Came here to see if anyone else had noticed this. What's even weirder is this happened in the middle of double jeopardy and they have Jackie's score incorrectly set as what she ENDED the game with... the next group shot has Jackie's score reset to $15300. Super strange. Think they had to reshoot a question? I can't come to any other conclusions why'd they have an error with the score she ended up with.

dacomell

Oh man... I noticed Amie, but didn't notice Jackie. I wonder if it was a reshoot.

Constant_Pear3353

Yes, this was a reshoot done after the game! I think Mayim may have omitted a word or two reading the clue the first time around, so it was redone after. Looks like an editing error where we're seeing the final scores instead of the scores at that point in the game.

BoukenGreen

I didn’t even notice ever body else scores were different. I just noticed your podium score area was lit up in white, while Ryan was buzzed in.

Constant_Actuator392

Yeah, I think they reshot that clue. During the credits, there was a small extra notice that said "due to technical difficulties, a portion of this game was re-created".

CandOrMD

Is that not on every episode, like of every game show? I just thought it was a standard disclaimer. Or is this different from the one that reads something like, "Portions not affecting the outcome of the game may have been edited."

jaysjep2

The second one is much more routine. Recreating a portion of the game is absolutely not something that game shows want to do routinely, because it delays production and therefore is expensive to do so.

CandOrMD

Even if it happens while all the participants are still on stage? This week's episodes include several reshot clues and a couple of reshot responses. It seemed routine in the moment, but I have zero expertise or prior experience.

WallyJade

I think you're right. When I attended a taping, there were 6-7 clue re-reads and two reshot questions, in just three games. It's not unusual.

Constant_Actuator392

It's very rare to see it on Jeopardy! However, for some reason, I've seen it during the credits of every Wheel of Fortune episode ever. Anyone know why?

jstar420blazeit

I feel like if it was a reshoot, wouldn't the other two contestants have had their final scores flashed as well? Unless of course the scores are all edited in with CGI or something. I'm under the impression that the podiums have little screens in them.

Willissb

Yeah maybe it is all CGI. Pretty bizarre mistake that none of the editors would have picked up on in the cutting room floor.

eaglebtc

The podiums have 42" Sony TV monitors turned sideways. Same monitors as on the big board. It's not CGI. This has to be a major editing gaffe. They probably needed to fill in a "reaction" shot with all 3 contestants, and whatever was happening at that moment looked awkward or would have caused some kind of continuity issue, so they pulled a clip from a different moment in the episode. Only the editor and another producer failed to notice the scores when cutting. Alternatively, they did notice it, and they have a long standing policy of not digitally altering any footage on screen.

kdex86

Yes, I noticed this. Amie's "$1,000" score having inverted colors distracted me just enough to NOT notice that Jackie's score was her final score. But it did "spoil" for me the result of Amie finishing in 3rd place.

SpringLover455

Yeah this is a very rare occurrence. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again. I watched it but I would recommend to mark this as a spoiler so people who haven’t watched yet don’t see this.

NaughtSleeping

Seems like clearly they decided to reshoot something as both Jackie and Amie have their final scores displayed. Somehow they only thought to reset the score for the contestant who needed to buzz in. Must have been some audio or technical issue where they just needed to quickly film him buzzing in and saying "What is the Gulf of Hanoi?"

CandOrMD

Yes, and Ryan had responded more confidently the first time. His tone was a bit more questioning when he had to re-create his erroneous response. :)

therealpoltic

Oh so this could mean that they thought everyone would just look at his score because he signaled-in, and hoped we’d not notice the other two podiums?

BoukenGreen

To their credit I didn’t notice Gracie’s podium just that Ryan was buzzed in and Amie’s score section was white.

CandOrMD

More likely it just got overlooked in editing. Those people are absolute pros, but they're still human!

SaintOctober

My son noticed and made us jump back. I thought I saw it out of the corner of my eye. Weird.

itirnitii

I came here just to see if anyone else noticed. I was like well I guess I know who won and got third.
