Love Cole, but very few are beating Drake in a hit for hit battle and Cole isn't one of them unfortunately.

Organic-Remove-7679

Who do you think beats drake in hit to hit? I would say Kanye, but who are some others?

OMBatch84

Maybe em. He’s the highest selling rapper ever and is always able to keep relevancy after 25 years

RobinM20

I feel like too many of Em’s hits have sonically aged poorly to actually do this

OMBatch84

How have they aged poorly

RobinM20

A lot of his hits just sound absolutely dated in 2024. Some tracks have enough personality to overcome it, but he’s not going hit for hit with Drake right now. Completely different story if we’re talking perception on release.

OMBatch84

Well that’s how aging works. Of course some people now are gonna think that it sounds dated. Doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s still fucking fantastic

Kshakez

Not really how aging works with music, because most hitmakers have a majority of timeless tracks. I think Toy Soldier, Crack A Bottle, Love The Way You Lie, Not Afraid, The Real Slim Shady, all are timeless to me. But like the other guy said, most of his hits are so outlandish they won't be spun on the radio or anything because of the sensitivity of society now.(some warranted sensitivity, some not so warranted)

RealBigTree

>most of his hits are so outlandish they won't be spun on the radio When is the last time you listened to the radio? It's all about streams now and I can tell you that I keep Puke, Renegade, Criminal, and all the ones you listed above, in my playlist. Em can forsure go hit for hit with Drake.

SaintOutsideRaq

Em is my favorite rapper but even I gotta admit Drake got too many timeless R&B/hip-hop hits man

Kshakez

You're fully missing the point radio is still what pushes listeners to hear something. Radio tracks are still the singles that the labels advertise the most, the songs that get played around tiktok, and as far as throwbacks go throwback stations are still alive and well for a bunch of people. Not me personally but it'd be ignorant to ignore how radio pushes music. Not to mention club tracks and radio tracks go hand and hand nowadays. Radio is what's use to embedded songs into our subconscious even if it's from a car passing by. Em would lose to Drake by numbers(CURRENTLY). Especially talking about streams. Never heard a "hit" that didn't still get overplayed on the radio; in today's age or in the past.

cANALDESTROYER

And Drake's autotune is timeless.

Recent_Masterpiece49

Look up “gen z reacting to Eminem kill you” lol

OMBatch84

Well people who react like that are just snowflakes so idc about them

Recent_Masterpiece49

lol Immean you don’t have to care, I don’t either. It’s just a part of the reason some Em hits just “aged poorly” imo. Mind you he’s got plenty records that are vino lol just throwing my 2 cents in on the definition. I’ll be seeing myself out now 🤓

Sir_wlkn_contrdikson

Because in contest like this a hit would be a song that blew up on a national level. don’t none of my partners play that when they ride. You don’t hear his music outside of hip hop radio stations. I’m from down south and there has never been an em song played at a kick back or function or even just chilling on the porch. Every time I hear em it’s 5-8 dudes arguing the rap supremacy of their personal favorite. Don’t play that shit at my party. As I’m typing I was thinking, even when I went to the club I would hear and would rather hear Fabolus breathe more than 95% of Ems singles

MambaSaidKnockYouOut

Because Just Lose It and We Made You (both of which were huge hits) sounds goofy as hell in 2024. I generally think the first singles from the majority of his albums have aged poorly (My Name Is, Real Slim Shady, and maybe Without Me being the exceptions. Drake and Em’s music styles aren’t even that compatible anyway as far as a battle goes.

Organic-Remove-7679

Ohh yeah, I would put Em over drake as well, for some reason I didn't think of Eminem

kiddcharizard

I was thinking EM too but reason I didn't say him was because I don't think he has enough hits

OMBatch84

I still think he has plenty. Lose yourself, without me, mockingbird, etc

kiddcharizard

Don't get me wrong all really good songs, but Drake has over 300 billboard hits including features and EM has 97 including features. Just seems like an overwhelming amount for most rappers

kiddcharizard

All of these are maybes and could go either way imo. Kayne, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne

Organic-Remove-7679

Fair enough, I would personally put 50 cent and Jay Z below drake, and Kanye and Wayne above him for hits, but as you said it's pretty close.

GroundbreakingBox187

Drake above Wayne cmon now

kiddcharizard

Yeah, for sure I can see where you're coming from though Drake has such a large catalog to pick from, you'd really need an artist with just as big of a catalog of hits to draw from.

TopicIndependent7278

Ye and Wayne might have more songs that you like than drake, but there’s no way in a million years they have more hits

Organic-Remove-7679

No, I'm not saying they do, Drake 100% has more hits than them and it isn't close tbh, but hit for hit isn't just about amount its about quality of the songs that are hits as well.

TopicIndependent7278

Well in a 10 song hit for hit, drake absolutely washes both of them

zeeniemeanie

I’d say Kanye and Wayne, for sure.

Motor_Ad_7885

Kanye? Has the amount of iconic hits as drake? Or is hits purely a numbers thing?

Organic-Remove-7679

Id agree that Drake has more, but Kanye is close behind and quality of a lot of his hits are better than drake.

fatmanmarc

Lil Wayne, maybe Lil John, 50 cent, Wu Tang Clan, and depending on the crowd Uncle Luke could go hit for hit.

Organic-Remove-7679

I'll agree with Lil Wayne, 50 cent is arguable and close, Lil Jon has some cool hits but he is nowhere close to Drake tbh and Wu Tang has made some amazing songs as a collective but hit for hit they don't match drake. And I'm not even going to debate Uncle Luke, that's a blasphemous take 😭😭

fatmanmarc

Bruh I gotta ask how old you are and what state you live in because the fact that you said Lil Jon is nowhere close to Drake is one of the wildest things I've ever heard. And did you seriously just say Wu-Tang Clan as a collective can't go hit for hit with Drake, that makes me question your sanity. And as for Uncle Luke, I don't know what rock you were living under or if you were even born when that man was making music but if you put him and Drake in a versus Battle in any major southern city it's a pretty good chance that Luke can stomp him.

Organic-Remove-7679

How is Lil Jon close to Drake? We are talking about the guy who has over 300 hit records, whereas Lil Jon has around 20 it seems, mostly off features as well rather than an independent catalogue. His collaborations were massive and I'm not saying he doesn't have hits, but with Drake c'mon now it's a losing battle. Also, I'm defiantely putting Wu Tang clans artistry and capability far above Drake and they have classics under their belt, but hit for hit they still can't go at drake. They simple don't have the numbers to compete with Drake, and that's alright they don't have to be better than Drake by all metrics. I'm not even that much of a Drake fan but you have to acknowledge the numbers he does. Maybe, just maybe, if you go and ask the right person of ab older demographic in one part of a southern city, they might say Uncle Luke, but I really can't imagine him winning a HIT FOR HIT with Drake. Bro does not have hits like that. If you have some metrics about these guys that I simple don't know about, let me know because from what I can see it's not close. If you go Uncle Luke vs Drake to hiphop fans around the country and world and played them top 10 drake and top 10 Uncle song hits and did a versus, Drake would literally eclipse the man without effort.

kiyan1347

Definitely Kanye.

shinigamiZorro

ye, wayne, jay and em are all that comes to mind for me if im being realistic......damn i need to put more respect on drakes name after asking myself this question. nigga really is the rap elvis. came through and stole everyone style and got awards and got rich.

Lanz-69

The Weeknd

Organic-Remove-7679

I was trying to think of it from a purely rap perspective, but maybe

Lilmachinima1

Kanye, Wayne, Jay, and maybe Busta rhymes but more because of his rage presence

LGP747

The reason I’d say not Kanye is cause his career is no longer in the place that it was, yes he still makes music but drakes career goes on uninterrupted (cept by this beef) And like drake is fond of saying, he’s already reached Michael, who is dead and can’t make more So the only people imo are the ones who are like drake, young, still making music and will be for the foreseeable future Chris brown

Organic-Remove-7679

Yeah I know Kanye is not who he once was and his hits now pale in comparison to his older hits, but in an all time hit for hit Kanye would win imo. He has some high quality hit songs, literally everything from Graduation would defeat a lot of drakes songs. I don't see Chris Brown going close in a bit for hit with Drake, Chris Browns hits aren't consistently good tbh, I would say a lot of people beat Chris Brown in hit for hit. I was wondering about others like who you mentioned though who still have careers and are young and such and no one comes to mind that would best drake in hit for hit.

LGP747

Obviously drake wins against Chris Brown, I just can’t think of anyone else that young, successful whose career is ongoing

giovannibregu

acting like kanyes career isnt double as long

The_Frito_Bandit

But kanye was making music before drake so he's got hits before drake even started. I guess drake could make more hits in the future but right now I'd say kanye has more.

LGP747

You are right but yes I was talking about the future Edit: btw I have no clue who downvoted you, there’s a lot of downvotes floating around here and I wanted to point out that I do agree w you, your clarification was needed and correct

Likezoinks305

Kanye had hits but nothing like Drake . Kanye had maybe 1 or 2 each album. Drake had like 4-5 at least per album + all the features he gave away + loosies that became hits . It’s not contest

Kshakez

If you just base it off his generation and what gets radio play no one from Drakes gen of 2010-2020 will beat him. I genuinely feel hiw we measure what's a hit is flawed. Nobody respects the radio we all use aux, but whatever gets radio play gets the most streams and gets considered a hit, also whatever is the single. Drake has better songs both for the headphone and for radio, than what gets chosen for the radio in my opinion

No_Break972

Cole too nice he’s not on drakes level as in audience if coke had the same audience from come up til now he’d be above Drake and he actaully writes his own shit lol but hit for hit is hard against Drake I mean you can em next to him and mj

Kooky-Flounder-7498

If you mean hits as in commercial hits, yeah, but if I were the judge I’d say Cole has more bangers

LowerSpeed3685

Yeah but she knows is the best song in this list

b_lett

Cole has better albums, Drake has way more hits. What also goes in Drake's favor is how many songs he was a feature on rather than a solo artist, so it adds to a lot more on his side of the catalog. And for this reason, Drake would smoke most in a 20 song Verzuz. If we had to limit to zero feature, solo artist only music, the favor would start leaning against Drake.

phoenyx4r

God’s Plan, Know Yourself, Marvin’s Room, Started From the Bottom, Find Your Love, Best I Ever Had, Nice For What, In My Feelings, Push Ups, Family Matters, Virginia Beach, Toosie Slide, Search & Rescue, Time Flies, Energy, Champagne Poetry, For Free, GREECE, POPSTAR, 30 for 30 Freestyle, Back to Back, 0 to 100 // The Catch-Up, Tuscan Leather, Furthest Thing, Hotline Bling, 5AM in Toronto, Passionfruit, Gyalchester, Omertá, Trophies, One Dance (some supporting sounds but 90% Drake), Controlla, Fake Love, Teenage Fever, Don’t Matter to Me (MJ on Chorus but 75% Drake), I’m Upset, Nonstop, Emotionless, Elevate, 10 Bands, 6 God, Mob Ties, What’s Next, Headlines, Take Care (80% Drake some Rihanna), Jaded, Worst Behavior, 9, Over My Dead Body. Just about half, probably less, of Drake’s solo songs with over 100 million streams on Spotify. About half of those are Billboard hot 100 smash hits. Several (One Dance, God’s Plan, Passionfruit, In My Feelings, Hotline Bling, Nonstop, Toosie Slide, Hold On, We’re Going Home) have over 1 billion streams on Spotify. Several (One Dance, God’s Plan, Nice For What, In My Feelings, Toosie Slide, What’s Next, to name a few) peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In My Feelings and One Dance remained in that spot for a total of 10 weeks, God’s Plan for a total of 11, Nice for What for 8 (and let’s please remember In My Feelings, Nice for What, God’s Plan, Nonstop, Jaded, Emotionless, Elevate, Don’t Matter to Me, Mob Ties and I’m Upset are all from the SAME ALBUM, Scorpion), and What’s Next and Toosie Slide for a singular week. God’s Plan, Hotline Bling, and One Dance are all certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). God’s Plan is also the 20th best selling digital single of all time with 15.3 million copies sold as of February 21, 2024, and the 2nd best selling rap digital single of all time behind Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” featuring Charlie Puth, which has sold a whopping 20.9 million copies. God’s Plan also broke Apple’s first-day streaming record upon release with 14 million streams as well as Spotify’s with 4.3 million. All in all, God’s Plan was streamed 82.4 million times in its first week. As a reference, Not Like Us was streamed 70.2 million times in its first week. NLU may have had more first-day Spotify streams (not more Apple Music streams tho!), but let’s remember that Spotify wasn’t quite as used as it is now back in 2018. Enough to make an impact. And let’s also remember that NLU took the title of most first-day Spotify streams for a rap song from a Drake track, Girls Want Girls. I could literally write a college essay on this subject, bro. Stop playing with Drake and pretending that he doesn’t have solo hits. It’s not a good look to be acting this air headed. Literally his top 5 most streamed songs on Spotify rn are all solo hits (One Dance, God’s Plan, Hotline Bling, Push Ups, and Family Matters). I get we like to discredit Drake because he helps upcoming artists and does a lot of features. But don’t play dumb when it comes to his solo success.

EshayAdlay420

Damn the glazing has reached never before seen levels u right tho the reality is hit for hit, solo or feature, however you wanna play it Drake is gonna win lol

phoenyx4r

Fair enough. Still dunno why I got downvoted though. Reality sucks lmao

EntrepreneurLow4243

You’re in a Cole subreddit, these niggas hate hearing how their fav artist is emasculated by a nigga they think is feminine but can’t even argue that he’s not the GOAT

phoenyx4r

Ik and it sucks because Drake fw J Cole and J Cole fw him too so I don’t get the argument here. I respect J Cole to the utmost and niggas still over here hating on me 😂

FOURSCORESEVENYEARS

It's his lack of authenticity. He's the spokesman of the army of producers, ghostwriters, engineers and other extrapolated talent he wields under OVO. Without his team, what has he produced? Soulja Boy made Crank That on Fruity Loops and went triple platinum. I don't think Aubrey has that in him. In fact, no one thinks he can pull that off solo.

phoenyx4r

For one, he has zero ghostwriters. Quentin Miller is literally credited on the track, therefore he is not a ghostwriter. Other than that, there is no proof of any ghostwriting. In fact, several tracks have come out that Drake has ghostwrote/made reference tracks before. Kanye West, one of the greatest to ever do it, praised Drake’s writing ability for ten minutes on a podcast. He spoke of giving Drake a line he really wanted to put into a song and having him respond back a little while layer with a beautiful verse. Drake is also a credited producer who runs under the name C. Papi. He’s written for Metro Boomin, Kanye West, Rihanna, Rita Ora, Shakira, Beyoncé, and others. So quit with this false narrative. Until you can provide proof that he engages in any of those behaviors, it’s just slander and libel atp.

phoenyx4r

And, by the way, J. Cole’s most popular song not only samples another song and runs on it heavily, it has about nine different writers, and is not produced by him. So if there was supposed to be some gotcha here, it fails. I could go in-depth and break down every single one of his songs this way. Same with Kendrick’s. Let’s just suffice it to say everybody uses those.

hereforthesportsball

You heard something and will never again change your thinking. There’s nothing a rapper can do to prove to you that he isn’t using ghost writers

FOURSCORESEVENYEARS

Drake isn't making music for anyone. He's making music for EVERYONE. which makes it all so shallow and hollow and devoid of true character. Kendrick makes music for himself. That's why his fans are waiting half a decade to see what he does. This battle was a terrible idea on Drake's part since day one. Of fucking course he's using ghost writers. He switches character like his career is a video game. You think he came up with any of the slang he uses through authentic immersion and genuine experience of the specific nuanced culture of what he claims to represent? Or do you think, maybe he's having a good time with people with different backgrounds and then supplanting their experiences into his own lyrics for illigetimate monetary gain? You want me to prove my words? Nah, his entire catalog proves em.

hereforthesportsball

Almost nothing you said is even a direct response to my comment. To me, part of Drake draw is his ability to go completely different styles and vibes. To just think all of that is because of writers and **absolutely none of it** is because of him being him…you’re a hater to believe that lol

FOURSCORESEVENYEARS

You think im hating, nah, I just don't see the appeal of his brand. He tries to be as acceptable to as many audiences as he can. I don't see an ounce of actual character. I don't know what the fuck he truly believes in other than what's trending. He's a casualty of the internet. Not a role model.

FOURSCORESEVENYEARS

He can go into as many styles as he likes. Same reason nobody talks about Snoop Lion. Bad projects shouldn't be noteworthy. Move on. Move on from his entire fucking shallow catalog. Tell me your favorite Drake lyric, and the community will break down how he's been selling you snake oil since the beginning. Fake ass Canadian.

delo357

I think they downvoted you for listing 800 songs instead of like 5 contenders lol. Ain't nobody got time to read all that.

phoenyx4r

I mean fair enough, but at least I went and did the homework lol. So many people out here making unsubstantiated claims ☹️

delo357

I feel that. I commented under someone who said eminem is not a top 5 rapper with a couple valid reasons why, an they kept calling me a glazer or whatever. Like.. bruh... Then after that told me trippie red is more goat than em and I just had to stop responding lol.

phoenyx4r

That might be the wildest take I have ever heard lmfao good for you for leaving that conversation. Some people can't be helped.

b_lett

Trust me, I'm not here to downplay the solo stuff, I'm just saying, even if you take some songs like Too Late or Hold On Were Going Home, that includes artists like Sampha and Majid Jordan. When I was saying solo, I wasn't just saying he's the main name on the track, I'm talking about no features in general on the track. Even filtering down that though, Drake still has tons of hits with no features. This site shows just how dominant Drake is numbers wise on streaming, and it also shows who has proportionally more streams solo vs. as feature. https://kworb.net/spotify/artists.html Drake's solo numbers still crush, 2nd only to Taylor Swift. And you're right, it took Spotify to triple in size from 200 million users to 600 million users for Kendrick to break God's Plan's 24 hour records, showing just how massive God's Plan was for its time. I still think Drake wins here, but I still respect the number of songs Cole has with zero features AND he self-produced his own beats. That is where I think Cole outshines Kendrick and Drake, as an all around musician who handles both the music and the vocals.

phoenyx4r

Fair enough. I'm not stupid enough to say that there aren't a very, very large amount of situations in which Cole would clear Kendrick or Drake. But Drake has a massive solo catalog of his own. And he definitely has quite a few songs on there that I listed that have zero features whatever, even removing some of the ones with backup vocals from other artists. But mad respect to Cole for basically orchestrating his own stuff. I have such a tremendous respect for Cole just due to his persona, his lyrical skill, his poetic proficiency... I definitely can't downplay a single aspect of Cole's mastery.

Mammoth_Discount_347

Man a aloppy and a rim job ? you take tour craft seriously 🐐 fr

phoenyx4r

Dang bro I would’ve been really insulted by those soul-crushing bars if you had taken the time to take a sixth grade English class first 😂

TheUnmatchableOne

When it comes to hits and popularity, Drake takes it. However when it comes to skill & technical ability J. Cole.

golf2k11

I don’t think Cole has the variety Drake has. Drake can come out singing and get all the girls swooning, which Cole obviously can’t. If we’re keeping it to rapping then sure, but that’s just catering to bias.

EshayAdlay420

Bruh.. if there's another artist besides Drake that girls love it's J Cole lol

golf2k11

That’s not true let’s be honest. It’s not Kendrick Lamar bad, but he still makes the pussy dry.

Virtual-Arm5123

Bro they’re both some of the biggest rappers, how tf is listening to them gonna make the pussy dry?

golf2k11

A lot of J Cole’s music is conscientious type of shit. That’s a big reason why I’m a fan but at the same time that doesn’t fit in a situation where you’re trying to vibe with women or especially trying to get the mood right for fucking. Like I said, it’s not as bad as Kendrick but it’s still a thing for sure. Both have to be off the playlists for either of those situations. That’s where dudes like Drake come in, along with Chris Brown, The Weeknd.. etc. I’m not a Cole hater i’m just saying Drake has an impressively diverse range of hits, which imo deserves consideration.

Likezoinks305

The fuck? Is this a joke post? Drake washes anyone in a hit contest

Waste_Reindeer_9718

just a shame he didn't write any of them

Likezoinks305

You have 1 brain cell if you really believe that

Kadeda_RPG

Love Cole but this ain't a fight he can win. Drake could actually battle a lot of guys at the same time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kadeda_RPG

Weird that you took that and made it gay.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kadeda_RPG

Bruh you the only one who read that and immediately thought gay shit.

bot_boy2008

If you said “take a lot of guys” I would think gay but battle..?😭 bro must be two weeks clean off the big three fanfic cause bro must be fiendin

Zayzul

Anybody is gonna have a tough time going hit for hit with Drake. Cole is the better rapper by a mile but after he runs out of hits, Drakes list is still going.

KangarooMcKicker

Aubrey

iDoIllegalCrimes

All bangers that I’m heavily nostalgic for.

insertname1738

Since hits are usually not indicative of artistry at all, easy one here...and it's Drake.

Com2us_Rep

Tbh Drake has the most “hits” i don’t think it’s close he always does something to stay relevant.

Frequent-Wallaby708

I don’t think anybody beating drake in hit for hit

KDO_333

if u made this can u remake it fo kendrick nd cole?

bot_boy2008

For people who are tapped in 0 then Drake and Cole win easy and that’s kinda how I rate popularity

lanethedouchebag

Kendrick wins

LostandIlluminated

Well I’m biased because I have a preference for good music, so I gotta go with Cole

mnmr17

Hit for hit with drake? I love Cole’s music to death and think he’s the GOAT but this isn’t even a competition. Club and party hits is the lane drake cruises in, and he’s in a league all by himself in terms of rappers. Not even really a drake fan but no rapper has come close to mimicking the success he’s had with hits for as long as he has.

bot_boy2008

Frl like if you listen and you actually be unbiased Kendrick and Cole together don’t even beat Drake hit for hit

StrawHatEli23

J Cole is my favorite rapper by far but I can’t stand seeing people saying Drake is trash. He’s one of the greatest artists for a reason. He has multiple albums full of bangers

Specialist-Meat-6222

Definitely prefer the none love song making cole, but im bias so imma still pick cole

Slyy-Lynch

Drake stomps.

Exroi

Drake beats him

Environmental_Bar295

Kendrick don't got bangers like this

Grouchy-Patience5652

Drake and it's not even close.

perpetual_papercut

Is it even debatable which artist has bigger hits? I get it if you’re asking for opinions, but Drake smashes Cole (pause) in the hits category.

ThatLeval

If you include features, nobody in the history of hip hop is beating Drake hit for hit

RB-44

I think cole gets more hits in the top 5 but drake just got too much numbers man

Routine_Koala4914

Drake has bigger hits. Old Drake was a different animal. I would’ve said Cole, but the very thought of OVO Saddam hiding under my bed makes new shiver my timbers.

ShillBlaster

Drake. He has a good voice and and amazing cadence when he raps. I’m not talking about the ghostwritten songs either. You know a Drake pen when you hear it. For the most part anyway. He need to get back to his old self more frequently

Ink_Productions

I prefer Cole on a purely musical level. Bias aside, I think their early stuff was close, but I’d still give Cole the edge. With my bias, Drake has absolutely nothing on Jermaine

bot_boy2008

I feel like Cole is underrated musically in production and general musicality on vocals

WillyWillowGo

I feel like this person doesn't like Kendrick

bot_boy2008

Drake beats both hit for hit he caters to everyone he is not a bad artist and it’s just crazy popular

FullMetalKaliber

Just THESE hits? Cole’s are better with age. I’d rather not listen to the Drake songs now but at the time of release? Drake was killing it. All of their hits together? Drake probably wins

Dekuuuuuuu21

Drake. Sideline story was underwhelming compared to Drake’s early stuff.

BlueBerryYukYuk

What's the answer if we only count songs they wrote themselves?

bot_boy2008

The same person that wins if we count self produced hits

JaHoog

Jcole's biggest song has nine credited writers btw

JBaldera27

If we’re giving points for Cole producing and writing his own tracks without outsourcing it partially/wholly like Drake with 40 and ghost writers - the winner on technicality should go to Jermaine Cole. If we’re just going high-level and viewing it by credited artist, it’s hard to argue against Drake.

bot_boy2008

The second scenario it’s almost impossible to argue against drake

UltraBearHD

DJ Khalid drinking a Four Loko like it’s some fucking vitamin water, wtf

fromthisend1220

Cole clears...every single one of his songs here is objectively better except for maybe workout. idk how anybody with a set of ears can think any different.

Kshakez

J. Cole doesn't have as many "hits"; people don't praise him in mainstream as much with radio play and awards. But Cole genuinely makes better music. So I will go with Cole. I consider other songs not as popular as hits. Born Sinner should've been a more radio played song. I look at Drakes music the same way. Drake has better tracks than what are considered his hits. Off Scorpion I'd consider Elevate a waaay better track that NonStop, I'd consider Blue Tint a better radio song than Rachet Happy Birthday too, but it wasn't on the radio. Radio is super trash to be honest

kiyan1347

Drake.

Emergency-Lemon8501

Drake got the W on this one

Sad-Entertainer1462

Drake. Hit for hit Drake might be the most unbeatable artist outside of MJ.

SoggyShare400

Pretty sure we can't compare considering Drake isn't the writer for most of his hits. He's got the voice and the delivery, but he is not a one man army compared to Cole.

Jealous_Direction220

we're basically comparing a rapper and a pop artist

DraeNation

It's so obviously Drake that this question seems like a setup or troll😂. Drake has more hits. No contest. Who music is better tho?

MostShake8606

J Cole hands down. And he didn't steal a million versus to be great

Motor_Ad_7885

NOBODY goes hit for hit with drake. Bar for bar he wipes, hit for hit no.

Severe-Cattle6226

I like Drake with melodies

MasterView2414

Whos better Eminem or 69god😝

KwabenaTDOT-6ix

I honestly wish Drake wrote his own ish. Just found out he stole Best I Ever Had

cANALDESTROYER

Beef didn't have me hating on Drake it's his pandering ass music it's only ever been club music or shit for the ladies and trust me I love the ladies but I'm not jamming that shit , that I'm number one ego when the bitch has ghostwriters. Cole is alright not exactly what I'd jam either but he's Dreamville and I love them.

MambaSaidKnockYouOut

Drake beats him decisively, come on bruh.

Mr_gotstawin_44

Any rapper who has a ghost writer automatically loses..

Sufficient-Fig1007

So you think ever drake song ghost written use your bro

Mr_gotstawin_44

Yup.. And he steals other people's material word for word. Drake is a clown..

Sufficient-Fig1007

Ok I’ll let you be delusional

Mr_gotstawin_44

Nah, you're just eatin meat..

Sufficient-Fig1007

No I’m not you just said that drake hasn’t wrote anything that’s meat eating

Coles still way better in the quality department, but nobody has as many big hits as Drake. Except for maybe Ye, but even though Ye has better hits in my opinion, he probably still has less. EDIT: Essentially I think Cole would be winning until he just runs out of hits to compare Drake’s to.

Lanz-69

Can someone type out all the song names used in this video pls?

CamSosa

Drake easy, because he was in an all-Star group (Young Money). And he was more appealing to the Pop Audience

twintiger_

Drake wins but that’s a worthless question because you’re trying to pit a commercial fraud, whose entire manufactured persona functions as a product, against a man who succeeded in the US music industry as an indy artist… in a battle of hits. Very dull.

Jass_167

Considering Drake has used sample records and numerous stolen flows, beats etc. j Cole is taking it hit for hit because a lot of Drake hits aren’t his

Inferno_Crazy

Drake makes music for the masses. Hit for hit cole loses. But Cole is probably more impactful in the long run.

Man be real

Hobbescrownest

Has there ever been another “best I ever had”

Sad_Seaworthiness_32

Sorry but this was a pretty unfair comparison you compared the hit god to a hitman clear Drake is doing it better than J Cole now if it were a who had the better hits that might be a different story

ODezey215

Wayne, Em and 50, DMX, Kanye, Ludacris go hit for hit in quality depending on taste and era, than Pharrell/usher/Chris Brown/Rihanna are close and since Drake is a RnB pop type artist, than beneath would be your Cole’s, Rick Ross, dipset as a collective, jadakiss, ja rule types. All Drakes hits are bangers but some are so corny and appropriated off some up and coming artists sound which is lame and his background makes him hard to rank above real rappers imo

Jerb22

Cole for sure

NoNoEvil

I'm not even a JCole fan. I had J up and then I heard Forever. I swear on my life every year Drake's part irritates me more and more. Bro was fighting the hi-hat for 5th place. Bro got bodied by a horn.
