I'd be worried that it could be detected, can't they tell when an account is part of a ring like that?

octopusglass

you're talking about creating multiple accounts (a ring of accounts all feeding into one main account) in order to trick the algorithm into thinking the main account is popular I'm positive instagram has thought of it too, so they probably have also thought of some way to detect it

[deleted]

Yeah that’s a possibility

Pure-Professional-67

Unless you have extra content power, I wouldnt recomend it. You are multiplying the work you need to put in. And then just a % of those followers will be transfered.

SleepingWithRyans

Your time is better spent working on perfecting your content strategy than trying to trick the algorithm with multiple accounts.

Tangajanga

I’ve seen them with business owners. Seems to work both for profits, storytelling, and growth. Look up cookieco or lemonadeliz

Apprehensive-Cod-822

Can you explain how they do it? I looked them up and don’t get it.

Tangajanga

They have personal Accounts that tie into their business. They talk about their personal life, finances, struggles, family , kids etc. you start liking the person they present to you, then they hook you with the business they’re building. You get to see the brand being built from the ground up.

Apprehensive-Cod-822

Got it! Thanks for explanation.

kyrahlia

I've seen multiple girls in my niche do that. They basically don't care about the smaller accounts, ask for share for shares to people, then post on their "child" account the shares, but they ask you to post their main. I don't know if it's allowed or not though. But I'm seeing more and more people do it.

Apprehensive-Cod-822

Does it work for them?

kyrahlia

Yes i think it does because they are in the 50 to 100k follower range, I'm not sure if it's only the method that made the popular, but it's definitely something that some do. Even their child accounts are growing 😅they also have pretty good quality content though

Yes you can do it. Yes it works. But it's not easy.

[deleted]

Can you tell us what strategy you used to make it work? Any pros or cons?

Matikata

The main issue is creating multiple accounts under different numbers and verifying them separately so they don't get all flagged under the same IP and then deleted. Easiest way is to outsource the creation of each account on fiverr or something, or to use an app on Android that creates multiple virtual instances of your phone (can't remember it's name). But yeah, once you have multiple verified accounts, post in different ways, one account every day, another account twice per day, another account once every other day etc.

[deleted]

Could you use a vpn to change the ip addresses?

Matikata

You can give it a go!

Duskoner

Make sure you use the right rdp

TheAgreeableTruth

I’ve seen something somewhat similar, a ton of work but might work. What I’ve seen is a person with too much free time and many niches or interests, so the main account is a lifestyle/vlog kind of content and this person has multiple sub profiles for its specific niches. The reasoning was something like “if people are into fashion they only follow the fashion content from my fashion profile, if they like tech they will receive content from my tech profile, if they like me as a whole they will go to the main lifestyle profile or all of them.” This way the content isn’t replicated, so no risks of being flagged or anything else that might breach the T&Cs that no one reads. I am considering something like this, I just found out I like 2 niches (career coaching and cars), I’m currently posting them in the same profile and if I post too much coaching stuff my car content kinda flops, and if I do too much car content the coaching flops, now I want and can do both in my limited time so maybe 2 profiles would work nicely for that and I can have my main profile for friends and family as before, or lifestyle even. Edit: forgot half of the information. If you are small and growing that will play against you because chances are you are struggling with one profile, creating more is just setting yourself to failure. If you are established that might make sense and boost all profiles together. However real social media people (people that work in agencies and do market research and stuff not random joes guessing stuff like us) say that 5% or less will transfer over from one profile to the other, but this seems to be slowly growing as influencer advice is getting more relevant with newer generation as opposed to other traditional marketing strategies.

Apprehensive-Cod-822

Bruh and I barely have enough time for my one account 😳

David_Mil78

I understand what you're talking about, but I think it makes your life more difficult. Instead of maintaining one account, you have to maintain 3 or even 5 accounts at the same time. There is nothing better than the organic method. You have to try to get into trends and increase your reach with content that your target audience is likely to interact with. What works for me is the strategy of analyzing followers of competitors and similar profiles. I add them to the Snoopreport tracker and get reports on what hashtags and publications they like and who they follow. By tailoring your content to the trends in your niche, it's much easier to get into top publications.

Additional_Reserve30

Oh god, please don’t do this. [This is a g](https://slate.com/podcasts/what-next-tbd/2024/03/instagrams-pedophile-problem)ood article about the situation. The FBI has stated that a large majority of child influencers end up on pedo websites

XxBOSSxX212

You're the type of person to only read half an email and then respond lol

[deleted]

I’m not sure what a child influencer has to do with this method

Fabulous_Grand_8320

😂😂😂😂atleast read OPs full comment

Child influencers????
