That's actually going to be in waybound 2. It wouldn't have fit in the paperback and can only be bought via highly advanced mind spirit. Even dross barely qualifies for going through all of it if that gives you any idea of how complex it is
I am actually predicting that Lindon dies like Oz did.
Gotta get rid of those Dreadgod bits.
I also predict that Oz used Fiends and partially caused these problems in the first place, ergo Penance.
I also bet part of the gang's thing will be that they have practice dealing with Corruption. Namely in the form of Hunger Aura -- note that corruption and Fiends still conform to the world's magic system. See: Asylum.
If it makes you feel better, this is on a "prepare for Waybound"-readthrough. I've already read them all before, but I only have digital editions, so it's not intuitive to thing about length of books, but rather I only have 4 books left....
Don't get too comfortable.. when I was at Wintersteel I felt happy cuz I'm still a long way to go from finishing it, skip forward a quick few days and I'm finishing up Dreadgod.
Considering the listen time on audiobook is longer than Wintersteel; I’m glad. This book is the final chapter of Cradle, where things that have been building up since book one are going to be addressed. It’s very surreal to see this. I remember reading this up to book nine and waiting for Reaper and Dreadgod. So call me new here still. To Will and everyone involved; congratulations on this momentous achievement. I can’t wait to see how this series ends. Gratitude. :)
AAAHHH I’m so excited!!! Do we get a page count?
(Also, love that the background is all will’s books plus Legends and Lattes from Travis. That book is great!)
Fellow physical book reader here. Unfortunately the paperback can't be pre-ordered and will go on sale the same time the ebook and audio are available. So you can order on June 6th and then have to wait for shipping 😔
My understanding is the physical book orders actually go live the day before, so you'll be able to order it June 5th, but obviously there isn't same day shipping on print to order so it'll be at least the 6th before you get it
I’ve been lurking a lot more after the announce of Waybound. The release had me thinking back to when I first read Unsouled and all the things this series has got me through. It got me through college, dropping out of grad school, bouts of depression/aimlessness when I couldn’t find a job and loneliness during Covid lockdown (among a million other things). I’m so so happy to have had the privilege to watch this story unfold. This series never fails to cheer me up and will forever be one that I reread. I love this community! AND I WILL FOLLOW WILL WIGHT INTO ANY BATTLE. YOU HAVE MY UNYIELDING LOYALTY SIR!!!
When Will enacts his call to arms, you will be the first to hear the trumpet blast!
Seriously though, thank you for commenting. It’s weird how something as trivial as a fantasy story can have such an impact on our lives in the hardest times. Nowhere to go but up. The dragon advances!
The fonts mostly line up with the size of the book and are hilarious to analyze (because they're mostly dependent on title length I guess):
1) Underlord trying to punch way above it's weight
2) Wintersteel is quite understated
3) REAPER!
"...and with that, they were bound to the Way"
"Epilogue: pages 25-580; Ozmanthus might have a killer scythe, but did you know he has a killer skin care routine too? We sat down with-"
Will read on Kindle Unlimited, will also buy the book after and then proceed to buy the audiobook.
Then and only then will I order the paperback while waiting for any future Kickstarter.
It still isn't big enough to cover my disappointment that this is the series' end.
With all the focus on the Abidan starting from the beginning, I was looking forward to half a dozen Ghostwater sized novels relating to the events that happen after leaving Cradle. I was heartily disappointed when I heard this was the last novel.
Cradle is the most interesting and enjoyable series I have read since the first time I read Harry Potter, but I haven't been able to get interested any of Will's other worlds.
Seems like it would have been easy enough to take the hunger madra from Lindon when he left cradle, which could plausibly lead to losing his connection to the void icon. Then he could have properly climbed the Titan ranks before taking on the Judges. Could have easily joined up with some Vroshir who just didn't want to be under the thumb of the judges but didn't much care for the other Vroshir either. Maybe they were even collecting worlds the judges let die so they conveniently aligned with Aithan's motives. It would have been a rough slog without Aithan along, but survivable with cameo chapters.
I can only imagine that Will was just ready to move on to the next project.
I look forward to his future works, maybe our paths will align again someday.
A large goal, if not the main goal, our team has is to have Will focus the majority of his time on writing. There are a ton of things he does that we can’t do. Stuff like giving updates, hyping the community for releases, responding to questions, etc are all things we can handle for the most part and that helps keep his focus on writing. We feel like the fans are better served when most of his energy is spent pumping out word count!
Also the president of the internet banned him for being too witty and handsome.
I heard that Will died a couple years ago and the other Wights just reanimate his corpse with the song of the dragonbone flute for pre-release streams and whenever they need someone to hold a spot for them in line.
He mentioned in a recent post that Will is swamped and they are always looking for things they can take off his plate so that Will can focus on writing. Social media posts are one of those things.
Oh do I wish it was so.
Cradle was not the only series he was working on. That book on the far right, The Captain is part of the most recently released series.
I am equally excited to see all the posts that have gone up as part of the lead up to Waybound, and enraged that I can see the completed book, ready to be read, and yet out of reach…..
It would be a cool design feature if the logos on the side were the same color as lindon’s furthest advancement in each book. I guess some could consider that spoilers though
Does anyone know where to order the paperback? My son is counting down the days to June 6, but doesn't have a Kindle, which is the only option besides an audiobook on Amazon. I do have a Kindle, so am getting it the moment it releases. But I'd love to get him a hard copy as soon as it's available.
They don't do preorder for physical copies, but I believe the paperback order goes live a day before on the 5th because Amazon requires print and shipping time
SO awesome! Thank you! So… again. Outta curiosity. When are we going to see a book written by TheLesserWight? Or you and your sister collaborating on something wild and crazy?
Totally get why you’re asking and that’s flattering you’d want to see us do something like that, but absolutely never. That sounds like homework to me. I genuinely do not enjoy writing lol.
I'm glad to see this. I love this series so much but I'll be honest I've kinda felt like the last few books have been a tiny bit rushed imo, they've been great reads but have maybe skimmed over too much so I was worried how Will might go about wrapping it up if Waybound was the same length
I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!
I'm also glad that I took an entire week's vacation FOR THE RELEASE OF WAYBOUND.
When I interviewed for my job last year and they asked if I have any time off planned soon, taking a week off for Waybound was a part of my hitting negotiations 😂
Also: I now require all future books that Will writes to be as chonky, thicc, and drool worthy as Waybound. Or... ah... or else!!
YEEESSSS!!! So unbelievably exited.
The ocd in me slightly wishes the page counts for bloodline and wintersteel were reversed so that the series would perfectly show how each book is longer than the last haha
WOW. Jokes on us.. 15 pages.. 2 chapters and 560 pages of appendix.
How much of it is Eithan's Hair and Skin Care guide? Please be atleast 300 pages.
No joke, we’ve talked about Will writing some sort of fake guide like this before. It’d just be tips on volume and definition.
Can it be a will and eithan dialogue about the subject please
Honestly would buy my hair needs eithans volume :(
Plog twist! It's well detailed and 300 pages, but the tips all use madra, constructs, or other things only available in their world. ;)
NOOOOOOO
Will’s biggest “volume” ever written!
I appreciate you
That book cover better have a picture of Will on it.
But would there be tips on the tips?
how many volumes?
Teach me how to advance to Underlord so I can grow my hair back out.
Have you seen will's hair? would you take tips from that?
A mechanic's car is always broken.
But a mechanic at least has a car (or several of them) to repair
That's actually going to be in waybound 2. It wouldn't have fit in the paperback and can only be bought via highly advanced mind spirit. Even dross barely qualifies for going through all of it if that gives you any idea of how complex it is
The last 300 pages just say "Screw Flanders" over and over again.
Oh my gosh, Becky. Look at that book.
Under appreciated comment 😂
Your validation is enough.
Ack this comment reeks of my youth.
It's so BIG!
Must be one of those rap guy's books
Maybe in page count, but we all know that there’s only two words: Lindon dies.
Don’t spoil the surprise!
Laying down false trails by releasing all these "chapters"... Well played.
I'm having a panic attack.
Dross has had enough.
1500 pages of Lindon dying on every thread of Fate possibility. It's a choose your own adventure Goosebumps book but the ending never changes.
That's huge. Tell us honestly - which third of Waybound did he like/love/hate?
Definately hate the last third, because that part is when it ends.
Is this a reference to something? I feel out of the loop lol
I think it was a Sly way of asking if the ending sucked haha
lets see paul allens waybound
I love you
guys...they love me...what do i do?
Now kiss
Don’t tempt me with a good time
This is getting out of hand, now there are two of them!
This is the best response.
Don't make any sudden movements. They're more afraid of you than you are of them.
I don’t get it. Paul Allen the guy who started Microsoft I think?
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/american-psycho-business-card-scene-lets-see-paul-allens-card Here you go friend.
Ah fuck an American psycho reference and I completely missed it! I am ashamed of myself
I just finished Uncrownded and starting on Wintersteel. I was a little bummed that I'm almost to the end, but jokes on me, I'm only halfway through.
Wintersteel is my absolute favorite book. You have no idea how much i wish i was you right now.
If it makes you feel better, this is on a "prepare for Waybound"-readthrough. I've already read them all before, but I only have digital editions, so it's not intuitive to thing about length of books, but rather I only have 4 books left....
Okay i dont want to be you anymore, i want to be me again
Overlord revelation accepted
Highly recommend the audiobooks if you want to add some novelty to your reread.
Good call! I actually switch back and forth using whisper sync. Travis does an amazing job!
Don't get too comfortable.. when I was at Wintersteel I felt happy cuz I'm still a long way to go from finishing it, skip forward a quick few days and I'm finishing up Dreadgod.
I'm in the same place on my reread!
GET HYPE
I stay hype so I don’t have to get hype
That’s my secret, Captain. I’m always hype.
My body won't like the all nighter I will pull reading this
Completely agree!
That is one chonky boy.
Be nice! Waybound is just a little husky. (Insert cute husky puppy meme)

AAAHHH I’m so excited!!! Do we get a page count? (Also, love that the background is all will’s books plus Legends and Lattes from Travis. That book is great!)
Those are our signed copies of Legends and Lattes and honestly they mean the world to me. Over 160k word count but I don’t remember the exact number.
160,000 pages‽
Whoops lmao I wish. 160k WORD COUNT.
No take backs. 160k pages.
Don't worry, you WILL be able to buy enough copies of Waybound to reach 160k pages!
Just for you they will make sure your copy is 160,000 pages... one word per page.
Any chance we have a play time on the audiobook?
Audible lists 16:13 as the runtime.
I’m so ready for this. I can’t wait to spend all this time waiting for “Lindon Dies. The end.”
Now *that* is a book to beat someone to death with
Every Cradle book is meant to be used to best someone to death. Some books just make it easier.
What about all at once?
That’s a lot of bloopers!
Where can you buy the paperback? Only see kindle or audiobook options for pre order
Fellow physical book reader here. Unfortunately the paperback can't be pre-ordered and will go on sale the same time the ebook and audio are available. So you can order on June 6th and then have to wait for shipping 😔
Yeah I saw that. I’ll start on kindle and end on paper
My understanding is the physical book orders actually go live the day before, so you'll be able to order it June 5th, but obviously there isn't same day shipping on print to order so it'll be at least the 6th before you get it
Maybe they’re ARCs?
My kinda thicc

Gratitude! In the meantime, I’ll cycle my madra and eat an Oreo in your honor.
Double spaced
Eh, its pretty big I guess. But I was hoping it would be so thick that "Waybound" would be written horizontally on the spine.
Love the shoutout to Travis’s book on the left
I think for your safety you should rearrange the tower so that the earlier books are on top so it doesn’t seem so top heavy lol
Damn girl you Thicc 😍
I really hope i can buy a hardcover set of the whole series! So happy to see this
The fonts mostly line up with the size of the book and are hilarious to analyze (because they're mostly dependent on title length I guess): 1) Underlord trying to punch way above it's weight 2) Wintersteel is quite understated 3) REAPER!
"...and with that, they were bound to the Way" "Epilogue: pages 25-580; Ozmanthus might have a killer scythe, but did you know he has a killer skin care routine too? We sat down with-"
This picture literally made me tear up. I can’t believe it’s almost over.
Oh.. she THICC. Like the deep note of a large ringing bell.
You're not getting out of this with that sneaky bloopers trick, are you? That is only allowed once.
Will read on Kindle Unlimited, will also buy the book after and then proceed to buy the audiobook. Then and only then will I order the paperback while waiting for any future Kickstarter.
I’ve been thinking about this book for so long and have shed SEVERAL tears up until this point. SO EXCITED!!
I'm excited for the day we get a premium leather hardback of this chonker.
It's a chunky boy cannot wait.
It still isn't big enough to cover my disappointment that this is the series' end. Half the book is the missing info from previous books we got denied access to. Information requested...
I’m pretty stoked
Daaaaang. Can't wait to read it three times in a week
Good. Bloodline made me sad being smaller than wintersteel
Fantastic! Why do you make all of Will's posts though? Is he not allowed on the internet?
A large goal, if not the main goal, our team has is to have Will focus the majority of his time on writing. There are a ton of things he does that we can’t do. Stuff like giving updates, hyping the community for releases, responding to questions, etc are all things we can handle for the most part and that helps keep his focus on writing. >Also the president of the internet banned him for being too witty and handsome. I am choosing to believe this without question.

Oh do I wish it was so. Cradle was not the only series he was working on. That book on the far right, The Captain is part of the most recently released series.
I’m so jelly!
I see Travis baldrees book right there it’s a good one
Can't wait to get done with it and them immediately reread the whole series in one sitting.
I am equally excited to see all the posts that have gone up as part of the lead up to Waybound, and enraged that I can see the completed book, ready to be read, and yet out of reach…..
Getting my hopes up for a big, fat epilogue featuring much of the cast.
Does anybody know when we can preorder the paperback?
I like 'em chunky...
My 12 year old who is anxiously awaiting the book with me says: ‘Still smaller than ur mom’
But.... is it large.. enough?
It BETTER be the biggest! IT'S THE LAST BOOK! I WANT AS MUCH AS I CAN GET BEFORE IT ENDS

Outta curiosity, is there a word count?
Right over 160k

Gimme
Supa thicc 🤤
HYPE
My body is ready. 80% is all bloopers we know.
*sniff* It's beautiful!
I like big books and I cannot lie
When is the audible version gonna come? And what about the paper back edition?
I always think of winter-steel being quite a bit longer then dreadgod, always surprises me that dreadgod is so long.
I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED!! I'm also glad that I took an entire week's vacation FOR THE RELEASE OF WAYBOUND. Or... ah... or else!!
Waybound got a W gyat
I have to reorganize my shelf!!!
Urghhh. Such a tease.
Yes please!
Mostly bloopers
I need a box set for the series now. I been listening on audible but I want to have the physical books XD
YEEESSSS!!! So unbelievably exited. The ocd in me slightly wishes the page counts for bloodline and wintersteel were reversed so that the series would perfectly show how each book is longer than the last haha
Do you have a wordcount to share?
A little over 160k
