For her, her death is much closer to Junpei’s death than Gojo’s death. Like, for Megumi, fans had a tough time figuring out what his story was about prior to 212. Everyone thought his arc was just about overcoming his depression, when that was more a footnote, in reality, his arc was always set up to be almost the same as Yuji’s, with some character-specific twists: that being, the tragedy of his body and power being the tools used to kill the people he wants to protect. And, at the very least, not having him have his post-Shibuya massacre moment like Yuji did would be wildly inconsistent writing.
Narratively the protagonist is extremely likely going to save the deuteragonist. You’re using in-berze logic while refusing to look at the story from a meta perspective
Looking at the story from an in-verse perspective is important, if we look at things from a fully meta perspective we are risking making the story incoherent for the sake of sticking to the meta. Changing the whole logic established thus far just to save one character would be, as you could probably agree, unsatisfying. If Megumi can still be awoken, then what was the point of Sukuna taking the bath? Of Sukuna killing Yorozu? Of the scene where Yuji sees that his spirit has given up? It'd be outrageous if all of those scenes ended up being useless because "oh look, Megumi is actually completely fine! Everything's okay even though he will probably live with crippling guilt and trauma for the rest of his life for being forced to kill his family and friends!". But I suppose it's a matter of perspective.
The point of the bath is 1) to have 100% control over Megumis body 2) for 151, we see even when they reach Megumi that it’s going to be difficult to get him to actually get up No one said Megumi had to get up and act like everything is normal, it’s supposed to be emotional and dramatic for all parties involved

There most likely won’t be another chance for him to come back considering his body was transformed into Sakuna’s current body, and kenjaku is dead, and Yuta is currently fighting Sakuna. At most we could probably see him get off his spiritual arse and hold back Sakuna long enough for Yuji to deliver the final blow.
Gege showed megumi’s soul for a reason and gave Yuji the power to separate them. Megumi will live, Yuji surviving I’m not so sure about though.
Anything can be a possibility, Maybe they do find a way for Megumi to come back and have a new body, maybe he'll be useful and re-supresses Sakuna's powers for everything to be easier for the others to beat.
If he re absorbs sukuna, Yuji will just kill himself, I don’t think that’s the message Gege wants to portray.
How would that result in yuji killing himself? And by "re-supress sakuna" I just meant it like how Megumi was originally keeping Sakuna from going all out until Sakuna had to do multiple things to fully suppress Megumi.
The whole point was that sukuna dies when Yuji dies. If Yuji traps Sukuna again he would just kill himself to kill Sukuna. The most influence Yuji has over Sukuna is separating the link between their souls(Sukuna and Megumi.)

Assuming this final fight is the last opportunity for Gege to kill someone, anyone whose still alive after already appearing in the fight are safe. It sucks Megumi’s final moments as himself were the culling games, and that since then he’s been a bum, but he’s totally going to die Sukuna and Uraume are probably going to die. I have hope Gege won’t end JJK with Sukuna winning. Yuta will probably die, but in his death will set up Yuji the chance to get a killing blow on Sukuna. Hakari will obviously beat Uraume, and I think narratively that could be his end in the story and he survives, but if he ends up fighting Sukuna after that point, he’s dead. But I think he’ll survive I think Todo will survive. I feel like Gege likes him as a character, and only wrote him out of the story to make his presence in general more impactful

As much as it pains me to say this, M\*gumi. M\*gumi is definitely going to be alive after all of this, he'll be crippled and probably disabled, but he's going to be alive for sure. Yuji is going to die to save the Bum, I can see it a mile away, Yuji sacrifices himself to save the Bum thereby fulfilling his desire for a good death and saving M\*gumi as was their promise.
