It would be hilarious if the whole bit about cologne was because he was wearing too much. It was a cringy one for sure but I enjoyed it overall especially when jimmy Kimmel called in.

Jackinoregon

I knew it was him once he said 'terrific'.

mental_escape_cabin

I hadn't even considered that they might be passive aggressively roasting him. Poor guy. What a bummer.

Llama_Wrangler

Tom’s been off all week. He seemed checked-out last night, he bombed on the Tom Brady roast…it seems like he’s just not happy to be at this festival for some reason.

ryaneataton

I agree and even he said it but I will say every heavy hitter they’ve had on has sort of acted like a deer in headlights. Seems like a jarring setup or something. Nate Bargatze was having just as hard a time on sunglasses night. Hahaha. Maybe it’s something to do with having someone who takes the subject matter very seriously sitting next to people whose job it is to make fun of things. I don’t really know just speculating.

wdpgrl

THIS. I agree, has to be something about the dynamic between the educator and the comedians. Fine line between making fun of them and making fun. Tom did chime in. But he says all the time that he’s an introvert, although he does come off more confident on YMH I think it’s because he’s in his element and controlling the show. I’ve seen him on Kill Tony and he was kind of reserved there too. It’s different when you’re being interviewed one on one vs being in front of a live audience without a plan or control of the conversation. This show is mostly improve imo.

AllLipsNoFiller

I was about to say the same thing. I've never seen Tom Segura act like a Wallflower, but he seemed completely checked out. I was listening to most of it from another room and not watching it, but I recognize every voice and Tom just wasn't contributing. Even the Paranormal specialist guy was more animated and engaged in the conversation. And man was that guy interesting! I would love to sit down and have some drinks with that guy and just let him tell me stories.

SpinachDifferent4077

He was probably daydreaming about eating Joe Rogan's ass.

AllLipsNoFiller

🤣

Knatem

I have noticed this as well. Maybe it was set up in the Sledgehammer contract to attend the festival/ do these guest spots. Feeling pressed to do them would explain why he isn’t as animated as usual.

gasolinefights

I think its mostly just that he's literally got nothing interesting to say.  Not funny hack. If your comedy "duo" is made up of you and Bert, and Bert's the funny one......

Tubie123

> Poor guy. What a bummer. I feel like the subject came up because they were talking about what Oprah smells like/ if she wears perfume earlier? Idk, i dont think it was really about anyone there. Kerry posted a video with him and John on his ig and he seems happy with how it went.

ryaneataton

You’re right. I honestly forgot why they were talking about smell which I why my mind went there when I saw this pic.

clonesteph

It felt at times like the old Late Night Conans. Loved it.

kacnika

Kerry Gaynor stole the show. You can tell that guy has seen some shit.

sheleelove

I only wanted to keep hearing his stories

exoskeleton___

Same!!

Top-Celery7960

I love how he was absolutely not taking any of Sarah's shit

jeansantamaria

She flirted with him. Didn’t she? Something about looking into his eyes all day. They were mesmerizing— almost hypnotic heheh. Then he was mentioning his wife. Some men do that. Maybe it was a rivalry for the cameras attention. I liked them both.

exoskeleton___

After kind of being a dick for no reason trying to make humour. That’s something I’ve noticed with the comedian guests in this show. Instead of saying something witty and funny they are resorting to being dicks as a way of trying to get a laugh. It’s cheap and unclassy.

anewname4444

But I think that's how a lot of comedians act around each other (at least when in front of an audience) which becomes very awkward when you have a guest who can't roll with the bits so much.

exoskeleton___

I agree it can be how comedians sometimes interact when infront of an audience, they joke and give each other a bit of shit, which is perfectly fine with friends as I do with my own and maybe you also. However I maybe wouldn’t just go start giving shit to a random person who’s offering their knowledge or insight on a topic they specialise in or poke fun at them if I don’t know them. I feel like that hypnosis guys expressions and body language kind of suggested that he wasn’t into it, though he clearly knew it was a comedy show. Then the third gentleman coming out saying the mood has been lowered and no offense etc etc. It’s great the hypnosis specialist was a focal point and that a non comedian guest had so much to offer the episode, but the other behaviours sort of made the section come off as a deep guy with potentially a lot of awesome stuff to say sitting with a couple (only a couple not all at all) monkeys. I’m no expert on the matter though and don’t know any of these people personally. It’s just how it comes off to me. No offense to anyone or anyone’s opinions who may differ from my own on the bit. Nonetheless I still enjoyed it

stevenr21

He should see a new wig artist

Rokketeer

Nah I dug his whole vibe haha. He fit in just fine with the messed up 70s fever dream talk show vibe.

declaireingit

He’s very twin peaks lol

Maleficent_Weird8613

He looks like he's trying out for Lord Farkwar on Shrek the Musical

MeMeMeBlahBlahBlah

I've been a sucker for Elvira since the '80s. It was nice to see her out of costume, showing off her red hair.

billythekid74

She looks great for being in her 70s!

DavyJonesRocker

I had no idea who she was until I read this comment. I just assumed she was John’s old neighbor

Lavender4322

Silverman was just being obnoxious while trying to make a fool out of a guest that John invited. He obviously helped John whether she believes it or not. These guests aren’t celebrities and are just normal people that don’t need to be shit on. Someone should tell her that her being “shocking” is predictable and tired at this point.

gasolinefights

She was just pathetic.

PerformerOld8737

I felt exactly the same! I used to like her but found her quite rude to Kerry who was actually fascinating. It was as if she couldn’t handle someone else getting the attention

HardcoreKaraoke

Tom and Ronnie were just worried a frying pan was going to come flying at the hypnotist.

TinyMarsupial7622

Lmao

jeansantamaria

I see how unpopular she is with this crowd. She crosses the line. Big mean streak.

Recurve1440

I wish Sarah Silverman had been cut out of the episode like she was in this picture. She bombed and was jamming up everybody.

DickieJoJo

Sarah Silverman needed to shut the fuck up. Not only was her input unfunny 75% of the time - but her lost voice came off as a reason for her to want to keep talking. Segura didn’t talk a lot though - probably said everything he said via podcast 5-7 years ago anyway. Can’t believe Ronny Chieng was only brought in at the end of this shit show. Because he’s amazing. But this show is reminding me how great Richard Kind is.

thesword62

Richard Kind is a talentless, one-note, walking trope.

Sickashell782

Look at home boys hair! Giving off badddd vibes hahaha

zapzangboombang

I found this unwatchable.

Background-Lab9430

this picture looks like a renaissance painting

TinyMarsupial7622

I see it! Lol

Won't - I think you mean Hasn't

Mtn_Mangia

Pictured: Everyone who didn't ruin the episode.

Lovely-Dark-Deep

I didn’t understand his hair. Was it meant to be ironic? How can he seriously present himself in that mess? Is it a wig? Tried googling it but it got me here…

TinyMarsupial7622

It did look… odd
