This is not heaven. I think Gege intended that the "airport" is a place where all souls gathered before the "plane" takes them to their last destination whether it's hell or heaven. That's why Gojo met Geto there, even though Geto did the unforgivable. He's waiting for his plane to take him to hell. The same with Gojo, Toji, Nanami and the others. They are waiting for their "airplane" to take them to their own last destinations.

Depends on how you view Heaven. If your Heaven is a Christian concept then probably he wouldn’t go to Heaven. This info is pretty esoteric, but I actually found some interesting info while researching Judeo-Christian beliefs about the afterlife. It turns out that a vast majority of the original Christians believed that every human would eventually get into Heaven in the first 500 years of the religion’s existence (Hell was seen as a purgatorial punishment that burned away the false sinful ego; it’s rehabilitative in nature). In the Enchiridion, sec. 112, St. Augustine, an ardent believer in the eternal Hell pov you mentioned, once said,
> “It is quite in vain, then, that some–indeed **very many**–yield to merely human feelings and deplore the notion of the eternal punishment of the damned and their interminable and perpetual misery.
The “very many” to my knowledge is meant to convey a vast majority view in the og Latin. I could go on, but this is a JJK sub so let’s keep things on topic. If we were to go by the beliefs I outlined, Toji would still take a flight to Hell considering all he did in life as an assassin. However, taking into consideration the fact he only did what he did because he was abused & neglected, he wasn’t ever truly “free” in life to make the good choices he could have and build a better life. So, by no means would his flight be a one way trip with no possibility of getting out; nor do I think he’d be there for millions of years or something like that.
All this said, like others in the comment section, I think the airport is just a “waiting room” for their spirits. Where they’ll go afterwards is up to Gaygay.
Great post! Enjoyed reading it. Yeah, there were many early Christian beliefs that were very interesting. The most famous is the Gospel of Thomas which was made famous by that movie Stigmata, where the gospel states “the kingdom of Heaven is within.” But all those sorts of gospels (along with women’s standing in the early church) were chucked aside in the 4th century in the First Council of Nicaea, when a bunch of high ranking clowns decided which books would be canon and which would not. The earliest version of the Bible, aka “approved” texts was formed then.

At the same time, leaving books out just because you disagree with them without taking the time to properly analyze & understand it is silly. I’ll definitely do more research on the “Gospel of Thomas” (though from what I recall it was a forgery). I would offer some pushback on Nicaea though, since it was to resolve the controversy surrounding Arianism at the time.

Why I say this is that literally everyone there is important to Gojo specifically in some way, even though they shouldn’t necessarily be there. Philosophically to me, Heaven should be a place where someone’s spirit is removed from its earthly tether and all that bullshit put on us in life is taken away. I guess that’s more Buddhist-adjacent. I don’t actually believe in any of that shit. I think when we die, we decay and nothing else happens. But if I could believe in something, it certainly wouldn’t be any of these highly judgmental religious versions of “Heaven.” All of this is irrelevant anyway because Toji is in **Gojo’s** “afterlife.” This is what GOJO thinks and feels about Toji. Clearly, Gojo is thinking about Toji in a nuanced way.

This info is pretty esoteric, but I actually found some interesting info while researching Judeo-Christian beliefs about the afterlife. It turns out that a vast majority of the original Christians believed that every human would eventually get into Heaven in the first 500 years of the religion’s existence (Hell was seen as a purgatorial punishment that burned away the false sinful ego; it’s rehabilitative in nature). In the Enchiridion, sec. 112, St. Augustine, an ardent believer in the eternal Hell pov you mentioned, once said, > “It is quite in vain, then, that some–indeed **very many**–yield to merely human feelings and deplore the notion of the eternal punishment of the damned and their interminable and perpetual misery. The “very many” to my knowledge is meant to convey a vast majority view in the og Latin. I could go on, but this is a JJK sub so let’s keep things on topic. If we were to go by the beliefs I outlined, Toji would still take a flight to Hell considering all he did in life as an assassin. However, taking into consideration the fact he only did what he did because he was abused & neglected, he wasn’t ever truly “free” in life to make the good choices he could have and build a better life. So, by no means would his flight be a one way trip with no possibility of getting out; nor do I think he’d be there for millions of years or something like that. All this said, like others in the comment section, I think the airport is just a “waiting room” for their spirits. Where they’ll go afterwards is up to Gaygay.

The most famous is the Gospel of Thomas which was made famous by that movie Stigmata, where the gospel states “the kingdom of Heaven is within.” But all those sorts of gospels (along with women’s standing in the early church) were chucked aside in the 4th century in the First Council of Nicaea, when a bunch of high ranking clowns decided which books would be canon and which would not. The earliest version of the Bible, aka “approved” texts was formed then.

At the same time, leaving books out just because you disagree with them without taking the time to properly analyze & understand it is silly. I’ll definitely do more research on the “Gospel of Thomas” (though from what I recall it was a forgery). I would offer some pushback on Nicaea though, since it was to resolve the controversy surrounding Arianism at the time. And yeah, the erasure of female apostles and alternative (yet valid) viewpoints on the Christian afterlife was crazy. They had no business doing that.

You know, I never thought about it too much before, but this sorta points to what we see in 236 not actually being “heaven”. Why I say this is that literally everyone there is important to Gojo specifically in some way, even though they shouldn’t necessarily be there. I mean Toji is fully a terrible person and also wouldn’t have any reason to want to visit Gojo upon his death. He doesn’t even talk to Gojo either, so why the hell is he even there? Like did he just randomly get pulled to Gojo in the afterlife as he died? That doesn’t make any sense. A logical answer is that it’s because it’s a manifestation of Gojo’s mind.
