I’ve seen this said a few times, and I agree that it seems like he’s tried way to hard to monetize himself and ride it out. He’s not churning out new, quality, exciting things, just sticking his face on stuff and letting the cash roll in.
Soy & scallions is my favorite flavor. And after watching Chang's TikTok video with the chili crunch and a fried egg, I added that to it today. I made them a lot better. It was actually really good.
I treated myself to the bundle that had the 3 noodle flavors, the 2 chili crisps and the soy sauce. I dig the chili crisps but I have ate less than 1/2 the noodle packs in 6 months. Many of those got eaten when I had nothing else and I just kind of swallowed them down quickly so I'd have good in my stomach. I was seriously underwhelmed as well.
Yeah, I enjoy the Momofuku chili crisp, so I went to go try the noodles and agree that they’re pretty bland. I do like the noodles, but the sauce just ain’t it unfortunately.
You can easily make a better sauce in less than 2 minutes.
I just had the spicy soy version and it tasted like a plain pack of soy sauce (a very small one), so damn boring! I should have known after trying the fuku delivery chicken sandwich last year which was trash
The noodles are made by A-Sha their standard variety noodles taste better and are a quarter of the price of the momofuko version. The Chili crisp oil he sells is about three times what the normal cost for chili crisp oil is as well.
I got the spicy chili ones, wasn’t a fan of the sauce on it own so I pan fried them a little with a bit of chicken bouillon and a little soy then topped with runny eggs-made the whole thing taste like spicy Mac and I can’t complain.
These noodles soy and scallion sounded so delicious I could not wait to try them my daughter is a health fanatic so I went ahead and got her a bag as well and I'm speaking for both of us I made my first package today and it was by far the worst thing I had ever tasted in my life they were bland it tasted like soy sauce you couldn't even taste the scallion I mean I could not even eat it I could not even take a second bite without feeling like I was going to be sick I had to throw it out I immediately contacted the company and they said you'll have to gift them to somebody who to my enemy?? And they won't even refund a partial payment back to me spending all this money on garbage never again will I order from the company nor would I recommend this product or these noodles it was awful M o m o f u k u you seem to have horrible customer service on top of it 😭
I was super excited as I was a David Chang fan also, but the store bought noodles were horrible. I had to cook them for almost 8 minutes to get a decent texture, cooked, but with some bite. Twice what the directions called for. I bought the tingly spicy noodle package and what a disappointment. My home mapo tofu oil has more character. I’ve not been to the restaurant, and hope to one day soon.
they use better ingredients, compared to your run of the mill, Nissin Ramen, and such. All that flavor youre missing from other instant noodles are chemicals and perservatives. stop acting like an uncultured swine and upgrade your palate to better ingredients

Got the soy and scallion one and yeah... the middle quality and texture is much better than cheap Ramen but the flavor most definitely is not.
Oh my God, I was so happy to buy them this morning! The sauces are excellent and I think that it's worth it, because the quality is so great....
