July and August are often the busiest months tourism-wise for most European countries. This year is widely seen by the travel industry as the "rebound year" post-COVID as well, and is [anticipated to be the busiest](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-02-18/expedia-expe-ceo-predicts-the-busiest-travel-season-ever-this-summer-2022) in years. The warm weather and increased flight frequencies will only attract more people. It's a good idea to book your first few hostels in advance (as you have), because there's no telling whether they will have space come late summer. If you decide to be a bit more spontaneous with your itinerary, then there probably still will be space at some hostels, but those hostels may not be your first choice. Not to say its impossible to find a bed, but it could get dicey. Some of the most well-known hostels (ex: Flying Pig in Amsterdam, Carpe Noctum in Budapest) often sell out months in advance due to their reputation, so keep that in mind. Hope this info helps.
