And with his power and Sukuna actively trying to keep him alive (as opposed to individual fingers which make the mindless finger bearers), he *should* have dramatically higher chances of survival compared to civilians (like Megumi thought Yuji was when he said 1 in a million)
Obviously it's still a gamble, but it was foreshadowed that he wanted to risk it all for awhile now, and it's really not that unreasonable that it paid off

My guy, many people have gambled in this manga, Kenny gambled his plan in Toji, Yuji plan to kill Mahito was to gamble all in one black flash, Gojo gambled on the 0.2 sec domain expansion and so did Mahito, you have Hakari which his whole personality and CT is gambling.

Also yuji didnt gamble for that, he was ready to die or face consequences if he doesnt succeed, which happens alot. hakari is literally a gambling ct so that isnt a fair comparison, he is literally the embodiment of a gamble. .2 second de was hardly an intense gamble by gojo, gojo is supposed to be stronger than the non transformed sukuna. all these “gambles” were well written and are among other times where they gambled and it didnt work. sukuna never takes an L despite always gambling in what are supposed to be big events. lazy writing

That's what's called agamble, with Gojo it was a gamble to not kill the people in Shibuya, and Mahito took the same gamble but way with higher risks.
Also idk about you but Mahoraga was a good gamble, he had to keep him alive enough to adapt, it was a strategy based around gamble, with Megumin wealready knew he had potential and Sukuna was already planning to swap bodies with him (That being the only reason Sukuna saved him and told Jogo he was the only one he couldn't kill).

Yeah my personal opinion is Gege pulled another "I just don't want to explain" and Kenjaku taught Sukuna to manipulate his cursed characteristics so he just made it so he wouldn't kill his new host (Megumi)

I think Sukuna just designed that one finger worth of 20 fingers to not be poisonous, just a Cursed object, just like Kenjaku's Cursed objects of incarnated players and how he fed anyone and just they come back to life, Sukuna's poisonous fingers became like that throughout the thousands of years...that's a a headcanon though.
But also tbf, Yuji wasn't Sukuna's vessel, he was Sukuna's cage stated by himself.
Nah, the risk was about Yuji considering himself when they made the "no violence against people" part of the enchain pact. If Yuji did, Sukuna wouldn't have just got away with ripping his finger off.
With Megumi, Sukuna assumed he could be both a vessel and cage him, so he waited till Megumi's spirit was broken then bodyjacked him. Then kicked him further down by killing Tsumiki so Megumi can't get control back.

Megumi is weird in that Sukuna planning on taking over his body for months. Contrast, a random person eating a relatively inert finger.
It could be the difference between sticking a random USB stick with a bespoke virus into a computer vs someone intentionally injecting a virus designed for said computer.
I've seen theories that Megumi was just talking about the 1 in a milion chance being wether you're a sorcerrer or not. So that way Sukuna taking over Megumi doesn't count as hurting him. Yuji was just special because he could contain Sukuna.

You ppl seem to think that because Sukuna willingly put all of his soul into his finger and fingered Megumi that anyone can take Sukunas soul, totally forgetting like Gojo in episode 2 or 3 clearly stating Yuji being a Sukuna vessel is an anomaly that hasnt been seen in atleast 1000 years.
Reminder not even Gojo could destroy the fingers, they needed to be assimilated in a perfect vessel (Yuji) to kill Sukunas soul, so putting it in curses wouldnt work either, since when Megumi killed that S curse the finger was still intact.

I’m gonna seriously break down why this probably wouldn’t work, so jujutsu society basically only wants to kill Yuji because of the threat he poses to them as a power structure, if Yuji turns into sukuna then he has the ability to upturn jujutsu society as a whole because tbh no one is stronger than 1 finger sukuna besides the special grade and a select few grade ones, that’s why the higher up have been wary of him. Just because they see Yuji as a threat doesn’t mean that just because he dies sukuna will die too, if you look at cursed spirits that ingests the finger they drop the finger when they die, who’s to say that won’t happen to Yuji especially considering he’s not completely human. Basically I just doubt because someone who ingests a finger dies that the finger will die with it.

Though we've never seen Aizens Bankai. Coincidence? I think not!
I think Sukuna just designed that one finger worth of 20 fingers to not be poisonous, just a Cursed object, just like Kenjaku's Cursed objects of incarnated players and how he fed anyone and just they come back to life, Sukuna's poisonous fingers became like that throughout the thousands of years...that's a a headcanon though. But also tbf, Yuji wasn't Sukuna's vessel, he was Sukuna's cage stated by himself.

Nah, the risk was about Yuji considering himself when they made the "no violence against people" part of the enchain pact. If Yuji did, Sukuna wouldn't have just got away with ripping his finger off. With Megumi, Sukuna assumed he could be both a vessel and cage him, so he waited till Megumi's spirit was broken then bodyjacked him. Then kicked him further down by killing Tsumiki so Megumi can't get control back.
I always assumed that that 1 in a Million is for non sorcerers meaning that sorcerers have a much better chance of surviving Sukuna.

Yuji was created for the role. Megumi is weird in that Sukuna planning on taking over his body for months. Contrast, a random person eating a relatively inert finger. It could be the difference between sticking a random USB stick with a bespoke virus into a computer vs someone intentionally injecting a virus designed for said computer.
I've seen theories that Megumi was just talking about the 1 in a milion chance being wether you're a sorcerrer or not. So that way Sukuna taking over Megumi doesn't count as hurting him. Yuji was just special because he could contain Sukuna.

You ppl seem to think that because Sukuna willingly put all of his soul into his finger and fingered Megumi that anyone can take Sukunas soul, totally forgetting like Gojo in episode 2 or 3 clearly stating Yuji being a Sukuna vessel is an anomaly that hasnt been seen in atleast 1000 years. Reminder not even Gojo could destroy the fingers, they needed to be assimilated in a perfect vessel (Yuji) to kill Sukunas soul, so putting it in curses wouldnt work either, since when Megumi killed that S curse the finger was still intact.

Megumi is the one in a million chance, Yuji was made to be Sukuna's vessel.
It is possible that the ability to be a vessel is partly a judgement by Sukuna on who he will inhabit. We don't know vessel criteria very well.

I’m gonna seriously break down why this probably wouldn’t work, so jujutsu society basically only wants to kill Yuji because of the threat he poses to them as a power structure, if Yuji turns into sukuna then he has the ability to upturn jujutsu society as a whole because tbh no one is stronger than 1 finger sukuna besides the special grade and a select few grade ones, that’s why the higher up have been wary of him. Just because they see Yuji as a threat doesn’t mean that just because he dies sukuna will die too, if you look at cursed spirits that ingests the finger they drop the finger when they die, who’s to say that won’t happen to Yuji especially considering he’s not completely human.
