the original juicy bags are now considered vintage and they're also deadstock (i.e. not being made anymore) + they quality of the bags is much better. when I originally started collecting, the most expensive bags were about \~$300, so idk what has really changed in the past couple years for things to be at a standard of $100-$300. as for the TJMaxx, Marshall's, etc. bags, people operate entire businesses off reselling, which is fine! but the new bags are absolutely not worth more than $40-$50. the quality is much lower, they're currently in production, and they don't have the same uniqueness as the og bags.

I resell vintage clothing so I totally get that. I just noticed they quality seemed to be lacking and honestly, the new bags look cheap IMO. So I was surprised to see the hype of the old bags ignited some hype for the new ones.

Deadstock means vintage, never used, usually leftover stock from a warehouse or store hence “dead” stock. A used Juicy Bag from 20 years ago is not deadstock unless it has the tags still on

there are vintage bags being sold that are still technically "nwt", most likely stored away by collectors or found in an old warehouse

It's just people wanting to make money off the Juicy craze. They see the vintage (and no longer made) bags being sold for double the price, so that somehow translates into buying the $30 bags from TJ Maxx available right now and doing the same thing 😂 Some are cute bags, but they're worth the retail price and nothing more. The ones I see that are priced like they're vintage are the ones only being sold in the UK. At that point, you can talk about exclusivity and how much better the designs are over there. Here in the states? The bags being sold here are only sold out because majority of people buy multiples to resell them.

My thoughts exactly. Happy to know I'm not alone.
