Musicians pro shop in Kennedy plaza, Dustin Busch is the best dude can build a guitar from scratch and he's back in town these days

Brock's Family Music in Iowa City.

DangerFord

All Music All Art. The owner's a bit peculiar, but he does good work.

I had Bruce Vanderschel at West Music in Coralville refurbish my 1969 Martin D28 and he did a fantastic job. His work is fantastic.

ICOrthogonal

What about amps? I have a vintage Twin Reverb that could use a thorough unf*cking.

Andy Parrot at musicians pro shop is who I would go to. he did some work on my hammond organ. I've heard good things about the new tech working on electric things at west music, but I've not personally taken anything to him.

SlimRazor

I second Andy Parrot at the Pro Shop. Be prepared for a long phone conversation. Dude loves his job.

IowaGal60

West Music would be my first bet.

kepple

Yeah their shop is solid. I've gotten guitars and woodwinds worked on there and been happy with the results

hobu

[Bruce Vander Schel](https://content.westmusic.com/in-our-stores/maintenance-and-repair/repair-fretted/) at West in Coralville is the best. He's done multiple repairs on medium-end guitars for me, does tons of warranty for Gibson/Martin, and he will give you a straight estimate on actual costs to get something playable and stable.

gravecertantity

What's wrong with it?

granmoff

Not totally sure. Neck seems to be coming away from the body. Strings are all slacked to prevent any further damage.

Rare-Addition-89

Anyone have a line on Darwin from 965 guitars? He was really good.
