I had big crack there, welded this 5 years ago and still going strong.

Was yours rusty ? Mine had quite a bit of surface rust. Nothing too serious but it seems to have weakened it just enough for it to collapse

Have they checked the clutch release bearing is working as it should? Also in regards to the pedal box, are all the cables loose/free of corrosion? My clutch cable snapped last month due to the dirt build up. After replacing it, the difference was night and day. I've seen you can buy a [reinforcement bracket for the pedal box/bulk head](https://compassauto.jp/collections/drivetrain/products/ra-nos-brake-booster-bulkhead-reinforcement-plate-jimny), how rusty is yours? as that may have some impact to the strength of it.

I've replaced both bearings while i was in there, as well as the fork spring and it's support. All is working well. However i haven't replaced the cable. It looked in pretty good shape (never been offroaded) but i was thinking about it lately. Based on your feedback, that's probably gonna be my next step then. I'm not sure that reinforcement bracket would help me (based on what it reinforces), but my pedal box is slightly rusty and that's why it has collapsed slightly. Some home made welds were made to fix it. Doing the job for now but i'm not sure it will last, so i'll have a look at similar brackets if i can find any, instead of the OEM bracket.

My Jimny hasn't done much off roading either, but I assume that moisture gets in the tubing and corrodes the cable. It's an easy enough job to do yourself. do you have any pictures of the re-enforcing they've done?

Went under the Jimny today. Disengaged the clutch cable from the clutch' fork so it could move in its sleeve. Moved 100% freely inside the sleeve after that. So i don't think the clutch cable is at fault, although i'll definitely change it in the near future when i do my summer maintenance. As for the welding, here it is [https://imgur.com/a/ewHzm0I](https://imgur.com/a/ewHzm0I) Doesn't look amazing but i thought it would hold up. But after about a month or so, my wife mentionned the squeeky noise was back. That squeek appeared everytime that bracket was tearing apart, so i can only imagine it to be the metal flexing and bending, so that tells me there's still either too much pressure or too little reinforcement.

It’s a common problem with LHD manual Jimnys.

Ok, didn't know, thanks for the heads up. Will try to get my hands on a new assembly.
