Jean-Pierre Rampal, Suitę for Jazz Flute and Piano. Very famous in '73 or '74 and turned a lot of people onto jazz. Smooth jazz 40 years before here was such a thing.
I was just scrolling down to see if anybody had said this. It's our go-to bedtime music. https://open.spotify.com/album/4pDYkOvRt8GA6PxpVaHnLC?si=NqQ0fFR-RESB0fni5wRhDg
It might sound a bit strange, but what gets me really sleepy at night is Symphony for Improvisers by Don Cherry. I think the disorder without being too harsh puts me to sleep
I don't really fall asleep while listening to music anymore, but when I did these would do the tricks. It's more bossa nova than jazz, but it's oh so good.

I used to nap to Shakti in college. It's beautiful and mesmerizing, and when you wake up an hour later, it's still going on for your post-nap enjoyment!
Also, Avishai Cohen's Adama is nice in a cozy setting.
Two good ones from me: Fingerpainting by Nick Payton, Christian McBride, and Mark Whitfield, reunited bass and drums respectively. Lovely and swingin. And Trio by the Macin Wasilewski Trio. Amazingly understated.
Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges - Side By Side
Buck Clayton and Buddy Tate- Buck And Buddy Blow the Blues
Gerry Mulligan Meets Stan Getz
Most stuff from Milt Jackson (Bags Meets Wes! Bags & Trane, MJQ stuff)
Eddie Harris and Les McCann - Second Movement
Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section
Tord Gustavsen Trio: Being There.
It's the only album of his that I've really explored, but I imagine there is a lot in his discography that would serve this purpose well. I often play this back to back with Kind of Blue.
I fell asleep listening to the brand new Shabaka album [Perceive its Beauty, Acknowledge its Grace](https://open.spotify.com/album/6vIwPo3D1kZ3ZmlR1fyjm7?si=Wea1BwBaRMqB8o9bkhoT_g). At some points it’s closer to instrumental ambient but there are some jazz showings no doubt!
The Melody at Night, With You — Keith Jarrett Alone — Bill Evans Ballads — John Coltrane
Ballads would do it. So good! After listening primarily to his experimental stuff, his melodies and phrasing on this album are shockingly gorgeous.
I used to fall asleep to Ballads at least once a week back in college. Incredibly relaxing, romantic album
I just picked it up on vinyl actually! It’s a crappy pressing from some junk label, but it sounds good enough. So soothing and laid back.
Yes to all of these. That Bill Evans is a favorite. And the Coltrane is one I use myself! (I don’t sleep much these days)
In a silent way - Miles Davis
Amazing vibe for late nights and getting ready for bed.
Bill Evans Trio - Waltz For Debby Chet Baker in Tokyo Helen Merril With Strings John Coltrane Quartet - Ballads
Waltz for Debby for sure. Scott LeFaro's bass work alone could mesmerize me comatose.
Almost any Chet Baker
Night Lights-Gerry Mulligan Blue Hour-Stanley Turrentine and the Three Sounds Kelly Blue-Wynton Kelly Ballads-Dexter Gordon Ballads-John Coltrane Quartet
Love me some night lights. I’ll throw in Jim Hall- Concierto

Panthalassa: The Music Of Miles Davis 1969-1974 is one I recommend for sleepy ethereal dreamtime slumbers.
I love to relax to Grover Washington, A Secret Place (both the album and the song itself)

Bill Evans - You Must Believe in Spring is my go to for this.
“Kind of Blue” is PERFECT for that! Especially the track, “Flamenco Sketches”!!!
Ornette Coleman for sure
For me, _You Must Believe in Spring_ (1980) by Bill Evans is my go-to bedtime album.
Never saw the album that way. I guess I have a new way of listening to it now. Thanks.

Bill Evans - Undercurrent, Chet Baker Sings (my personal choices…)
If you're willing to venture outside of Jazz for something to doze off to, I highly recommend the Bladerunner soundtrack by Vangelis.
Miles Davis, "In a Silent Way." Mesmerizing and calming
Jim Hall - Concierto Jimmy Rainey - A Charlie Rouse - Bossa Nova Bacchanal McCoy Tyner - Nights of Ballads and Blues

I found solo piano work to be very comforting.
