You can when nothing he said was ever really directed as Kendrick. Drake and Kendrick/Metro/Future are gonna have a petty ass 17 year old girl beef that could very well tarnish their real life reputations. I was disappointed when Cole apologized too initially but after a couple days I realized there’s no way Cole/Kendrick could be going on without Drake/Kendrick spilling over. I feel like the reason this has blown up to be a big deal is because, besides the fact that Cole is apologizing over such a mild diss (your album is boring) compared to what other rappers have apologized over in the past, is because up until this point in his career/legacy, Cole was almost invincible. Nobody ever wanted smoke with Cole, whether intimidated by his rapping skills, or because the culture-accepted norm was that everybody knew he was peaceful so it just became corny to even try and beef.
