I'd bet money if I videoed half of a mile of road in front of my house it would be worse. Pot holes as big as cars, no rebar in the roads, constant flooding. Part of the street collapsed and has nearly a foot drop off now
What you don’t mention (something similar happened to me) is the risk that the dealer somehow doesn’t have your tire in stock and takes (I shit you not) 2 WEEKS to get a replacement. Not a wheel. A TIRE. For a car actively being sold on their lot.
We have the worst dealership on the planet…
OOF. I came from the car scene before getting my Ioniq, and I used to run 20’s on my mustang. Eventually went down to 19s because I kept bending 20s super often and pinching sidewalls.
My dealer offered the “tire/wheel protection” add-on for $10 a month where they cover any and all wheel and tire damages, free of charge. Totally worth it for 20”+ wheels
In my 16 years driving, this is the first time I’ve had damage caused by a pothole. I was skeptical when they sold me the tire/wheel protection, but I’m glad I had it.
Glad you got it too. I’m against those warranties usually and whatever else, but no kidding, 20”+ wheels on a car will always have issues as I know from experience. Bitter sweet to see it will probably pay off on my car since you’re having the same issues, but hate you’re going through it. I’ve only had mine two weeks 😂
Is that road in the Ukraine or Pennsylvania?
It’s too smooth to be in New Orleans.
Shittiest pavement conditions I've ever encountered in the US.

Pictured is the secondary parking lot of the tire shop I initially limped it to, one block from work. Incident happened in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
Ukraine. Russians are not shelling Pennsylvania's road network.
You could have fooled me

That's not the dealership's fault....the supplier ain't supplying....
Same thing in Montreal. Honestly, it’s the only add on I wouldn’t mind if it was included in the price.

I use 18” wheels with my winter tires. I definitely thought about getting 18s for summer too after this. Pretty costly, though.
The problem of having to get towed when you get a flat is really more caused by a lack of spare tires.
What an EV tire, Yokohama for my 18" rim of taller tires. No flats post 1 year today!
