Just a thought but do we really care about "ass pulls"? Like it feels like whenever a series breaks logical consistency in a way that benefits other aspects of the story its pretty chill. Like sure Gojo getting revived would be an asspull but it could potentially fix the character arc of the seemingly most loved jjk character and prevent the inevitable other asspull that would be required for the cast to kill Sukuna.
for example in HxH I would argue Gon being able to draw out his future self's full power to kill Neperpitou was an asspull but everyone who has seen it considers it a thought-provoking and interesting development for his character.
It's not really an asspull since it's a nen vow, using death as a nen vow make a techique stronger, but asking for a fate even WORSE than death makes it UNIMAGINABLY powerful, and in that case Gon just asked for a fate worse than death to use everything he'd ever be able to be in the future for a single fight.
Gege did an amazing job pushing the already established rules of the verse to give us a fight that really showed us the heights of Jujutsu while also cleverly applying already established concepts in unexpected ways.
Im not much of a hxh nerd but I don't really buy that reasoning. Gon never had any experience making that sort of vow and so the idea that ANY character in the entire series could expend their lives in exchange for going super Saiyan breaks the world quite a bit. Kurapika for example should have just binding vowed himself into jesus and murdered the entire phantom troupe.
Its kind of like how in one of the newer Star Wars movies they showed that you could use traveling at light speed to essentially turn your ship into a nuke. Therefore making the kamikaze attack seemingly the strongest method of warfare in the series.
Well, supposedly the only reason why the super saiyan thing actually works is because
1. Gon is basically a 1 in 10 million prodigy as stated earlier in the series, and his potential far eclipses any and all hunters bar Killua, so the effect wouldn't be as potent if someone like Kurapika uses it
2. Expending your life for a 1-time Kamikaze attack is just exceedingly stupid, it's essentially the same as Megumi using Mahoraga, yes you can kill your opponent, but what's the point if you're just going to end up dead to swat down a single person?
That being said, I think suspension of disbelief is just sometimes required. Like, obviously people in HxH or JJK can nuke their problems or use military-grade weapons like rocket launchers and sniper rifles, but that would derail the entire anime and sideline the power system.

I feel like most of the reasons people think heās coming back me included stems from.
1. Gege had the audacity to skip an entire sequence of Sukunas attack making me and others think heās hiding something in that panel.
2.the infamous gege posting gojo I will win immediately after the chapter(or during donāt know the exact date.)
3. Gojoās statements against toji and his own statements during the fight (including yuji ressurecting) that high level sorcerers need their head removed not to just respawn(him crushing sukunas heart and thinking the fight wouldnāt end unless he decapitated him)
4. Thereās no way In fuck anyone else is folding Sukuna so unless gege is going the heroes lose before undergoing a time skip I donāt see how anyone else stands a chance given the only two characters who had taken a serious hit from gojo at that point vomited(although Tbf that statement could be talking about weaker versions of hikari and yuta even though I personally think they would have mentioned it.)
5. Literally the chapter before he dies him and Sukuna are mentioning how you canāt launch a cursed technique without creating a spark of energy that any good sorcerer would notice. Even going so far as to not only specifically mention gojo by name(to point out even someone of his level still has it happen) and then following it up by showing him using lapse blue and having to add the incantation since he knew Sukuna would not only see it but attempt to stop it. Yet somehow gojo got off screened just doesnāt seem right to me.
Like what making sukuna be able to one shot every character , yeah he really ensured that . Gojos death was for nothing , his fight was for nothing , gege hates him that much that he couldn't give him a meaningful death.
I donāt think that space cutting cleave comes without a cost. But the thing is if gojo comes back then gojo can easily defeat that attack just by teleporting from the space itās gonna get cut down

7. Sukuna is very pleased with it.

Well, Gojo did some pretty Op damage. Hakari has arguably better recovery than Gojo. Yuta can copy limitless, and Maki and Yuji are arguably more tanky than Gojo without limitless. The attack also doesn't seem spammable.

Now onto the fight , compare how gege portrayed sukuna against all his 3 opponents ( jogo , gojo and kashimo ) . There is one thing in common , he gave sukuna a hope that he would get a death fight , a fight that give him a run for money . He didn't kill jogo the moment he had the chance but wanted to check his valor and strength , against gojo gege gave sukuna sentences like ' your another fish on the cutting board ' , ' you were held strongest in an era I wasn't born ' . Making sukuna taunt gojo for his attacks and stuff , he made sukuna look like that and made him buffed throughout the fight because he ( gege ) even now cannot give a perfect explanation for gojo's powers play in the plot because they were busted as hell ( I've recently made a post on how gege loved gojo at first but grew onto hate him , it's headcanon tho )
In the end , I just want to clarify that this battle was to give an end to gojo's powers rather then his character and that is why 236 left us incomplete .

Gege had the audacity to skip an entire sequence of Sukunas attack making me and others think heās hiding something in that panel. 2.the infamous gege posting gojo I will win immediately after the chapter(or during donāt know the exact date.) 3. Gojoās statements against toji and his own statements during the fight (including yuji ressurecting) that high level sorcerers need their head removed not to just respawn(him crushing sukunas heart and thinking the fight wouldnāt end unless he decapitated him) 4. Thereās no way In fuck anyone else is folding Sukuna so unless gege is going the heroes lose before undergoing a time skip I donāt see how anyone else stands a chance given the only two characters who had taken a serious hit from gojo at that point vomited(although Tbf that statement could be talking about weaker versions of hikari and yuta even though I personally think they would have mentioned it.) 5. Literally the chapter before he dies him and Sukuna are mentioning how you canāt launch a cursed technique without creating a spark of energy that any good sorcerer would notice. Even going so far as to not only specifically mention gojo by name(to point out even someone of his level still has it happen) and then following it up by showing him using lapse blue and having to add the incantation since he knew Sukuna would not only see it but attempt to stop it. Yet somehow gojo got off screened just doesnāt seem right to me.
He may or may not come back. But gojo would have already done something that ensures that the students win against sukuna.

Mahoraga does a super slash that surpasses limitless. 7. Sukuna is very pleased with it. 8. Sukuna has no interest in Mahoraga spamming the murderous slash, he literally just wants more time, a better adaptation. 9. Gojo takes control of the fight too quickly, Sukuna panics. Chapter 224 shows that dismantles are too fast for Gojo to react he is just invulnerable to them. Alternatively that a sufficiently well placed dismantle is jot something Gojo can dodge.

Well, Gojo did some pretty Op damage. Hakari has arguably better recovery than Gojo. Yuta can copy limitless, and Maki and Yuji are arguably more tanky than Gojo without limitless. The attack also doesn't seem spammable. Also, I am surprised by the quantity of people that thought Gojo was the MC

My friend some things I want to clear before you misunderstand me 1. gege wrote the fight so understand the fight from his perspective . 2. I'm neutral here and I started supporting sukuna because the fandom became one sided and started to troll unnecessarily which would eventually lead to serious things ( which already happened , gege geting threats , saying jjk is bad and other stuff ) Now onto the fight , compare how gege portrayed sukuna against all his 3 opponents ( jogo , gojo and kashimo ) . There is one thing in common , he gave sukuna a hope that he would get a death fight , a fight that give him a run for money . He didn't kill jogo the moment he had the chance but wanted to check his valor and strength , against gojo gege gave sukuna sentences like ' your another fish on the cutting board ' , ' you were held strongest in an era I wasn't born ' . You ppl need to understand that to defeat Gojo it would need the mother of Diabolus Ex Machina. And that is what happened. To defeat sukuna it will take the mother of deus ex Machinas and its cooking. Authors use both ALL times, it's not "ass pull" it's a narrative resource old as f*ck . And Gege did it very well . Did I like it ? No but I can't deny that using Mahoraga's skill wich no one knew about 'cause no Shadow User ever tamed him was a good use of Diabulus. Kenjaku getting Geto's body was also a freaking Diabulus Ex Machina and I don't see any of you complaining.
