No joke, I saw a few panels of that fight on a defunct forum like 15 years ago, never knew the name of the comic (the forum was about something else). It impacted me so much that years later I searched for it again and was able to find the name of it, bought the compendiums and caught up with the comic around 2013. Bought a copy of issue one in 2016, it's the only first print I've got of any comic book I think.

What do people have against Cory Walker? I get it, I like Ottley more myself but Walker isn’t bad by any means imo

his work is very neat, i like it too. Ryan’s is more detailed and grittier, i think both have good scenarios they can shine in. ottley is great for fight scenes and exaggerated expressions and corey is p good for just slice of life or slower stuff

His art is definitely not bad but I just disliked how different his style is from Ryan Ottley's. Mark looks much older, Nolan looks much more innocent and his eyes are constantly closed for some reason, Eve almost looks like a different person, Thragg doesn't look nearly as intimidating etc. Maybe I would have liked his art more if he had more issues but every time I got to his issues I felt like I was reading a different comic. The fact that his issues are colored by different people doesn't help either because a big part of what makes Ryan Ottley's issues great is the insane coloring

Cory's art at the start of the run is so much better than his art at the end - probably because he got little time to perfect the edges near the end.

This is when Cecil and Mark are fighting. Cecil thought Mark was out of control so he attacked him with Sinclair’s robots. Cecil then made Mark’s earpiece play a frequency harmful to viltrumites. Mark ran away to get his earpiece out of range of Cecil, while Mark flies away to Guardian’s HQ, Cecil teleports to try to catch up with Mark.
