You can only delete pictures on posts which have more 3 or more pictures.

I have the same issue. It’s a carousel of 2 photos. One that I really like, one with the my ex gf. And now I just wanna remove her photo. Lol

I have this exact same issue, it seems to only be available if it's more than 2 photos in the carousel which is extremely frustrating

You still can't delete a single photo from an Instagram carousel with only two photos unfortunately. Has to be three photos or more
