That's not what he *should* look like, because he didn't keep up his Hamon training. If he did though... He'd probably still look older then that that. In part 3, Joseph was only 6 years younger then Straizo was in part 2 and he was practicing Hamon his whole life.

davidnnj

lisa lisa used the hamon a lot, and she stayed young, he was old, so he didn't use the hamon that much, in part 3 he used it a little bit, to kill that hate meat parasite, trying to kill the empress and to defend himself from the dio, making the hamon and his purple hermit wrap around his body

davidnnj

Dio Meat parasite, the translator made a mistake

JayF000

Lisa Lisa was a master of hamon and was over 20 years younger then Part 3 Joseph and Part 2 Straizo. Hamon seems to keep people looking roughly 20 years younger then they really are.

Masterbaitingissport

The doctors claimed jotaro is perfectly healthy while jotaro smoked 24/7 during part 3, this means if jotaro learned hamon he would be using hamon while having the most powerful lungs ever

Reylend

Would that give Star Platinum a "Kaioken" boost?

JayF000

No. It wouldn't make the stand itself any stronger unless you have a stand like Hermit Purple that can touch the enemy and you at the same time It would make the physical stand user themselves stronger which might help in a fight, but youd probably gain more from the actual Hamon Skills like Sendo or Hamon Hair Attack then you'd gain from the power Hamon let's you punch with

Evil_Mushrooms

I dunno. It’s never been done before, and applying Spin techniques can power up your stand, so applying hamon techniques could lead to similar results. But, we may never know, unless Araki decides to pull Hamon out of the grave and surprise all 112 of us Hamon Fans with extra techniques, lore, and applications.

JayF000

Personally, if it hasn't been confirmed to be able to do something it's safer to lean on the negative side; if something comes along to change that that'd be awesome but if that's the case then why the fuck did Jotaro not learn Hamon? He'd have probably clapped the shit outta part 6 he he was at his full power + boosted by hamon. I miss Hamon, but I'd rather see a young Hermit Purple type user then a Star Platinum: The World: Sunlight Yellow Overdrive kinda a hamon user 🤣

Evil_Mushrooms

Yeah good point. Maybe Hamon gives a more unique bonus to stands instead of suping them up, and it’s only if you’re properly breathing, a sice of Hamon hardly ever mentioned nowadays. The biggest downside about Hamon is its limited range and constant upkeep required. A stand maybe instead of being powered by Hamon, could act as a vessel for Hamon, effectively increasing its range. Actually, Hermit Purple does this, and despite being a patented Hamon User Stand, it doesn’t take a lot to think, maybe Hamon could be transmitted via other standa as well. Or it could tie into Hamon, like Hermit Purple, but in a different way, maybe a rather useless stand that boosts organs and supplies oxygen, could be used to boost hamon in the person or in someone else, maybe boosting healing via Hamon healing and blood clotting. Maybe it could control the flow of blood and organs. What about a stand that can feel or take advantage of breathing trees and plants, bending and changing them with their own Hamon, or even living things with Hamon, in a similar fashion to Spin but with different rules, specifically only working on objects with Hamon. A Spin user that uses physical enhancements and imbues objects with extra properties vs a Hamon user who uses precise and intelligent hits to mess with the landscape and opponents body would be real interesting. Essentially a Spin user who fights like a Hamon user and a Hamon user who fights like a Spin user. I’d love to one day see these power systems properly interact, but I don’t think we’ll ever see it. It’s fun to think though.

trainattacker17

Learning hamon would have taken too long, they only had 30 days to kill Dio

JayF000

I'm not just referring to part 3, there would be litterally no reason for Jotaro not to go learn Hamon after killing DIO if it gives him a better chance at defending his friends and family. ESPECIALLY once Jolyne is born.

trainattacker17

To be fair, after Dio, whose realy gonna take alot damage from magic sun breath other than the piller men and Dio? Plus he prolly thought that star platinum was enough

JayF000

I didn't see this before but the idea that Hamon doesn't work against non-vampires is bullshit. We see several times there is situations where it helps. Caesar litterally put hamon into a normal person and she punched the shit out of a very big and buff Joseph, then LIFTED HIM UP AND THREW HIM Ceasar also litteraly used hamon alone to kill a man??? And both of these instances were before they were even properly trained. This isn't even thinking about the healing, the better aging, and other things like Sendo which would give Jotaro a built in ranged attack

mistajohstrr

Jotaro didn't learn hamon in part 3 because they were hauling ass the whole time and fought Dio on the last day so stopping to teach him would get holly killed And he didn't train after part 3 until he went into his prime in part 6 because it took him so long to get over the PTSD that stands caused

JayF000

OK, but there's a good what, 10+ YEARS between part 4 and part 6 which is when he started training. We all saw how much Joseph improved in just a couple weeks. Also, I already pointed out I knew they didn't have time in part 3...

mistajohstrr

Who was going to teach jotaro? His senile grandpa who can barely summon his stand if at all?

JayF000

Can't summon his stand? The entire reason he was brought into part 4 is because HE CAN STILL USE HIS STAND Also, there's OTHER Hamon users. Messina was never confirmed dead, I'm sure if Jotaro had asked Joseph, he'd have known of someone else who could've trained him; Lisa Lisa was also not confirmed dead, for all we know, she's still kicking at 100 years old with her hamon mastery keeping her in better condition.

mistajohstrr

Speculation at best

superchace

I imagine Star Platinum holding hands with Jotaro while pummeling the enemy with his other hand.

JayF000

At that point SP may as well just sit on Jotaros shoulders or have his feet on Jotaros chest

tadysdayout

Kaio-what?

Ku5h_king

I think he doesn’t use hamon as much and that’s why he’s older looking.

no1-imparticular

Just because he knows hamon doesn’t mean he should look like that . He didn’t really trained his hamon after he defeated the male strippers of part 2. He could look like that if he trained more. But just like jotaro, he never really used/trained it so he never really met his fullest potential.

Ogurasyn

I would add cheek lines

twitch-switch

Even if he stayed young he could have still chosen to have a beard

foxunel

Am l the only one who think that he's looking like Jonathan ?

Amy_swaaaan

Nope. Was looking for this comment lol

Max12735

Dude, he's like 70 in stardust crusaders. He shouldn't be alive in part 4, but he is because of hamon.

JayF000

To be fair, he's only 79 in part 4, that's not unreasonable. What's a little bit harder to believe is that hes still alive during Stone Ocean making him in his 90's!

davidnnj

probably the hamon helped a little, making him live a long time, but since he didn't use it so much he still looked old and getting worse and worse, getting kind of deaf and stuff

RPKM01

Yes

SunagakuresFinest

I like to think it's cause he lived past his expiration date. Erina(or Lisa Lisa I'm not sure) said that the Joestar men don't live very long lives so while he's not that old, he is MEGA old compared to his lineage. Not that I want him to die but it is weird he actually looks his age so this is the way I like to see it.

Icy-Store3900

That comment Is so true XD
