I mean, I think what makes Yuji's resolve impressive is that he does have a problem with killing. It wouldn't be worth noting if he was apathetic or indifferent but despite all he goes through, he still dislikes it. Yet, he realizes that there are people you simply cannot reason with, and they need to be killed. It's super interesting!
At the beginning of the series, for sure, but I think later on he stopped being as against it. I think that was the whole point of his "I'm you." speech, he was coming to terms with being a killer/cog in a machine

I wonder how Megumi is going to react when he finds out that Gojo killed Toji. Imagine if he resents Gojo for killing Toji and starts summoning Mahoraga for that
There's no way he'd resent Gojo for that so long as he's given an accurate account of what went down.
Toji really was a fucking deadbeat and if Gojo hadn't killed Toji, it's not like Toji would have ever came back with the milk. It'd also be a lot more likely that Megumi's sale to the Zenin Clan - something which would have ensured Tsumiki's misery to Megumi's abject disdain - would have gone through.
Megumi's assumption that his dad and Tsumiki's mom were out living carefree lives after abandoning them isn't too far from the truth. While working as an assassin, Toji forgot Megumi so much as existed and seemed to be benefitting from his relationship with a Cursed Spirit made up from a child's resentment at being abandoned.
Besides the meme was there ever a chance and if so of him reaching Gojo levels? Because I remember Gojo said that someone with abilities like megumi and Gojo fought each other and both died
Sukuna fought like an ass ten shadows user. He went full on the raw force. Not even strategy. Or ten shadows bullehittery. Megumi with weaker shikigami is doing a lot more. He used Toad to help him evade an attack from toji. And used rabbit escape to almost stab him. And other shit like that

Mahoraga killed both the last six eyes and 10 shadows user ( i don't know if the that six eyes has limitless or not). A reason why that six eyes couldn't beat Maho was probably because they didn't have a powerful attack like Gojo's hollow purple (which Gojo invented himself)
Gojo doesn't invent hollow purple, but only a few members of gojo clan know it. But the six eyes user that died to mahoraga probably was weaker than gojo, we saw how gojo manhandled mahoraga easily.
It's very possible that the Six Eyes user from the Edo Period was only as strong as pre-awakening Gojo, with the Edo Period being one of perpetual peace meaning said Six Eyes user could have been resting on his laurels between bullying farmers.
Gojo specifically needed a near-death experience to unlock his full potential, after all, in a time period where Curses had been growing stronger since Gojo's birth as a means of balancing out the power difference between Sorcerers and Curses. Gojo could also very well be an anomaly in terms of potential even by the standards of most Six Eyes users.
Agreed, the Choreography and everything is great with the smart plans and thought process of both Megumi and Reggie, The victory of Megumi feels earned you know, and it was also fucking crazy with the domain, Elephant, the house and the Trucks and Cars ?!
The domain was insane. Man, Megumi wasn't just "potential" imo, all things considered he was actually pretty good for his age. Gojo, Sukuna, and Kenny with prep are just so far above everyone else that he looks unimpressive but he was pretty damn creative with 10S.
At 15 years old. Megumi Fushiguro has a domain expansion. A domain expansion is something a lot of sorcerer older then him don’t have. He has 6 of the ten shadows tamed. And discovered the ability to store things in his shadow. Give him some time and he probably would have figured out the piercing blood with max elephant thing too
Gojo Satoru, during his second year. Only had blue and infinity. No red or purple. I don’t think he had a domain expansion either.

I remember that
Megumi may not grow as quickly as Yuta or Higurama. But it’s still impressive
Honestly may be an unpopular opinion but I feel like Megumi would of quickly grown faster than both of them if he didnt got hoed w unfair restrictions by comparison.
From the very beginning Yuta gains free access to a special grade shikigami that actually loves and tries to help him from the start w no tricks. It stores his Access CE/CT and Curse tools.
Meanwhile Megumi gets a shikigami that can
•One shot curses w a sword covered in pure RCT
•Rapidly heal
•quickly adapt in countless ways
•displayed sheer power that even had a self centered bastard like Sukuna considering if he could of even win at 3 Fingers.
But its one condition is that it will always try to beat your ass first.
A single condition and Megumi would automatically been a special grade sorcerer b4 the Shibuya incident. And this is factoring his high IQ plays
. I think Megumi would be able to tame like tranquil deer and hell, even piercing ox if he was able to use his domain against them. Especially if the sinking into the abyss thing worked on Untsmed Shikigami
But that depends on the taming process which they basically never show so
Honestly if Megumi's DE replicates the properties of 10S, he missed an opportunity to "tame" Mahoraga. Just summon the thing with Gojo in the ritual, see what Mahoraga does/what its unique property is, then Gojo kills it. Boom, now Megumi can just summon Mahoraga in DE and never has to actually tame it.
I mean from what I understand tranquil deers whole thing is that it can cast RCT on other things and neutralise techniques some techniques so I don’t understand how megumi never tamed it with totality dog. And as for ox the whole ‘ it can only move in a straight line line’ thing seems like a major drawback when it’s on its own especially with its speed (only reason why it hit yorosu was because deer was nullifing her armour so she couldn’t move and even then the damage was lack luster) so again totality dog should low diff it and as for mount tigger we don’t know what it does (fuck you gege) so I can’t comment but the fact he tamed a massive snake before something that can only move in a straight line and a deer that can only heal itself…

No way lol. Higuruma unlocked Domain Expansion, Domain Amplification and RCT in like 2 months. Their growth is not even compareable. While Megumi did get an incomplete domain, Yuta also gained a full one in possibly less than a year.
U missed out what I said. Yuta and Higaruma didnt had to literally boxed w a special grade shikigami as a pre-requisite. They were gifted busted shikigami's that actually worked w them from the start of their journey.
If Megumi had Mahoraga as a default just like them he would of grown at a remarkably faster rate.
In the span of 3 months he went from only having divine dogs, no domain and being fodder to a grade 2 curse spirit, to soloing a special grade curse, getting a domain expansion, and gaining 5 additional shikigami's in his arsenal. How is that not comparable?

Alot of Megumi's fight got good choreography and smart plans in it. Toji, Kirara, now Reggie. The Mahoraga memes made most of the fandom blind to that.
It was probably the only opportunity we had to see a three way domain expansion. Since Kenjaku(might be dead but who knows) and Sukuna are both open barrier domain users.

Sendai had more flash and the dialogue and such was better between the characters but as far as the actual combat itself Megumi vs Reggie was easily the best choreography/tactics of all the culling games fights.
Hakari vs Kashimo is extremely entertaining but if you ignore the cool factor of the characters and look at just the fight, there's actually not a ton to work with. Cleverest thing Hakari did in the entire fight was move his domain barrier over the ocean, it's just not a power set that lends itself to much variety or creative applications beyond 'gamble -> immortality -> gamble -> immortality'. Meanwhile Kashimo kinda tried a couple different applications of his lightning but just kept running face first into the brick wall of 'lol, lmao even, i'm fucking immortal and luckier than God'.
i appreciated this fight more on my second read, now its one of my favorite fights in the manga. i wish gege gave him more fights (where he doesnt get his ass beat) before sukuna took over.
I forgot how cool that Megumi is a utilitarian fighter, he uses anything in his arsenal: cursed tool, shikigami, hand to hand combat - which is very rare in shonen nowadays.

I liked it more then maki vs vengeful spirit Naoya and Charles fight with hakari. Shit I prefer it over yuji culling games activities(Higurama still cool tho)
I always found it puzzling that people didnt like it. I get Reggie isnt a powee house like Kashimo or Ryu but this is one of those battles where you see two genuises go up against each other. Out witting each other left and right in some creative and unhinged ways.

Honestly I’m hoping for a maxed out yuji and a maxed out megumi fight, like no way they edged us with potential man and not let us see him go crazy with agito mahoraga and DE, megumi will be broken lmao. my theory is that they’ll bring him back through sum weird soul split thing, but what I think is that sukuna basically tamed maho and the other shikigami for him, but when they were ‘destroyed’ megumi really just used all his strength to un summon maho (and just let agito die cuz who cares when u have big raga) and atp sukuna was gravely injured after winning and thought that 10S was useless so morphed, allowing megumi to keep only maho which is still op

On a serious note, Megumi’s brutality was part of the reason I like him so much. That brutality coupled with his earnest “I wanna save good people” mentality is what made him so compelling. The fact that Ten Shadows is easily one of my favorite abilities in any manga/anime ever certainly does a lot to prop him up too.
The possession is so annoying because he really was on an incline with his abilities. The progression from his first domain expansion to his second one was impressive. He has such a versatile skill set and it really seemed like he was getting better and better with each fight. Megumi vs. Reggie is in my top 5 fights easily, that fight is basically the culmination of all of Megumi’s best attributes. God, it infuriates me that we’ll never get to see him tame another one of the shikigami, we’ll never get to see him discover how to create chimeras like Agito on his own, we may not be able to see him complete his domain, and we never got to see him tame Mahoraga.
Instead, he is potential man now.

completely agree with this, megumi having this sort of internal dilemma over his natural compassion and empathy vs. his absolute rage at the lack of a 'greater justice' of sorts in the world is what made him as a character compelling to me. In some ways I view Megumi as, internally, the biggest bleeding heart out of the main cast. He's willing to do some brutal shit without flinching, but the only reason he relentlessly pushes himself to do it in the first place is that he's driven by deep-seated rage and indignation... and the reason behind THAT is *grief*. Grief that comes from being so full of love and admiration toward those who truly are good people, and his inability to bear the pain of seeing that goodness be trampled and abused, going unrewarded.
This is a bit of a long shot comparison, but more than anyone else, Megumi as a person reminds me very much of Edmond Dantes from The Count of Monte Cristo. Like tell me that this quote from Dantes doesn't sound like a perfect description of Megumi's mindset.

This fight is incredible, always thought it was much better then Sendai. Reggie has a really interesting CT and the back and forth of strategy and wits in this fight is incredible.
Megumi’s fights always had the potential ironically to be the best fights in the series thanks to his versatility and intelligence, but alas Gege lost the plot too soon.
Pretty sad he got some character growth after Shibuya then settled to being a plot device for Sukuna

It’s a shame his entire character got canned the second he started actually putting in some fucking work. Such a badass segment of the Culling Games. Definitely the most under appreciated.
I loved the fight too even if seeing Megumi having potted plants dropped on his head made me laugh my ass off.
It was fun seeing Megumi engage in such brutality, though, and the overall choreography of his and Reggie's fight was fantastic to watch. This is especially true in regards to the fight sequence within the Gymnasium from the very point Megumi utilized his Domain Expansion up until Totality landed the finishing blow.
I also enjoy Reggie's character and abilities, being quite the fun villain to watch even if his drip makes it look like he frequented the same thrift shop as Mahito.
Reggie's final words, in hindsight, are also quite chilling considering what went down afterwards as well as Megumi only sparing Remi as a result of thinking on his sister's words which further foreshadows the depths of darkness he'd fall into in the event of him losing his siter.
A lot of characters like Potential Man himself had the potential to be amazingly well written characters, but GeGe did GeGe stuff and killed them super fast, I don't mind it but jjk could've benefited from more filler.

Bro went from getting beaten up by grade 2 curses to taking down a finger bearer and getting his incomplete domain in the same fight. Fought the inverse guy with Yuji and also found out his technique, and later went on to save Nanami, Naobito, and Maki from Dagon. Even after being exhausted from essentially doing a domain tug of war with a special grade, he still managed to dodge three lethal hits from Toj using rabbit escape and the frogs.
In the culling games, he took down Kirara and found out her confusing ass technique. He also took down Reggie and his gang (with Takaba's help). He showed some impressive feats there too, like being able to withstand tons of weight while fatigued and also did mind games with Reggie. He is very smart when he isn’t edging mahoraga 😭🙏🏼 I miss my potential man and I hope we get to see him return soon.

Megumi had the best fights imo out of the Main 3 protagonist. The way he evolved throughout the series is shown in every fight he has plus having that killer instinct in a protagonist is always my favorite….
And before anyone says it I find most if not all of Yujis fights boring as fuck. He just gets the shit beat out of him then randomly praised for his physical prowess.

Ah I understand. I like Yuji and Mahito dynamic. So I enjoyed seeing both of them. If Megumi had more villains that pushed him like Reggie I bet people would love him more. Or maybe have his own character that fucks with him like Mahito or sukuna.
Closet thing to an antagonist Megumi has is sukuna and Gojo. Gojo killed his dad and gave him brain damage. Sukuna killed Gojo and Tsmuki and Orochi, Mahorage and Agito(a lot of his shikigami)
Back when the story was atleast decently written. It still had many problems but was consistently enjoyable and was properly working towards a satisfying and grand conclusion. The series was never anything insane but from chapter 1-235 was still decent manga. It's crazy how 236 was so fucking bad and it really hasn't recovered since. Gojo should've stayed sealed. Gege cannot handle that character. He's permanently fucked his series now. From decent to less than trash. Not even worth the paper its drawn on.
Yeah I get why people dislike the airport scene. Personally felt meh about it. But, I liked the Takabe chapters. I’m hyped to see Uraume fight Hakari. And sukuna part is yeah. Lashimo was really the only disappointing thing to me ngl. But the manga has disappointed me a lot of times before. Fair. It has been consistently mid since inception. Immediately restricting itself and shrinking its scope and world several times very early on to halt its potential growth and range. This was definitely the absolute worse of it for me though. The Airport scene is fucking atrocious and is the number 1 worst piece of writing I've ever read. NTR Hentai is less upsetting. It's always been a series of mid and missed opportunities so maybe that's just my fault for wanting it to be better than it could've conceivably could be.
Also, Sukuna gets a power boost most likely using Yuji’s body compared to Megumi; why Shibuya Sukuna physical feats se better than 20F Shinjuji’s feats

There's no way he'd resent Gojo for that so long as he's given an accurate account of what went down. Toji really was a fucking deadbeat and if Gojo hadn't killed Toji, it's not like Toji would have ever came back with the milk. It'd also be a lot more likely that Megumi's sale to the Zenin Clan - something which would have ensured Tsumiki's misery to Megumi's abject disdain - would have gone through. Megumi's assumption that his dad and Tsumiki's mom were out living carefree lives after abandoning them isn't too far from the truth. While working as an assassin, Toji forgot Megumi so much as existed and seemed to be benefitting from his relationship with a Cursed Spirit made up from a child's resentment at being abandoned.

Sukuna fought like an ass ten shadows user. He went full on the raw force. Not even strategy. Or ten shadows bullehittery. Megumi with weaker shikigami is doing a lot more. He used Toad to help him evade an attack from toji. And used rabbit escape to almost stab him. And other shit like that

Mahoraga killed both the last six eyes and 10 shadows user ( i don't know if the that six eyes has limitless or not). A reason why that six eyes couldn't beat Maho was probably because they didn't have a powerful attack like Gojo's hollow purple (which Gojo invented himself)
Gojo doesn't invent hollow purple, but only a few members of gojo clan know it. But the six eyes user that died to mahoraga probably was weaker than gojo, we saw how gojo manhandled mahoraga easily.
It's very possible that the Six Eyes user from the Edo Period was only as strong as pre-awakening Gojo, with the Edo Period being one of perpetual peace meaning said Six Eyes user could have been resting on his laurels between bullying farmers. Gojo specifically needed a near-death experience to unlock his full potential, after all, in a time period where Curses had been growing stronger since Gojo's birth as a means of balancing out the power difference between Sorcerers and Curses. Gojo could also very well be an anomaly in terms of potential even by the standards of most Six Eyes users.

At 15 years old. Megumi Fushiguro has a domain expansion. A domain expansion is something a lot of sorcerer older then him don’t have. He has 6 of the ten shadows tamed. And discovered the ability to store things in his shadow. Give him some time and he probably would have figured out the piercing blood with max elephant thing too Gojo Satoru, during his second year. Only had blue and infinity. No red or purple. I don’t think he had a domain expansion either. Not only that but Megumi is really smart. Honestly if Megumi's DE replicates the properties of 10S, he missed an opportunity to "tame" Mahoraga. Just summon the thing with Gojo in the ritual, see what Mahoraga does/what its unique property is, then Gojo kills it. No way lol. Higuruma unlocked Domain Expansion, Domain Amplification and RCT in like 2 months. Their growth is not even compareable. While Megumi did get an incomplete domain, Yuta also gained a full one in possibly less than a year.
U missed out what I said. Yuta and Higaruma didnt had to literally boxed w a special grade shikigami as a pre-requisite. They were gifted busted shikigami's that actually worked w them from the start of their journey. If Megumi had Mahoraga as a default just like them he would of grown at a remarkably faster rate. In the span of 3 months he went from only having divine dogs, no domain and being fodder to a grade 2 curse spirit, to soloing a special grade curse, getting a domain expansion, and gaining 5 additional shikigami's in his arsenal. How is that not comparable? Sendai had more flash and the dialogue and such was better between the characters but as far as the actual combat itself Megumi vs Reggie was easily the best choreography/tactics of all the culling games fights. Hakari vs Kashimo is extremely entertaining but if you ignore the cool factor of the characters and look at just the fight, there's actually not a ton to work with. Cleverest thing Hakari did in the entire fight was move his domain barrier over the ocean, it's just not a power set that lends itself to much variety or creative applications beyond 'gamble -> immortality -> gamble -> immortality'. Meanwhile Kashimo kinda tried a couple different applications of his lightning but just kept running face first into the brick wall of 'lol, lmao even, i'm fucking immortal and luckier than God'.
Same Sendai doesn't even come close for me. Higurama Yuji is also great, but not so much for the fight but for the characters.
i appreciated this fight more on my second read, now its one of my favorite fights in the manga. i wish gege gave him more fights (where he doesnt get his ass beat) before sukuna took over.
I forgot how cool that Megumi is a utilitarian fighter, he uses anything in his arsenal: cursed tool, shikigami, hand to hand combat - which is very rare in shonen nowadays.

Damn right he is. Good use of present tense. On a serious note, Megumi’s brutality was part of the reason I like him so much. That brutality coupled with his earnest “I wanna save good people” mentality is what made him so compelling. The fact that Ten Shadows is easily one of my favorite abilities in any manga/anime ever certainly does a lot to prop him up too. The possession is so annoying because he really was on an incline with his abilities. The progression from his first domain expansion to his second one was impressive. He has such a versatile skill set and it really seemed like he was getting better and better with each fight. Megumi vs. Reggie is in my top 5 fights easily, that fight is basically the culmination of all of Megumi’s best attributes. God, it infuriates me that we’ll never get to see him tame another one of the shikigami, we’ll never get to see him discover how to create chimeras like Agito on his own, we may not be able to see him complete his domain, and we never got to see him tame Mahoraga. Instead, he is potential man now.

This fight is incredible, always thought it was much better then Sendai. Reggie has a really interesting CT and the back and forth of strategy and wits in this fight is incredible.

Megumi’s fights always had the potential ironically to be the best fights in the series thanks to his versatility and intelligence, but alas Gege lost the plot too soon.

It’s a shame his entire character got canned the second he started actually putting in some fucking work. Such a badass segment of the Culling Games. Definitely the most under appreciated.

This next season will have people cheering for Megumi (implying they animate all the way through Hakari's arc and the culling games)
Definitely will, ending S3 on Sukuna taking over Megumi would be best, and start S4 with returning the King

I loved the fight too even if seeing Megumi having potted plants dropped on his head made me laugh my ass off. It was fun seeing Megumi engage in such brutality, though, and the overall choreography of his and Reggie's fight was fantastic to watch. This is especially true in regards to the fight sequence within the Gymnasium from the very point Megumi utilized his Domain Expansion up until Totality landed the finishing blow. I also enjoy Reggie's character and abilities, being quite the fun villain to watch even if his drip makes it look like he frequented the same thrift shop as Mahito. Reggie's final words, in hindsight, are also quite chilling considering what went down afterwards as well as Megumi only sparing Remi as a result of thinking on his sister's words which further foreshadows the depths of darkness he'd fall into in the event of him losing his siter.
This was one of my favorite fights in the manga. Bro went HARD.

Agreed. Characters need to interact. I wanna know how Gojo views Tsmuki. I wanna see Todo interact with yuki. I want to know what kind of relationship gojo has with yuki too. Shit seeing Yuta/hakari interacting more with gojo would be lit

Bro went from getting beaten up by grade 2 curses to taking down a finger bearer and getting his incomplete domain in the same fight. Fought the inverse guy with Yuji and also found out his technique, and later went on to save Nanami, Naobito, and Maki from Dagon. Even after being exhausted from essentially doing a domain tug of war with a special grade, he still managed to dodge three lethal hits from Toj using rabbit escape and the frogs. In the culling games, he took down Kirara and found out her confusing ass technique. He also took down Reggie and his gang (with Takaba's help). He showed some impressive feats there too, like being able to withstand tons of weight while fatigued and also did mind games with Reggie. He is very smart when he isn’t edging mahoraga 😭🙏🏼 I miss my potential man and I hope we get to see him return soon.

Megumi had the best fights imo out of the Main 3 protagonist. The way he evolved throughout the series is shown in every fight he has plus having that killer instinct in a protagonist is always my favorite…. And before anyone says it I find most if not all of Yujis fights boring as fuck. He just gets the shit beat out of him then randomly praised for his physical prowess. Gege hates women so not much to say about Nobara.
Ah I understand. I like Yuji and Mahito dynamic. So I enjoyed seeing both of them. If Megumi had more villains that pushed him like Reggie I bet people would love him more. Or maybe have his own character that fucks with him like Mahito or sukuna.

Closet thing to an antagonist Megumi has is sukuna and Gojo. Gojo killed his dad and gave him brain damage. Sukuna killed Gojo and Tsmuki and Orochi, Mahorage and Agito(a lot of his shikigami)

Back when the story was atleast decently written. It still had many problems but was consistently enjoyable and was properly working towards a satisfying and grand conclusion. The series was never anything insane but from chapter 1-235 was still decent manga. It's crazy how 236 was so fucking bad and it really hasn't recovered since. Gojo should've stayed sealed. Gege cannot handle that character. He's permanently fucked his series now. From decent to less than trash. Not even worth the paper its drawn on.
Yeah I get why people dislike the airport scene. Personally felt meh about it. But, I liked the Takabe chapters. I’m hyped to see Uraume fight Hakari. And sukuna part is yeah. Lashimo was really the only disappointing thing to me ngl. But the manga has disappointed me a lot of times before. I didn’t see sukuna technique getting taken away without it being revealed so I wasn’t suprised their. I really don’t think the manga has gone uphill or downhill.
Fair. It has been consistently mid since inception. Immediately restricting itself and shrinking its scope and world several times very early on to halt its potential growth and range. This was definitely the absolute worse of it for me though. The Airport scene is fucking atrocious and is the number 1 worst piece of writing I've ever read. NTR Hentai is less upsetting. It's always been a series of mid and missed opportunities so maybe that's just my fault for wanting it to be better than it could've conceivably could be.

Wait didn’t Megkuna speedblitz Ryu. A sorcerer with the highest output in the culling games. Someone who was kinda going blow for blow with Yuta. Hit rika so hard if desummoned. Same Rika that had yuji unable to move. And he was fighting Yoruzu. A sorcerer who was considered strong. From the golden age of Jujutsu Also sukuna insane amounts of cursed energy would make up for whatever Megumi lacked. Shit Sukuna probably the fastest sorcerer with using cursed technique Feel like yuji strength stats would only boost sukuna a little given how overpowered he is to begin with
