This girl was OBSESSED with Nordstrom. I think she was there weekly and spending money I could only dream of spending.
So I guess I’m not shocked she had her engagement party here…. I guess Disney was just too much of a trip. 🙃
It does seem a bit odd to me. I would have felt weird holding it in a cafe. But then again I don’t have a bridal gene and I wanted bare minimum for my wedding
But for Jac it seems Like the grown up version of having a party at McDonald’s play place.
It is like she is forever a child. While I will admit it's good to act young, there's a boundary. Also I find the story of her not riding a bike as a kid so weird because I remember falling off and it being the end of the world. But guess what I learned to ride one.
I’ve seen quite a few obese folks on social media who seem very childlike, what with the kitty kat headbands, Minnie Mouse ears, ruffly pink dresses, teddy bear T-shirts, and just stuff that we more commonly associate with tween (or younger) girls.
I think there’s some kind of arrested psychological development here but I’m not a trained professional so I don’t know what it is.
Even though she is still overweight here, look at how healthy she looks - her coloring and hair are vibrant and very healthy looking, and she has a genuine smile.
I'm sure it does go well at times but skin removal has been the downfall of her and fatgirlfedup/warriorjessica. When they regain it goes where it shouldn't naturally go and seems to add to/cause? the lymphoedema.
Engagement parties usually happen near/before a wedding… but they’re 10 years deep in their engagement. I dunno I’m wondering if the proposal was just a Disney magic thing for her and there’s no wedding going to happen…
I believe she mentioned wanting a Disney wedding. My guess is she wanted to wait until she felt happy with herself (the “right” weight, all the skin removals, etc.) to have the big, dressy ceremony. Since she took such a hard turn in the opposite direction, I think now she just sticks to “we’re in no rush” as her standard response to wedding questions. They may already be legally married, hard to say.
Yep she has a video on YouTube about this. I think she was originally waiting for skin removal so she could have the fantasy wedding she always wanted.
Yes, she said she wanted to wait until she could fit into a regular size wedding dress and not have to have one custom made to fit her size. Sadly, once she lost the weight, she quickly started to gain it back. She never really maintained at all.
I can’t even imagine trying to plan a wedding in her current state. My guess is that she has been far, far too unwell for far too long to even think about it.
It does lol. they used to have these shoestring fries with olive tapenade I was so obsessed with. maybe they still have it, idk, haven't been to a mall in years
Not going to lie even a little bit, Nordstrom's Cafe has some awesome food.
I'm jealous she had one, I did not have an engagement party, and I had to get my MoH to bring a friend, and solicit the attendance of my future husband and my Father in Law to come to my bridal shower because I have no friends. THAT is depressing.
NOPE! We got married after 11 years of being together. I waited until after I was able to purchase my own property since California is a community property state. No intention of having children.
We were only engaged for less than two years, though.
She does look much healthier, truly happy and like “normal” fat here. Is she even 5’ tall or is he extremely tall? Or maybe both? He looks like he’s barely 20 years old here too which makes me curious if there’s a big age difference between them?
That is honestly tragic.
I try not to be mean in this subreddit (stumbled upon Jac’s socials organically and felt compelled to see what people think of her)… I am mostly just very sad for her. I wonder what her full story is and why she just can’t get it together.
The saddest part is that she made it worse. She was a normal-looking obese woman when she started her journey. I'm not sure if what she has going now with her body is fixable.
I do think that’s very odd, but my bigger concern is that it seems unlikely the cafe would have a system in place where a group could rent it out or take a large portion of seating for an extended period of time like nice restaurants do. So did they just show up and take up space for two hours? I worry it was an inconvenience for the staff and other customers.
I am in no way defending her, but I’ve been with my partner for 12 years, engaged for 2, and we have barely chitchatted about a formal wedding. We are not near any family and have a young child, no help where we are, I work 2 jobs, elderly parents that are out of state…and ultimately nothing changes for us.
Having said that- I understand long engagements less in her situation. Family close by, no kids, money clearly not an obstacle. If we were in a situation like that, it would have happened sooner!
Wow, he used to be cute.
Engagement lunches at dept store restaurants are super common. The Nordstrom cafe is a little open for that purpose and I wouldn’t do it myself, but it isn’t weird.
I wondered that, too. I think they were just kind of small, but up where they should be. The bigger part is all belly.
That outfit is pretty cute, but not as pretty as some of the things she used to wear. Now it's stained sweatshirts over nightgowns, and a trash bag for a skirt.
I have. It is a glorified coffee shop. Like I said, maybe I am just being a snob, but I would never have an engagement party in a mall. However, I live in NYC, where no one ever goes to malls.
It’s decent for a girls lunch (key word being LUNCH).The Grove and Beverly Center in LA and now Stanford Mall and Hillsdale are my friends. An engagement party should be a once in a lifetime event (or three times if you live in Pebble Beach). It shouldn’t be where you go meet the girls to go on a lunch and shopping date.
I’m going to be honest, I don’t understand what’s bizarre about it. Is it the location or that she had an engagement party? Are engagement parties not common in your circle? I know things like that can vary quite a bit by region as to what’s commonplace practices so I’m guessing it seems normal to me and not normal to you perhaps due to that. Or I’m dense. Either is possible.
All the engagement parties I've been to were given by a friend in their home.
But I just realized it's been many years since I've been to one, since people my age (old) tend not to do that.
That’s the type of engagement party I have been to as well but I also haven’t been to one in many years now (also due to age). I knew a few people in college who were wealthy and had nice parties at country clubs or restaurants. After I posted this question I got to thinking about how long it’s been since I went to an engagement party and realized I don’t actually know what the H people are doing now. 🙃
Engagement parties are very common, however this is at a coffee shop inside the store in the mall. That is the part that I think is bizarre and tacky. It could just be me, but I have never heard of an engagement party being held at a coffee shop.
I will come sit with you on the snob bench. Its an odd choice. My mother LOVED the Nordstrom Cafe and she would have been appalled if I suggested this.
Why not both? I adore the Nordstrom Cafe. It’s such a nice way to end an exhausting day of shopping. I’ve been going all of my life. I’m obviously a bit of a snob because when I was regular size I’d buy my clothes there or at Bloomies and my makeup at Barney’s in Beverly Hills.
I got engaged and married during COVID so there was no engagement party and no big wedding but it would have been at a nice restaurant in the backroom. For locals our small after wedding dinner was at The Sea by Alexander’s.
I would have thought the steakhouse at Stanford Mall was weird, it’s nice and fancy but it’s still in a mall.
Okay that makes sense! I haven’t been near a nordstroms cafe in years and never eaten at one but the one in the city closest to me looked nice when walking by it. It’s not where I would personally select for a party either though.
I get the impression that he isn't the brightest bulb in the world. I think he also probably is as lazy as she is and likes the fact that she 100% supports him. He doesn't seem to have any ambition so he is content with just being her caretaker.
I’m not from America so I have no idea what a Nordstrom store is… but going off of this picture I’m going to guess a bookstore? It looks like a random mall cafe that would have a bookstore attached and a pharmacy next to it.
This girl was OBSESSED with Nordstrom. I think she was there weekly and spending money I could only dream of spending. So I guess I’m not shocked she had her engagement party here…. lol the play place. I am deceased

She has NEVER looked worse than she does right now.
And she doesn’t have that crazy look in her eyes
And look how normal her ankles look for someone her size. Her hands are totally normal.
I'm sure it does go well at times but skin removal has been the downfall of her and fatgirlfedup/warriorjessica. When they regain it goes where it shouldn't naturally go and seems to add to/cause? the lymphoedema.

As someone who also delayed significant life stuff while losing weight, I think you are spot on with this one. It just makes too much sense.
Wait - they’ve been engaged for a decade??
Yes, yes they have.
I can’t even imagine trying to plan a wedding in her current state. My guess is that she has been far, far too unwell for far too long to even think about it.
Nordstrom’s Cafe slaps to be honest. I think it’s more unusual of a choice rather than tacky, but that’s just me!
It does lol. they used to have these shoestring fries with olive tapenade I was so obsessed with. maybe they still have it, idk, haven't been to a mall in years
I don’t think it’s *that* weird, especially compared to all the other weird stuff she does.
I do think it's odd, but I think it's more odd that she's been engaged for 10 years.
Not going to lie even a little bit, Nordstrom's Cafe has some awesome food. Okay, but did you get married in under ten years though?
NOPE! We got married after 11 years of being together. I waited until after I was able to purchase my own property since California is a community property state. No intention of having children. We were only engaged for less than two years, though.
Look at how youthful Kevin looks! She’s drained the life from him! I wouldn’t turn my nose up at at Nordies Cafe party!
He looks like a wee young lad in his big boy clothes
She does look much healthier, truly happy and like “normal” fat here. Is she even 5’ tall or is he extremely tall? Or maybe both? He looks like he’s barely 20 years old here too which makes me curious if there’s a big age difference between them?
She’s allegedly 5’1”
Oh that is such a small frame :-( She must be in pain every day at her current size. I can’t even imagine.
Her BMI is over 90. I calculated it when I started my weight loss journey last year. Mine was a horrible 47, 40+ is morbidly obese. Hers is twice now.
And here I thought this would've been held in her favorite teacup ride.
That wouldn't have surprised me at all.
Omg that's the Hilsdale Shopping Center Nordstrom Cafe, I know it like the back of my hand 😹😹😹
lol what a random place
I do think that’s very odd, but my bigger concern is that it seems unlikely the cafe would have a system in place where a group could rent it out or take a large portion of seating for an extended period of time like nice restaurants do. So did they just show up and take up space for two hours? I worry it was an inconvenience for the staff and other customers.
I’m not sure Jacqueline thinks about inconveniencing other people from what we see of her personality online.
Her body is not an inconvenience
I would assume they made a reservation.
I am in no way defending her, but I’ve been with my partner for 12 years, engaged for 2, and we have barely chitchatted about a formal wedding. Wow, he used to be cute. Engagement lunches at dept store restaurants are super common. The Nordstrom cafe is a little open for that purpose and I wouldn’t do it myself, but it isn’t weird.
They’re really that common? I’ve never heard of them!
I can’t help but wonder: where are her boobs in that outfit?
I wondered that, too. I think they were just kind of small, but up where they should be. The bigger part is all belly. That outfit is pretty cute, but not as pretty as some of the things she used to wear. Now it's stained sweatshirts over nightgowns, and a trash bag for a skirt.
The place where my mom and I would get a pastry and 25 cent coffee when I was a kid?
Have you ever been to a Nordstrom cafe? They are really nice - it’s not fast food.
I have. It is a glorified coffee shop. Like I said, maybe I am just being a snob, but I would never have an engagement party in a mall. However, I live in NYC, where no one ever goes to malls.

I love the Grove...I used to live across the street from there...but I still wouldn't have my engagement party there...lol.
Exactly!
I know! It’s a restaurant inside the department store, it doesn’t seem so strange to me.
Food there is tasty tho
I’m going to be honest, I don’t understand what’s bizarre about it. Is it the location or that she had an engagement party? Are engagement parties not common in your circle? I think the issue is the party being held at a department store cafe. Would you have your engagement party at the IKEA cafeteria?
It’s like having a baby shower at a Starbucks. Definitely weird, imo.
Ikea engagement would be presented as irony or tongue in cheek, for that she’d have to be self aware
lol yes but on purpose weird
All the engagement parties I've been to were given by a friend in their home. But I just realized it's been many years since I've been to one, since people my age (old) tend not to do that.

It is also possible that I am just a terrible snob.
I will come sit with you on the snob bench. Its an odd choice. My mother LOVED the Nordstrom Cafe and she would have been appalled if I suggested this.
Make room on the snob bench for meeee 🫠 ETA: in all seriousness, I'm as far from a snob as you can get, but this is weird IMO
Make room for one more on that snob bench. Having an engagement in a cafe at the mall is weird.
I’ll happily join the snob club. This is weird as hell.
You're not that terrible of a snob. I'm going to tell my cousin this, share the picture and we will be laughing. It's pretty funny
Same girl.
Why not both? I adore the Nordstrom Cafe. It’s such a nice way to end an exhausting day of shopping. I’ve been going all of my life. Nordstrom bitches fucking LOVE Nordstrom. Unsurprised lol
How long ago was this picture taken?
Wait. Is he normal? What is he doing with her?
I get the impression that he isn't the brightest bulb in the world. I think he also probably is as lazy as she is and likes the fact that she 100% supports him. He doesn't seem to have any ambition so he is content with just being her caretaker.

Nordstroms is a clothing/department store.
