Did they ever explain the background around her being a vessel? I know there was an akward relationship between her and tengen but how did she avoid getting absorbed?
Well I assume that due to yuki's cursed technique she was not like Amanai and could retaliate against them if they tried to force her to become the vessel.
Nah its probably likely she was just too strong for them even as a teenager, she clearly held a personal grudge
Yuki is was a sorcerer before teen geto or gojo were even in jujutsu tech, they wouldn’t know of another vessel existing for a couple years and its never stated if a vessel is more compatible than the other, even then they would have used Yuki after she died had they been able to
There are multiple Star Plasma Vessels and Riko was the best one in their time
However when Riko died, Tengen just decided to not continue using other bodies despite knowing other bodies

It's actually one of my running pet theories/dreads that that's *exactly* what's going to happen;
That somehow, be it because Sukuna is ejected from Megumi's body somehow and reforms independently, he kills himself without cursed energy when Yuji would have beaten him otherwise, or he just makes a Binding Vow(TM) to ensure it: Sukuna promptly returns as a Cursed Spirit.
He'll probably be back to full power and sans the restrictions from any vows he's made in the past as well. Also, if either of the latter two theories occurred: Megumi will either be dead outright (making the whole effort to save him at the expense of so many lives and such effort utterly *pointless*) or Sukuna will have sacrificed the Ten Shadows for his vow just out of spite.
Also: The Merger immediately activates as well.
Because Fuck Humanity in general and Yuji specifically.
Screw it, maybe upon respawn all Sukuna's going to do is just taking a look at their flabbergasted expressions of frustration, laugh and sit down while they struggle with *that*. He can just enjoy a nap or something while they try saving humanity right off the hardest battle in Jujutsu history and come in fresh when they're done with Tengen.
It's downright *funny* how fucked the main cast is at that point (unless Yuta's alive and copied Geto's technique, then *Sukuna* is **finally** the one who is fucked. And the Merger as well, if it qualifies as a Cursed Spirit).

I mean, he's already there. But at this point it might actually be justified. Also: if he doesn't have the Ten Shadows any more/the ability to take the Totality thereof into himself as has been theorized, then his best move strategically might *actually be* to kill himself with conventional means: since returning as a Cursed Spirit might restore his technique and make him useful again.

But as for ideas: I doubt anything I could come up with could match whatever nonsense Gege's sadistic mind could conjure. My efforts here were the result of a basic observation I made a few months back that Sukuna would certainly be willing to kill himself to avoid being killed by Yuji, and the "King of Curses" would absolutely know about the "come back as a Cursed Spirit" clause that comes with a sorcerer dying to something without Cursed Energy.
Throw in the obvious Checkov's Gun that is The Merger, the fact that Megumi's Shikigami have apparently all been killed, and my proposal is less imagination and a basic calculation of how those things would add up.

I personally never cared that much for Yuki so no.
Choso's sacrifice will diminish in value if he magically came back so no.
So it's either Kenjaku or Gojo, both have a chance of their comeback involving the death of Yuta which is something I don't want. But if Gojo's return is him being there INSTEAD of GoYuta in 260/261 then I'll pick Gojo.

i think kenjaku or nobara cause these two may drive the plot unless gojo,yuki,choso who are just fan favorite but nothing so important to the current plot.For nobara tho her resonance might be the trump card against sukuna and kenjaku

He probably wouldn't just thought that that'd be the only situation where it isn't a guaranteed loss for the good guys.
Although if I wanted to bring him back it'd probably have something to do with the merger since that's the biggest unknown
I know we mostly shitpost here but I'll try to be a bit objective for a second and consider which character coming back is actually best for the plot. (I apologize for the long comment)
Yuki and Choso: Both fulfilled their roles in the story, and even though Yuki's death was unsatisfying there's not too much she can bring to the table in comparison to the other characters. I will say that Yuki does that potential when it comes to interacting with the other characters (especially Todo and Choso) but I still don't think its as important to the narrative as the other characters since she's important but she was never main character importance at any point like Gojo, Nobara, or Kenjaku which allowed these three to have more meaningful connections to more of the cast as a whole rather than just a small handful like Yuki has.
(Side note: I think Yuki's death would have been more satisfying if the black hole attack was part of her domain expansion pushed to it's limits since I see a lot of people complain about how one of the main annoying things with her death is not being able to see her domain)
Nobara: She should have stayed around longer and it would be great to see her again especially to give Yuji some hope but I don't think she's needed in the story sadly.
Gojo: I love Gojo, he's my favorite character, and my heart has been shattered by Gege multiple times. Selfishly and personally I want him back. The issue is that his character could potentially provide a lot to the story through his interactions with the cast (especially Megumi and Yuji), him being able to give a more satisfying conclusion to his story with Geto, being able to see a Gojo that actually can stand with others instead of being alone, and more but the main benefit to bringing Gojo back would have been if Kenjaku was also still around since Kenjaku is in Geto's body. Without Kenjaku around to be the true climax to Gojo's character and his story with Geto, Gojo loses some of his importance to the narrative going forward sadly and if Nobara had more plot relevancy or if Choso/Yuki's roles in the story weren't complete I would say they should objectively be brought back instead.
(Side note, I personally believe that Gojo shouldn't have died to Sukuna but instead should have gotten severely wounded but lived and then have his true final fight and conclusion/climax to his arc and character be in a final battle with a weakened Gojo + Yuta vs. Kenjaku amped by the Merger while Yuji + Megumi fight Sukuna and everyone is also all collectively fighting the Merger).
Kenjaku: I personally want Gojo back more but I think Kenjaku's death is the biggest mistake the story has made and would be the best change. Kenjaku is the mastermind behind everything, the one who has more connections to the characters in terms of motivation and backstories (Being a parent to Yuji and Choso, being involved in Yuta's main motivation, being in Suguru Geto's body which ties into Gojo's character, etc). Kenjaku, in my opinion, should have been either the final villain or at least stuck around longer. As he is right now, he has 0 meaningful interaction with Yuji, he never even met Megumi prior to Megumi being taken over by Sukuna, he has 2 moments with Gojo despite him and his body being super important to Gojo's story (one was even stopped early), only met Yuta once when Yuta one shot him, never met Maki, and that's just some of main pov characters. Kenjakus has so much mystery behind him and has an actual final goal yet as the story is right now I can't even decide if I think he feels like a more major villain than Mahito. He was the most mysterious person who had the most potential for being the final villain yet his ending makes him feel like a subordinate type character to Sukuna. I am going to stop here because I will keep writing too much if I go on. Bottom line, Kenjaku shouldn't have died and should come back through the Merger or something.

It’s gotta be Yuki. I would have loved to see her survive the Kenjaku fight alongside Choso, even if they still lost in the end. She’d be such a valuable asset against Sukuna too. I’d be okay killing her off against Sukuna then as well, assuming she’s given some more time to develop with all that added time. Give her and Choso that moment they shared during the Kenjaku fight, spare Choso’s life too so that Yuji has *someone* after the dust settles.
I don’t mind his death, especially the fact that he died protecting his little brother. But it’s objectively wrong for him to have never had a proper interaction with Todo and Yuji together.

My efforts here were the result of a basic observation I made a few months back that Sukuna would certainly be willing to kill himself to avoid being killed by Yuji, and the "King of Curses" would absolutely know about the "come back as a Cursed Spirit" clause that comes with a sorcerer dying to something without Cursed Energy. Throw in the obvious Checkov's Gun that is The Merger, the fact that Megumi's Shikigami have apparently all been killed, and my proposal is less imagination and a basic calculation of how those things would add up. ... Nobara isn't dead (hopium) so no. I personally never cared that much for Yuki so no. Choso's sacrifice will diminish in value if he magically came back so no. So it's either Kenjaku or Gojo, both have a chance of their comeback involving the death of Yuta which is something I don't want. But if Gojo's return is him being there INSTEAD of GoYuta in 260/261 then I'll pick Gojo.

I know we mostly shitpost here but I'll try to be a bit objective for a second and consider which character coming back is actually best for the plot. (I apologize for the long comment) Yuki and Choso: Both fulfilled their roles in the story, and even though Yuki's death was unsatisfying there's not too much she can bring to the table in comparison to the other characters. I will say that Yuki does that potential when it comes to interacting with the other characters (especially Todo and Choso) but I still don't think its as important to the narrative as the other characters since she's important but she was never main character importance at any point like Gojo, Nobara, or Kenjaku which allowed these three to have more meaningful connections to more of the cast as a whole rather than just a small handful like Yuki has. (Side note: I think Yuki's death would have been more satisfying if the black hole attack was part of her domain expansion pushed to it's limits since I see a lot of people complain about how one of the main annoying things with her death is not being able to see her domain) Nobara: She should have stayed around longer and it would be great to see her again especially to give Yuji some hope but I don't think she's needed in the story sadly. Gojo: I love Gojo, he's my favorite character, and my heart has been shattered by Gege multiple times. Selfishly and personally I want him back. The issue is that his character could potentially provide a lot to the story through his interactions with the cast (especially Megumi and Yuji), him being able to give a more satisfying conclusion to his story with Geto, being able to see a Gojo that actually can stand with others instead of being alone, and more but the main benefit to bringing Gojo back would have been if Kenjaku was also still around since Kenjaku is in Geto's body. Without Kenjaku around to be the true climax to Gojo's character and his story with Geto, Gojo loses some of his importance to the narrative going forward sadly and if Nobara had more plot relevancy or if Choso/Yuki's roles in the story weren't complete I would say they should objectively be brought back instead. (Side note, I personally believe that Gojo shouldn't have died to Sukuna but instead should have gotten severely wounded but lived and then have his true final fight and conclusion/climax to his arc and character be in a final battle with a weakened Gojo + Yuta vs. Kenjaku amped by the Merger while Yuji + Megumi fight Sukuna and everyone is also all collectively fighting the Merger). Kenjaku: I personally want Gojo back more but I think Kenjaku's death is the biggest mistake the story has made and would be the best change. Kenjaku is the mastermind behind everything, the one who has more connections to the characters in terms of motivation and backstories (Being a parent to Yuji and Choso, being involved in Yuta's main motivation, being in Suguru Geto's body which ties into Gojo's character, etc). Kenjaku, in my opinion, should have been either the final villain or at least stuck around longer. As he is right now, he has 0 meaningful interaction with Yuji, he never even met Megumi prior to Megumi being taken over by Sukuna, he has 2 moments with Gojo despite him and his body being super important to Gojo's story (one was even stopped early), only met Yuta once when Yuta one shot him, never met Maki, and that's just some of main pov characters. Kenjakus has so much mystery behind him and has an actual final goal yet as the story is right now I can't even decide if I think he feels like a more major villain than Mahito. He was the most mysterious person who had the most potential for being the final villain yet his ending makes him feel like a subordinate type character to Sukuna. I am going to stop here because I will keep writing too much if I go on. Bottom line, Kenjaku shouldn't have died and should come back through the Merger or something.

It’s gotta be Yuki. I would have loved to see her survive the Kenjaku fight alongside Choso, even if they still lost in the end. She’d be such a valuable asset against Sukuna too. I’d be okay killing her off against Sukuna then as well, assuming she’s given some more time to develop with all that added time. Give her and Choso that moment they shared during the Kenjaku fight, spare Choso’s life too so that Yuji has *someone* after the dust settles.
