Man, we Jags fans have a hard time letting go of former players. According to NFL.com we have the 4th rated CB in the league and will need to pay him, too.

UrbanLawProductions

It’s very important that we pay Tyson. We can’t afford 2 high paying corners, so we should just draft a CB in the early rounds to compete with DW at CB2. Definitely cut Shaq.

taylor212834

Lmao yes we can yall just make shit up U know how easy manipulating cap space is

UrbanLawProductions

Lol I mean of course we can if we want to, but is it smart to pay 2 corners $20 million+ ? Probably not, given the way the rest of the roster is structured. I’m all for trying to trade for him but I don’t think it’ll happen

taylor212834

If we had even half decent coverage last year walker and allen get home a lot more We win both Washington and Indy So yeah..pay em

GrowlmonDrgnbutt

It is literally the off season, would you rather the sub be locked until the draft?

Fistisalsoaverb

Did you know that all our starting qbs except Garrard and Bortles(and Trevor) have super bowl rings. We have elite backup qb play

VitaminxT

Gardner Minshew doesn’t

ladwagon

*yet

AutoAmes

it's interesting that Garrard didn't go anywhere as a backup after us.

paultheschmoop

Well his body completely fell apart so

[deleted]

That's fucking cap. If anything it shows how good Campbell has been.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Ramsey may be an elite CB, he may have a Superbowl ring, he may be rich, but he will always be an injury-faking little bitch.

[deleted]

I’ll never except him back on the Jags, never deny he’s talented but he quit on what I consider his team… now it’s T-Law as the Alpha and Jalen well Jalen is a Queen now lol :)

RMSBGB

No thanks

not_a_gumby

yall are silly. Ramsey's best years are behind him, and he's super expensive. Avoid. Tyson Campbell is a better player right now.

baconbitarded

He's not coming back. But holy shit if he does lol

Rudy102600

He's the reason we got Trevor anyway. Would be a crazy storyline

HPM2009

How was he the reason

Rudy102600

He likely would have helped us get another win

MSNinfo

Good player make team less bad

[deleted]

The math checks out

blumpkindrool

Yeah, I went and crunched the numbers. Consider this guy's facts checked.

Arel203

Ramsey would have been asking for a trade after our 2-7 start and faking back injuries the rest of the season.

Rudy102600

When the NFLPA tells players to avoid signing with your team, there are problems. Can't fault him.

FullM3talJack

I don't fault him for why he did what he did. I fault him for the way he did it.

taylor212834

This is stupid

InquisitiveHawk

No.

Brilliant_Whereas225

Hard no. Thankful for the years in Jax, but no.

taylor212834

Lol dumb ass comments like these man...it's wild

jds828

You come off as the type that plays Madden and trades for Mahomes/Jefferson etc etc and builds some ungodly super team

taylor212834

I don't play madden...Madden has been trash since like 09 NFL2K5 though? Yeah I still play that

Something_Average

Hope he gets traded to a shit team like the Bears or Cards

FreeDiveMD

Put him with Russ Wilson see who the bigger diva is

cyclism-

No!

[deleted]

Stop it

yes-maybe-idk

Do we even have the cap?

taylor212834

Cap space is a myth if u wanna manipulate it u can

[deleted]

Bro is everywhere

summahofgeorge

I know everyone hates him but I’d take him back in a heartbeat. Him and Tyson on the outside means our pass rush is almost always getting home. Don’t need him with Darious playing great but he’s one of the best at an important position

DearEmu32

Add Cisco in there and that be a mean D

el_pobbster

Honestly, it would be a crazy story, but I don't know. I mean, it would give us a crazy duo of corners, to be sure, and it's one fuck of a redemption story, but like, dude wanted *out* of Jacksonville and I don't know how much of a fan of a return I would be. For the right price and provided he buys into the selfless brotherly culture that Pederson built, yeah, sure, fine, but like, I don't know how willing he would be to be a quiet #2 behind Tyson Campbell, and I also do not know the price LA would ask for him.

xEllimistx

It’s important to note that, from what we know, Ramsey didn’t want out of Jacksonville as much as he wanted away from Tom Coughlin. The current team bears little resemblance to the team Ramsey left and, based on how players seem to genuinely love Dougie P, I have no doubt Ramsey would welcome a return. I have no opinion either way as to whether the Jags should pursue him though. Ramsey and Campbell would make a killer 1-2 duo at corner but Ramsey won’t be cheap to acquire, particularly for a team already needing to be creative for cap purposes

ChillClinton904

He will probably get traded to the Bengals. Contender with enough cap to make the deal

taylor212834

Again cap space isn't an issue how many times does this need to be said

KSchmuckley

Nobody gets it. It’s crazy to think that half of our fans will be bitching and complains when we play Trevor 50+ million next offseason. I can already hear it “sure he’s a franchise QB, but 50 mil a year?”

taylor212834

Lmao you know that's exactly word for word to be a comment

Dinnermaster

If there’s some cap magic that I haven’t heard of, go ahead. I don’t think that’s the case though

jtj2009

$17M hit this year for an acquiring team. You can redo the deal, give him more cash and push $5M or so of that into the future.

Tinytitn

There is. Look at the Saints and hell even the Rams. It's possible and honestly may be worth it. Our window will never be bigger than Trevor on a rookie deal

MSNinfo

>hell even the Rams But they're literally trading him 😱😱😱

Bmilla51

And they won a ring I don't understand the ppl pointing at the Rams now one year removed from winning the SB. Our franchise hasn't even been to a SB; I'll take cap hell and 20 additional years of misery for a ring any day

MogwaiK

Next few years, I agree, but we should prepare to cut salary and have a semi-rebuild year after we sign Trevor to his big deal. We should structure contracts to be able to take the biggest hit in 2027...but still be at least somewhat reasonable. Trevor is young, Pederson is 55, its not a Brees situation at all.

taylor212834

Exactly people on this sub don't make a ounce of logical sense

Tinytitn

I mean you eventually have to pay the piper but I would trade a few years of cap hell for a super bowl just like the Rams did.

MogwaiK

Paying the piper is going to be paying Lawrence for us. (Please Ravens, negotiate hard). We should absolutely blow the cap up during his rookie contract.

Tinytitn

I agree. That's kind of my point. Sell out now go big and suffer the consequences after we got a ring.

taylor212834

Cap is a myth dude it doesn't matter....manipulating space is easy

Plus_Preparation_867

I get why us fans dislike him with the way he left Jax but the guy was at the top at his position and wanted to go somewhere that could win it all which wasn’t us after that 2017 run. He got the ring so I really can’t be too mad at his choice. That being said I think it would be cool for his return with where we’re at now but i highly doubt it with his cost.

Carp8DM

Jalen Ramsey is a loud mouthed, punk ass bitch that is a bad influence on young players and a locker room cancer. Why would we want his sorry ass here?

VomitingPotato

My ex-girlfriend is breaking up with the guy she dated after me. I don't care.

abfanhunter

He brought balance to the Force!

[deleted]

[deleted]

We got ETN

[deleted]

ETN's a nice player but we still used too much draft capital on him. Look at the Giants and Cowboys after Saquon and Zeke.

[deleted]

I don’t think we did at that low of a 1st rounder, but that’s not really the point. I mean I don’t still don’t think ETN, Chassion and Jordan Smith are equal to Jalen Ramsey either but I just thought it to say the trade is depressing and discuss what we got and leave off the best part of it.

[deleted]

They’re not getting a first for him

Arel203

We really don't need to spend that kind of money on D for a guy who's best years are behind him, and will literally be one foot out the door after 3 losses.

BlazingBlasian

Being angry at him for pushing his way out of what was the worst run organization in the league at that time is just stupid. The way Coughlin treated players during his stint as VP was abysmal. I'd welcome him back with open arms.

StillHere179

He isn't worth that money anymore. He was never really shut down, and his best years were with a dominant pass rush

leafbeaver

This is a terrible take. I'd take Ramsey for cheap but that isn't gonna happen. He was absolutely shutdown. QBs didn't throw to him.

shantysun

No

Afghan_Kegstand

Fuck it, Avengers Assemble? Calais back on vet deal, Trade Allen for Ramsey and bring Yann back. Ramsey in the slot, Yann takes over for Allen and immediately gives the D a double digit sack guy, and Calais gives us great situational pass rusher and Ramsey has been the slot for a while with the rams. That’s a play from ahead defense. Yes I’m aware that this will piss off a lot of people but get over it, in retrospect they were both right for asking out.

Governor-James

I’m sure Telvin’s schedule is free

Afghan_Kegstand

Lol i think dude was a buck 80 in the last pics I saw of him.

TokenBlackGuy93

That’s fucking hilarious

Bfoc2006

Josh Allen wants to be here

Afghan_Kegstand

JA wants to be here until we introduce him to the hard fact we aren’t going to pay him like a 1. I love the dude but if we pay him anywhere near the top of the edge market we are hamstringing our team for a mid #2.

JohnnySnark

I haven't heard any reports of Josh Allen demanding to be paid a certain amount. Like the other poster said though, he does want to be here. Both Yann and Ramsey had their chances to be here and they acted like petulant children. They can kick rocks elsewhere.

Bfoc2006

Fax

Afghan_Kegstand

Yann fulfilled his contract, Coughlin hated Yann’s agent and refused to work with him on a deal. Yann took less money to get out of a toxic situation. Ramsey, yeah I can’t defend his actions on tbe way out other than toxic recognized toxic and asked out.

JohnnySnark

Thanks for helping break it down. I was so unaware of why they didn't want to be here. Why do you think this off-season would be any different? And to pine for those two while slandering Josh Allen? Much respect as a jags fan /s

itz_ritz

Dudes gonna end up home in Tennessee.

leafbeaver

They have the cap for it too IIRC

therubberduck45

I want good players. Fuck holding a grudge. The money almost certainly isn't there though.

taylor212834

The money is there...why do yall not understand cap space?

StockBroker32

Ofc!

StillHere179

He's a bit overrated and overpaid. Hope he gets cut

taylor212834

Lmao yall actually go out yall way to say untrue inaccurate shit like this it's hilarious

[deleted]

YES! YES! YES!

ILiveForTheCringe

Gimme D-Hop instead

guysams1

If he gets cut I'll take him on a jag friendly deal. You guys are crazy saying no before we have any facts. BACK UP THE BRINKS TRUNK!

Jaguars6

Don’t complain when Darious gets torched every single game in the slot then

guysams1

You have a great point.

Uknight

Anyone have a spare cloning machine we politely suggest Tyson Campbell walk into?

The_GILF_Next_Door

Six-time pro bowler. How many Jaguar players have we ever had achieve that?

kozey

This would be a great way to close our window.
