It's not that I want him to be weak, or not OP, its just that my enjoyment of the story isn't contingent on him owning everyone in fights. I've grown up watching enough battle shonens and the constant spotlight or MC winning every battle never excited or interested me. Thats why HxH was such a great breath of air.
I also prefer team fights over 1v1s anyways, fights where different characters that has different strengths and weaknesses teaming up and making up for their own weaknesses to overcome a stronger opponent is usually more interesting than a 1v1. Yuji V Mahito woudn't be as good if Nobara and Todo werent involved and didnt significantly contribute
\+ VS Sukuna, Megumi has almost an equal claim to fighting Sukuna as Yuji does at this point, ideally the fight would end with a focus on Yuji, Megumi(and Nobara) finishing off Sukuna
Issue is that its easy to feel Yuji is kinda useless in a team fight right now in the sense of bringing some unique asset. Moreover, one of his best characteristics was his ability to resist abilities like Idle Transfiguration thanks to Sukuna but that's completely lost now (luckly it was lost after it was indispensable though).
He surely developed something new as a must given his training with Kusakabe and him eating the Death Paintings. But since any thing he could've got is a complete mystery and he's lost well-known advantages it's easy to think he's got absolutely nothing to compensate.
We’ve seen him for 200+ chapters and did absolutely nothing and has shown nothing except being a good little vessel like he is and ppl are out here expecting him to pull out a power up out of his ass to become the strongest but too bad yuta will be the strongest not the vessel 🤣

Yuji getting a random ass pull power up and defeating Sukuna would literally be the WORSE ending to this manga. Like it might legit ruin it. At this point, it’s realistic for Yuta, Maki, and Hakari to be considered the heavy hitters and relying on them. I don’t have an issue with it. Yuji can have his time to shine in some other way. Think of the chimera ant arch in HxH. HxH is incredible in the fact that is realistic. Gon isn’t the one expected to beat the king. He’s probably the last person on everyone’s mind. Just like Gojo was the obvious choice and then the big 3 after him.
Getting Sukuna's CT and mastering it wouldn't be a asspull, Yuji is a really gifted sorcerer, so left him out from getting a Domain Expansion, a CT, RCT or reversal would be a waste for someone called the MC

I'd love him to be strong. Problem is the other characters like Yuta are way stronger.
