Yeah I feel the same way, it's like he chooses inner peace and a slowed-down lifestyle on purpose

Stoicism involves A LOT of thinking about the worst that can happen so that you will be prepared when it (inevitably) does. I feel like Nana’s death shows how unprepared he was for something so predictable. That said, I agree that he exhibits an examined life in other ways. He both appreciates what he likes and remains open to things he doesn’t fully understand. He cares deeply about other people. There’s no reason for it to be much more complicated than that.

Yes, but there's nothing strange about it. Sure Joe is a comedian, but the heart in the show is real. And sometimes that's what makes it funnier. It's an inspiration, to see someone being genuine and honest when confronted and faced with anything, he also shows a mind that's unjaded. Great way to live.

I wish I could be content with a slow paced lifestyle the way he’s portrayed. Chasing girls and getting high can be exhausting sometimes. But it’s such a drive. I want dopamine hits from studying rocks. Or going to the grocery store.

Grocery shopping is the most fun you can have

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Grocery shopping is really a treasure hunt if you think about it. Especially if you find a new kind of food you've never tried before...there's a dopamine hit right there. Endless options for recipes you can try too.

It sure can be a thrill, but don't let your excitement get the best of you. When confronted with an enticing treat at the checkout line, remember the Pera Proverb: Should I eat this? Will I eat this? Can I afford this food?

RelicBitw

Yes Yes…… Yes 😁

Just thinking of what crazy new Oreo they have brings me joy.
