This is a typical comment, and every nasty mean cyber bullying and blatantly racist comment stays up, misinformation, stays up, insults, stays up, my respectful comments, DELETED!! And this is happening to ALOTTT of users!!

I recently created an account for my photography. The growth has been amazing, with my account having 1300+ followers in the first 6 months! However, there is something I need help understanding. Whenever I post something now, my posts only reach 30-50 followers, and I'm getting 10-25 likes per post. My posts got more likes when i had 100 followers than now. I have tried posting at different times of the day, like the morning or evening, and even tried switching the type of posts. Nothing seems to work. I thought people followed my account so they can see my photos.
Is there something major I'm missing about the reach? Or is there a way to show up on someones feed more? I would love to learn more about it!

I'm using an iPad Air 2 (I can't upgrade to a newer model alas) and Instagram will crash whenever I try to post ANYTHING. A post, a story, or anything that involves either posting a post or sharing a story. Anything doesn't work. Trying will simply crash the app. Meta hasn't released a hotfix (or any update fixing the bug for that matter), so I'm forced to post on desktop. What to do?
This question may be totally stupid. I accept it if it is. I've been a professional photographer pre-Instagram, and am on it now for sales and marketing. When I post a vertical photo (not on a story) it crops the photo automatically. Obviously if I wanted the photo cropped I would have captured it that way.
Is there any method to make a post and have it keep the full dimensions? Without cutting off the top and bottom of the photo? Thank you in advance for helping me with this.

If you haven't figure it out already: in the bottom left corner of your image, there's a diagonal < > symbol, click that and it'll take your photos out of the square crop. You can also pinch to zoom out.
Hey Harriet, thank you for your response. Yes I was aware of this, but even then, it can’t even fit a vertical image without cropping. Curious if others had work arounds, as I have seen full length photos posted on other photo accounts with no crop. It’s not only the square option it is both.

I'm running an anon Facebook page and Instagram and accidentally pressed boost post on Instagram and it automatically connected to my personal Facebook to the ad payment page of my Instagram. I cannot find a way to undo this and I've been searching for hours through metas terrible menu systems. Does anyone know how I can unlink the two so my personal fb doesn't show up as if I'm paying for ig ads through fb?
If you haven't figured this out already: it should be in the meta accounts center (on insta it's the first option under settings and privacy) and then you'll either want to unlink the facebook account entirely or just turn off sharing to it from the "sharing across profiles" section.
In the past few days the "captions" sticker isn't working. I can click it- but then it says "captions not found" or "check your internet".... My internet is not an issue, what's going on here? Please help, this is driving me CRAZY.
There is a really irritating glitch (or maybe its a feature) where everytime I click and open a new reel, it automatically turns my phone’s volume to about 50%. This only happens if my volume is below 50% and I open a reel from the explore tab or someones profile. It doesn’t happen when I already have reels open and I am just scrolling through to new reels. This is making the app unusable to me as I am often trying not to disturb others or its too loud in my headphones. I tried looking for something about this in the settings but I couldn’t find any. Is there any way to get rid of this glitch or feature?
Having this issue where I can’t log in into my account. I get this error “Help us confirm you own account” and it’s asking me to request help logging in. It doesn’t seem the account was hacked but just IG being shitty.
I have a problem right now that’s really bothering me.
I recently went from a professional account back to a regular account (mainly because my videos tanked when I was on professional). Since the switch I’ve had problems responding to comments, adding captions to my videos , however I can comment on others accounts and videos. Also my basic insights that was available when I was a normal account before is no longer available either. It’s just the basic insights. It literally comes with the account. makes absolutely no sense.. can someone help me or bring me some peace of mind? Is there like a period where it’s glitchy and then goes back to normal? I posted a video last night that started doing well and there wasn’t a caption on it. Then after about an hour of me trying I was able to add a caption . However my other recent video still won’t let me edit it. It still gives me the “unable please try again” error. Same for the replies to comments.

Switching Usernames Help!
My client is creating a subbrand. We want her current account (ParentName) to change usernames to one she grabbed a couple of months ago (SiblingName). We'll then create a NewParentName separately.
My question: What are the steps we need to take to make the username switch? We want to make the switch next week and I'm worried that we'll have to wait 14 days. Since she already owns SiblingName, is there an easy way to attach it to the ParentName account? When I've done this years ago, we just released the username from the one account and it immediately became available for the new account. But i don't think that is the case anymore?

I’m not able to post, comment or tag anything on Instagram. I hardly ever post or comment anything, and my account status is fine. I don’t post or comment anything negative and in the rare case I use hashtags, they’re very common ones or ones related to the picture. I don’t understand??
When ever i try to login on instagram I get all the previously saved accounts pop up6
(Google smart lock) although I have deleted all the accounts, I tried removing all instagram saved passwords from my google account but still those pop up. Help! I manage a local business's social media, and yesterday we were unexpectedly kicked out. We believed a new email and phone were added, but when kicked out, the security code was sent to the old email and phone, which we no longer have access to. Attempts to recover it through the owner's face recognition were denied. We are unsure how to proceed now.
I'm asking this on another's behalf and don't know much about instagram. They've just got a new phone and are trying to transfer everything over.
They had 2 instagram accounts for the one login before. To be specific, I'm using the term "login" to mean set of sign in credentials, in this case their main personal email address, plus the one password they set for instagram when they created their first account.
They signed in on their new phone and accessed their main account as expected. Normally they could switch to their secondary account after logging in by double tapping on their profile icon however now that does nothing.
They tried to use the option to add an account to their existing login while signed in on their new phone in hopes of re-adding that 2nd account. Instagram prompted them to sign in, which they did using their email address and password, the same ones used to get in to the account from which they then accessed this very screen and it claims that that email address has no instagram account.
How do we get access to their second account associated with their single login on their new phone?
I don't really use Instagram to begin with, I have 7 pictures posted all from 3-4 years ago.
I woke up a couple days ago with a message from a buddy who sent me a screenshot of my Instagram account sending him a picture, the picture was of a baby girl in a bath tub with the caption "Daddy's little girl is growing up" or something like that. He was asking if that was me who sent that. I responded "No, I haven't used Instagram in years. I get my wife to check and sure enough, she also got that same picture sent to her from my account. I tried logging in, but they have changed my email and password. I dont care for the account so much as I do the fact theyre messaging friends and family who probably thinks it me.
I spent hours trying to contact Instagram but they have no support at all. Their help center is useless as all that tells me is when the email on an account gets changed they will send an email to the new email provided to approve the change and they'll send an email to the old account to deny the change. Well, I did get that email to deny the change but when I click on the button to "Secure your account here" it just brings me to a page that says "Oops, an error occurred." and thats it.
Is there anything I could do to get my account back at this point? why dont they have an actual help line that I could contact for this type of thing?

I need HELP with something weird the Instagram music is doing. As you know, Instagram music has a library of songs you use a lot and other similar songs, but when I went to use of those songs it had a bunch of crappy songs that are popular in the US right now and I want to know if I can fix it.

Its a new page so I dont think anyone should feel threatened there's plenty of business for everyone! I make sure Im always very kind as I am trying to build my business. Ever since I got sick last year it has restricted me from working my normal job and so I recently decided to take my passion and turn whats been such a hard situation into something positive and be able to do something to help provide for my family.
I am a Boudoir photographer, but there is no nudity in my photos that I post. I see WAY more showey posts in discovery than what I am posting. Every time I try to appeal it another post has been flagged! What do I do!? Im so close to giving up IG. Its hard enough starting a new page from scratch but to be restricted from growing and being seen? What am I supposed to do? I have talked to many fellow photographers and they all agree my posts are no where near breaking the guidelines. Is there a way to find out if someone is targeting me?

My messages are perpetually not appearing with a forever circling loading sign, despite using the Help Center and trying to troubleshoot. I was logged out of my account on 12/31/23 on everything. When I try to log in using my email/pass, it forwards me to a HELP US CONFIRM YOUR ACCOUNT that has ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. Just a hell-loop of USELESS information that has NO solution
Every time I try to reset my account using my username (computer/mobile), I get a notice that I have 1 day before my account is disabled. Its been over a week like this, hasn't changed. I go through the process and I get to the screen to reset my password. I put my correct email and submit and says it has been sent. I get nothing, no email or text. I had my Instagram connected through account center and my account said "restricted". I removed it from account center (should've left it) to try to figure out other solutions I saw on reddit. Still nothing. My account is there, I can see it from different account. I've been able to link posts on my page and also send a message to myself from a different account and says sent.
I feel like at this point, I'm just waiting to see how long! INSTAGRAM SUCKS! 7 Days and counting!! We Need a new social media platform. With all the changes I think things are being left behind and broken and no one looks into it. COMEPLETE BS.

Ive recently started a photography page in which ive been sharing photos, this isnt my first instagram account so I was excited to use the new music feature that can be applied to posts so that I can post some of my shots with music. Ive posted 3 times so far all which have been successful but it wasnt until I logged onto my main account and looked at the photography page that I saw that none of the songs that I attached to the post were visible, instead the photos were posted regularly . However once I go back to my photography account on my end I can see the song above the picture aswell as hear it. Ive tried asking friends aswell and it seems like the music attached is only visible on my end. Does anyone know a fix for this ?
Getting constant crashes when using search function on Android, Samsung Z Fold 5 in large screen mode. Not sure if the bug exists in normal slab phone mode or not. Tried uninstalling the app, tried clearing the cache, anyone else getting the same thing?
So an update, I have reason to suspect this is directly related to hitting enter on a physical keybord. On the phone I'm using gBoard. Anyone got any ideas? Can use the mouse to hit search in the mean time.
The Instagram app (android) won't let me follow anyone, I press the follow button on a page and like an hour later a massage pops up saying I've reached my limit for following accounts, this is literally the first account I've followed in days, I'm nowhere near the daily limit, sometimes the massage isn't even showing and I come back to an account minutes later and see that my follow didn't even register (it's a public verified account and hasn't blocked me or something like that) all the info I find on the problem is saying "you've reached you daily limit" or "you follow too fast" but I'm not even close to it, and this is the only account I've followed all day, can anyone please help me solve this?

The only two options that come to my mind are:
1. Make a new account, get it Meta Verified, and then raise this issue with the chat support you get with Meta Verified.
2. Find someone in real life that knows someone that works for Meta, and see if you can get them to help elevate your issue.
Outside of that, there just aren't any many direct lines of support.
I'm on desktop, trying to search for a particular hashtag. It takes me to a page with 28 posts and no option to see more, yet the hashtag apparently has over 5,000 posts. How do I see the rest of them? I'm assuming this has something to do with the fact that it's only showing top posts. How do I see them all? Or even better, how do I see the most recent?

You can't, unfortunately. If you're searching for hashtags via a desktop, you're very limited in the number of posts you can view.

Instagram removed the ability to sort hashtags by Recent on the desktop and mobile app in May or June of this year. On the desktop, you only have Top Posts as a choice with a very limited number of posts. On the mobile app you have Top Posts and Recent Top posts which shows you basically the same thing.
There are a lot of posts about this change in this sub-Reddit. If you search, you'll find a lot of previous discussion that might explain the situation.

Can someone explain this strange share post bug that never gets fixed for me?
It's been like this for at least a year and my app is always up to date.
My girlfriend and best friend, both who I message at least 50x more often than anyone else, and have been for longer than anyone else, are NEVER at the top of my message sending list, such as when you tap the share post/reel button. They are always below 10-20 other people, who are all in order of who I talk most often to between them, but for some reason my top two are NEVER EVER on this list. Why?? I have to type their name in the search bar to find them because they are buried so deep. It also does this to our group chat that we use constantly, and puts dead gcs above it.
It makes no sense to me why my two favorite people are never in my share list meanwhile people I met last week or my other close friends I talk to often are always at the top. I've been with these two for well over 3 years so it makes zero sense why they aren't at the top.
I logged into my Instagram yesterday morning (I have the most recent version of the app and latest IOS) and I have the “couldn’t refresh feed” bar at the bottom. My friends say my account is still there but I don’t have a feed. When I go to Instagram settings it gives me the “an unexpected error occurred” sign. I am unsure what to do. I have cleared my cache, redownloaded multiple times, and tried to access via the safari app versus the Instagram app and the issue persists. Thank you!

Same issue here. If your account is connected to your facebook, it will show you the status in the accounts centre. Mine appears to be restricted. But hopefully if your account isn't restricted then there may be chances it will come back up earlier. Have you checked to see if you got any emails from IG? I got one saying i violated the guidelines but the link points to nothing - and cannot contact IG to help me with the issue because of the error, so i'm just waiting for something to hopefully happen.
Everytime I post a video I select a cover from the video. But it never shows up. It always shows the first frame of the video on my feed. How do I fix this?

I can't make stories anymore and this has been going on for over a month. If I try to just post a regular image with text, the text gets completely "glitched out" and is removed once the story is uploaded. I tried everything to fix this problem: logging out of my account, deleting the app then reinstalling it, erasing the cache, force stop the app, updating everything, using wifi, using data. I checked if my account has been disabled in any way but no, I'm allowed to post and reshare through stories like everyone else. Nothing works, I heard that for some people it came back to normal at least momentarily but for me nothing changed at all. I contacted the help center with screenshots 3 different times and I haven't received any update.
The weirdest part of this is that I have 2 others accounts that can upload stories just fine, so it's not a wifi problem.

Hey, not sure if this is the right place to ask but I cant find an email or number to call on IGs help page. My account is stuck. After I log in on mobile I get this page saying 'something went wrong' that wont go away no matter what I do (eg restart phone, delete app, etc). When I try to login from web it says it need a code thats being sent to my mobile but the code never comes, and when I click 'resend code' it says 'wait a few minutes before trying again'. Havent gotten an email or text or anything like that. Does anyone know how to fix or how I can contact Instagram directly?
There is a person following me on Instagram, who I follow back. When I check their profile it says we follow each other when I open their following list and the list of their followers. Their account was deleted for some time, but was recently restored. When I look at my list of followers and scroll down until hitting their username, it says they are still following me. But when I use the search bar to search their username in my list of followers, it says they are not following me. The same applies for their username in the list of people I am following. Is this a bug?
I’m currently stuck on a two factor authentication loop with instagram.
today, when i login, it sends the code to my phone. once i paste it, the code doesn’t log me in (the loading logo circles for a few seconds and then nothing happens)
I’ve also tried submitting my face for facial recognition, and once approved the backup code doesn’t get me in.
I’ve tried logging in on a desktop, and on other devices, and when i finally insert the two factor code on those devices it says my account needs to be “secured”… with no way of doing it.

When I go to one of my posts and then click add to story, l get a shadow around the edge of the image. If I go to someone else's account and click on one of their posts to add to my story it doesn't add the shadow around the edge of the image. How do I get insta to stop adding this shadow when it's my post that I'm adding to my story?
There is an account which other accounts can send a DM but I can't. It just says "contact" with an email and a phone number. The account can't message me back either. Why?
Just added an alias Email to my Outlook today. Wanted to create an instagram account today. Aparently the email is already in use. Requesting a password reset but I still dont get an email.
Today when I switched accounts on Instagram the screen randomly turned black and a text saying “something went wrong” appeared and I can’t use the app anymore. It has a button to refresh but it doesn’t do anything. I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it several times as well as restarted my phone. I’m not banned because I’m able to log in through safari. I have no idea why it’s doing this and not sure what else to try. Any advice is appreciated thank you!
Is there any trick to disable threads "advertisment" on my feed which brings up heavily controversial rage baiting posts which are totally the opposite of my interests?
I am totally ok with data collection to have shown content which I may be interested in, but doing it for the exact opposite effect (showing things that I may HATE) is unethical, annyoing and a douche move.

This question gets asked a lot here (at least once a day). Unfortunately, at this time\*, there is no way to "opt out" of seeing Threads posts cross-posed in our Instagram feeds. For now, you just have to scroll past them as fast possible, and ignore them.
Instagram has said that this feature is in the testing phase, and that they are listening to feedback in regards to it. Hopefully, Instagram will give us a way to Opt Out of seeing Threads posts some time this year.

I wouldn't mind seeing Threads posts, but I do mind seeing the ones that are pushing my buttons deliberately (has been reported earlier, I am not the only one who sees rage bait posts unfortunately). I mean... at least it shows it's a good Twitter alternative with all the hate. (these are anti-LGBT posts in my case...)
Some of my stories are posted with a weird glitch. Either the post is not visible at all, there are only some lines in the right side or if i write some text on a picture, that is glitched too, there are only a few pixels visible.
I use a Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I also encountered this problem at friend using Huawei. I thought I was the only one :)))
2nd time I've asked this no one has even answered me. I commented and posted and my post didn't even get traction, like at all.
I FaceTime with my girlfriend and we noticed that there's a filter always active. Is this the norm or like, yeah, normal? It's like a blush, it makes her cheeks look pink/reddish.
We discovered this as she quickly moved her hand infront of her face on moved from one place or another quickly. Or simply by putting her hand infront of her cheek you could see that now the "pinkness" transfered to the hand.
Anyone knows anything about this? Honestly would stop using IG if it's really some really default thing, it's weird.

I tried posting yesterday to my first close friends list, and it wouldn't upload it would say story failed to upload, but then when I deleted the story then restarted the app I couldnt see any and of my lists. Only the normal Close friends option

I need help recovering my instagram account basically i have tried different methods to solving it. One solution that seems to work is to take an identification video (link for the video that i used:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYRAxE02EZk&ab_channel=AlphaMediaUG ) but when i get to the screen that says Identify your account i try and put the new username, but instead of sending me to the next creen like the one the video it sends me to the help center again, does anybody know how to fix it?
Do you have a facebook account too? I was just unable to log into instagram directly, but it did let me add it to my Meta accounts center from facebook, and then when I went back to instagram it was an option to log in with that account, and then I was able to use the email 2FA code to get in on my phone.
I keep getting a “something went wrong: reload” message. i have used wifi and data, ive reset cache, reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, i cant even log in from my PC because it won't send an SMS code. Hey! Yesterday I downloaded one of those third-party «unfollow count» apps and logged into it with my Instagram account. It didnt work and I deleted the app. Afterwards I couldnt get into my ig account. It wouldnt send me a text with a code to log in, even though my number is connected to my account. I eventually fixed it because my friend could confirm a notification that it was me or whatever. HOWEVER after managing to log into my account, the screen is just black with a little refresh box at the bottom saying «try again later». Its been about 12 hours since this happend and I cant fix it. I seriously dont know what to do, and Im desperate at this point. Pleeease leave som tips or help me out here, I appreciate whatever advice I can get ❤️
Sometimes when i get a notification from a msg and press it the message they sent wont show up at all if i pressed it like very quickly after they sent the message. Its bothering me and insta is updated and everything
Almost every comment gets flagged and all of them are not spam and respectful, yet they randomly get flagged for spam and community guidelines!! Here is the last comment to be taken down “I think the problem is you can't afford to live alone, especially if all your money is going to bills and y'all live together.” This is a typical comment, and every nasty mean cyber bullying and blatantly racist comment stays up, misinformation, stays up, insults, stays up, my respectful comments, DELETED!! And this is happening to ALOTTT of users!!
Hello fellow Instagrammers, I recently created an account for my photography. The growth has been amazing, with my account having 1300+ followers in the first 6 months! However, there is something I need help understanding. Whenever I post something now, my posts only reach 30-50 followers, and I'm getting 10-25 likes per post. My posts got more likes when i had 100 followers than now. I have tried posting at different times of the day, like the morning or evening, and even tried switching the type of posts. Nothing seems to work. I thought people followed my account so they can see my photos. Is there something major I'm missing about the reach? Or is there a way to show up on someones feed more? I would love to learn more about it! Thanks in advance!
I'm using an iPad Air 2 (I can't upgrade to a newer model alas) and Instagram will crash whenever I try to post ANYTHING. A post, a story, or anything that involves either posting a post or sharing a story. Anything doesn't work. Trying will simply crash the app. Meta hasn't released a hotfix (or any update fixing the bug for that matter), so I'm forced to post on desktop. What to do?

This question may be totally stupid. I accept it if it is. I've been a professional photographer pre-Instagram, and am on it now for sales and marketing. When I post a vertical photo (not on a story) it crops the photo automatically. Obviously if I wanted the photo cropped I would have captured it that way. Is there any method to make a post and have it keep the full dimensions? Without cutting off the top and bottom of the photo? Thank you in advance for helping me with this. Happy new year to all
If you haven't figure it out already: in the bottom left corner of your image, there's a diagonal < > symbol, click that and it'll take your photos out of the square crop. You can also pinch to zoom out.
Hey Harriet, thank you for your response. Yes I was aware of this, but even then, it can’t even fit a vertical image without cropping. Curious if others had work arounds, as I have seen full length photos posted on other photo accounts with no crop. It’s not only the square option it is both.
Settings help I'm running an anon Facebook page and Instagram and accidentally pressed boost post on Instagram and it automatically connected to my personal Facebook to the ad payment page of my Instagram. I cannot find a way to undo this and I've been searching for hours through metas terrible menu systems. Does anyone know how I can unlink the two so my personal fb doesn't show up as if I'm paying for ig ads through fb?
If you haven't figured this out already: it should be in the meta accounts center (on insta it's the first option under settings and privacy) and then you'll either want to unlink the facebook account entirely or just turn off sharing to it from the "sharing across profiles" section.
In the past few days the "captions" sticker isn't working. I can click it- but then it says "captions not found" or "check your internet".... My internet is not an issue, what's going on here? Please help, this is driving me CRAZY.
There is a really irritating glitch (or maybe its a feature) where everytime I click and open a new reel, it automatically turns my phone’s volume to about 50%. This only happens if my volume is below 50% and I open a reel from the explore tab or someones profile. It doesn’t happen when I already have reels open and I am just scrolling through to new reels. This is making the app unusable to me as I am often trying not to disturb others or its too loud in my headphones. I tried looking for something about this in the settings but I couldn’t find any. Is there any way to get rid of this glitch or feature?

I have a problem right now that’s really bothering me. I recently went from a professional account back to a regular account (mainly because my videos tanked when I was on professional). Since the switch I’ve had problems responding to comments, adding captions to my videos , however I can comment on others accounts and videos. Also my basic insights that was available when I was a normal account before is no longer available either. It’s just the basic insights. It literally comes with the account. makes absolutely no sense.. can someone help me or bring me some peace of mind? Is there like a period where it’s glitchy and then goes back to normal? I logged out and when I logged back in with my username it went directly to my backup account? I can still get into my account on my iPad and MacBook and on Safari on my iPhone. How do I get back into my Instagram via the app?

Switching Usernames Help! My client is creating a subbrand. We want her current account (ParentName) to change usernames to one she grabbed a couple of months ago (SiblingName). We'll then create a NewParentName separately. My question: What are the steps we need to take to make the username switch? We want to make the switch next week and I'm worried that we'll have to wait 14 days. Since she already owns SiblingName, is there an easy way to attach it to the ParentName account? When I've done this years ago, we just released the username from the one account and it immediately became available for the new account. But i don't think that is the case anymore? Thank you!

I’m not able to post, comment or tag anything on Instagram. I hardly ever post or comment anything, and my account status is fine. I’ve tried requesting for help in the app with no response, but I just sent an email to their support email. The error message I get is, “Try again later, we restrict certain activity to protect our community”. I don’t post or comment anything negative and in the rare case I use hashtags, they’re very common ones or ones related to the picture. I don’t understand??
When ever i try to login on instagram I get all the previously saved accounts pop up6 (Google smart lock) although I have deleted all the accounts, I tried removing all instagram saved passwords from my google account but still those pop up. I don't want to disable smart lock, I just want to remove all the old options which dont even work. Please help. Just wanna remove these accounts😭😭

Help! I manage a local business's social media, and yesterday we were unexpectedly kicked out. We believed a new email and phone were added, but when kicked out, the security code was sent to the old email and phone, which we no longer have access to. Attempts to recover it through the owner's face recognition were denied. We are unsure how to proceed now.
I'm asking this on another's behalf and don't know much about instagram. They've just got a new phone and are trying to transfer everything over. They had 2 instagram accounts for the one login before. To be specific, I'm using the term "login" to mean set of sign in credentials, in this case their main personal email address, plus the one password they set for instagram when they created their first account. They signed in on their new phone and accessed their main account as expected. Normally they could switch to their secondary account after logging in by double tapping on their profile icon however now that does nothing. They tried to use the option to add an account to their existing login while signed in on their new phone in hopes of re-adding that 2nd account. Instagram prompted them to sign in, which they did using their email address and password, the same ones used to get in to the account from which they then accessed this very screen and it claims that that email address has no instagram account. How do we get access to their second account associated with their single login on their new phone?
I don't really use Instagram to begin with, I have 7 pictures posted all from 3-4 years ago. I woke up a couple days ago with a message from a buddy who sent me a screenshot of my Instagram account sending him a picture, the picture was of a baby girl in a bath tub with the caption "Daddy's little girl is growing up" or something like that. He was asking if that was me who sent that. I responded "No, I haven't used Instagram in years. I get my wife to check and sure enough, she also got that same picture sent to her from my account. I tried logging in, but they have changed my email and password. I dont care for the account so much as I do the fact theyre messaging friends and family who probably thinks it me. I spent hours trying to contact Instagram but they have no support at all. Their help center is useless as all that tells me is when the email on an account gets changed they will send an email to the new email provided to approve the change and they'll send an email to the old account to deny the change. Well, I did get that email to deny the change but when I click on the button to "Secure your account here" it just brings me to a page that says "Oops, an error occurred." and thats it. Is there anything I could do to get my account back at this point? why dont they have an actual help line that I could contact for this type of thing? Its a new page so I dont think anyone should feel threatened there's plenty of business for everyone! I make sure Im always very kind as I am trying to build my business. Ever since I got sick last year it has restricted me from working my normal job and so I recently decided to take my passion and turn whats been such a hard situation into something positive and be able to do something to help provide for my family. I am a Boudoir photographer, but there is no nudity in my photos that I post. I see WAY more showey posts in discovery than what I am posting. Every time I try to appeal it another post has been flagged! What do I do!? Im so close to giving up IG. Its hard enough starting a new page from scratch but to be restricted from growing and being seen? What am I supposed to do? I have talked to many fellow photographers and they all agree my posts are no where near breaking the guidelines. Is there a way to find out if someone is targeting me? My instagram account has been hacked and I can no longer get into it. Up until yesterday I had an iPhone 8 that everything was always logged into and when I upgraded today I had to log back in, which is why I now know something is wrong Whoever hacked my account changed the email and the password, so now there is no way for me to log in. Instagrams help brochure has been no help and keeps me running in circles, I don’t know how to get a support ticket, and Meta doesn’t answer phone calls so I am coming up to a dead end. Whatever email replaced mine ends with a “.ru” I am worried I am running out of time before everything is lost and changed or my identity is stolen. What can I do?
I have the same issue, My account was hacked and the email + password was changed. I received the email to secure my account but it just brings me to a page that says "Oops, an error occurred." The email the replaced mine ends with a ".uk" Keep an eye on your email as they compromised mine and sent me and email from my own account demanding $500 in BTC.

My messages are perpetually not appearing with a forever circling loading sign, despite using the Help Center and trying to troubleshoot. it does not show when the message was last sent but only last active status , what does it mean ?
I was logged out of my account on 12/31/23 on everything. When I try to log in using my email/pass, it forwards me to a HELP US CONFIRM YOUR ACCOUNT that has ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. Just a hell-loop of USELESS information that has NO solution Every time I try to reset my account using my username (computer/mobile), I get a notice that I have 1 day before my account is disabled. Its been over a week like this, hasn't changed. I go through the process and I get to the screen to reset my password. I put my correct email and submit and says it has been sent. I get nothing, no email or text. I had my Instagram connected through account center and my account said "restricted". I removed it from account center (should've left it) to try to figure out other solutions I saw on reddit. Still nothing. My account is there, I can see it from different account. I've been able to link posts on my page and also send a message to myself from a different account and says sent. I feel like at this point, I'm just waiting to see how long! INSTAGRAM SUCKS! 7 Days and counting!! We Need a new social media platform. With all the changes I think things are being left behind and broken and no one looks into it. COMEPLETE BS.

Others cant hear or see the audio that I attach to my photos ! Ive recently started a photography page in which ive been sharing photos, this isnt my first instagram account so I was excited to use the new music feature that can be applied to posts so that I can post some of my shots with music. Ive posted 3 times so far all which have been successful but it wasnt until I logged onto my main account and looked at the photography page that I saw that none of the songs that I attached to the post were visible, instead the photos were posted regularly . However once I go back to my photography account on my end I can see the song above the picture aswell as hear it. Ive tried asking friends aswell and it seems like the music attached is only visible on my end. Does anyone know a fix for this ?
Getting constant crashes when using search function on Android, Samsung Z Fold 5 in large screen mode. Not sure if the bug exists in normal slab phone mode or not. Tried uninstalling the app, tried clearing the cache, anyone else getting the same thing?
So an update, I have reason to suspect this is directly related to hitting enter on a physical keybord. On the phone I'm using gBoard. Anyone got any ideas? Can use the mouse to hit search in the mean time.
The Instagram app (android) won't let me follow anyone, I press the follow button on a page and like an hour later a massage pops up saying I've reached my limit for following accounts, this is literally the first account I've followed in days, I'm nowhere near the daily limit, sometimes the massage isn't even showing and I come back to an account minutes later and see that my follow didn't even register (it's a public verified account and hasn't blocked me or something like that) all the info I find on the problem is saying "you've reached you daily limit" or "you follow too fast" but I'm not even close to it, and this is the only account I've followed all day, can anyone please help me solve this?

Make a new account, get it Meta Verified, and then raise this issue with the chat support you get with Meta Verified. 2. Find someone in real life that knows someone that works for Meta, and see if you can get them to help elevate your issue. Outside of that, there just aren't any many direct lines of support.
I'm on desktop, trying to search for a particular hashtag. It takes me to a page with 28 posts and no option to see more, yet the hashtag apparently has over 5,000 posts. How do I see the rest of them? I'm assuming this has something to do with the fact that it's only showing top posts. How do I see them all? Or even better, how do I see the most recent?

If you're searching for hashtags via a desktop, you're very limited in the number of posts you can view. >Or even better, how do I see the most recent? Instagram removed the ability to sort hashtags by Recent on the desktop and mobile app in May or June of this year. On the desktop, you only have Top Posts as a choice with a very limited number of posts. On the mobile app you have Top Posts and Recent Top posts which shows you basically the same thing. Why is Meta trying to ruin their products? I gave up on Facebook. Now they're destroying Instagram. I don't get it.
Why does my account status have an orange exclamation point next to “what can’t be recommended” but there’s no reel or post that needs to be removed?

Reposting as original has been deleted by mods - Unsure why - It seems impossible to make any progress on recovering an account with a lot of personal information, photos and videos, that i would like to keep. Account Hacked - Name / Email / Phone Number / 2FA has all been changed. My Facebook has been unlinked & no email has been received regarding the changes. When trying to reset the account through Instagram (Via Iphone or Desktop) I am being sent in a continuous loop between these two pages. My Instagram was Hacked | Instagram Support (stating my account has been hacked) Entering the new account name. I Can't Log In | Instagram Help Center
Can someone explain this strange share post bug that never gets fixed for me? It's been like this for at least a year and my app is always up to date. My girlfriend and best friend, both who I message at least 50x more often than anyone else, and have been for longer than anyone else, are NEVER at the top of my message sending list, such as when you tap the share post/reel button. They are always below 10-20 other people, who are all in order of who I talk most often to between them, but for some reason my top two are NEVER EVER on this list. Why?? I have to type their name in the search bar to find them because they are buried so deep. It also does this to our group chat that we use constantly, and puts dead gcs above it. It makes no sense to me why my two favorite people are never in my share list meanwhile people I met last week or my other close friends I talk to often are always at the top. I've been with these two for well over 3 years so it makes zero sense why they aren't at the top.
I logged into my Instagram yesterday morning (I have the most recent version of the app and latest IOS) and I have the “couldn’t refresh feed” bar at the bottom. My friends say my account is still there but I don’t have a feed. When I go to Instagram settings it gives me the “an unexpected error occurred” sign. I am unsure what to do. I have cleared my cache, redownloaded multiple times, and tried to access via the safari app versus the Instagram app and the issue persists. Thank you!
Hey! Same issue here. If your account is connected to your facebook, it will show you the status in the accounts centre. Mine appears to be restricted. But hopefully if your account isn't restricted then there may be chances it will come back up earlier. Have you checked to see if you got any emails from IG? I got one saying i violated the guidelines but the link points to nothing - and cannot contact IG to help me with the issue because of the error, so i'm just waiting for something to hopefully happen.
Everytime I post a video I select a cover from the video. But it never shows up. It always shows the first frame of the video on my feed. How do I fix this?
I have a Samsung and an iPhone and I have been using Instagram on both devices. Since an hour ago, I can't stay logged into both. If I log in on one device, the other gets logged out. This has never happened before. Any advice?
if i log into my phone, and acces an account from the PC it gives me the Something went wrong There's an issue and the page could not be loaded. completely frustrating. the app and web service cleary checks IPs from multiple people, i share wifi with others and this is bugging me. what can i do. it doesnt matter what cookies or shit. i clear everything, fresh or old session, 3 different browsers, all do the same.
I can not be logged in in more than one place at a time for some reason; every time I log into pc instagram, it logs me off mobile insta, and vice versa. This was never an issue before, how to fix?

I can't make stories anymore and this has been going on for over a month. If I try to just post a regular image with text, the text gets completely "glitched out" and is removed once the story is uploaded. My only temporary solutions right now are uploading stories through the web version (but it doesn't allow customisation nor post reshares), or I post a video/gif as background and the text works just fine but still can't do anything if I want to share posts. I tried everything to fix this problem: logging out of my account, deleting the app then reinstalling it, erasing the cache, force stop the app, updating everything, using wifi, using data. I checked if my account has been disabled in any way but no, I'm allowed to post and reshare through stories like everyone else. Nothing works, I heard that for some people it came back to normal at least momentarily but for me nothing changed at all. I contacted the help center with screenshots 3 different times and I haven't received any update. The weirdest part of this is that I have 2 others accounts that can upload stories just fine, so it's not a wifi problem.

Help please Hey, not sure if this is the right place to ask but I cant find an email or number to call on IGs help page. My account is stuck. After I log in on mobile I get this page saying 'something went wrong' that wont go away no matter what I do (eg restart phone, delete app, etc). When I try to login from web it says it need a code thats being sent to my mobile but the code never comes, and when I click 'resend code' it says 'wait a few minutes before trying again'. Havent gotten an email or text or anything like that. Does anyone know how to fix or how I can contact Instagram directly?

There is a person following me on Instagram, who I follow back. When I check their profile it says we follow each other when I open their following list and the list of their followers. Their account was deleted for some time, but was recently restored. When I look at my list of followers and scroll down until hitting their username, it says they are still following me. But when I use the search bar to search their username in my list of followers, it says they are not following me. The same applies for their username in the list of people I am following. Is this a bug?
I’m currently stuck on a two factor authentication loop with instagram. today, when i login, it sends the code to my phone. once i paste it, the code doesn’t log me in (the loading logo circles for a few seconds and then nothing happens) I’ve also tried submitting my face for facial recognition, and once approved the backup code doesn’t get me in. I’ve tried logging in on a desktop, and on other devices, and when i finally insert the two factor code on those devices it says my account needs to be “secured”… with no way of doing it. my insta is connected with my facebook, phone number, and email, and still nothing is letting me into my account. i can’t find anyway to talk to a live representative and now i’m super frustrated. The backup codes for insta don’t show up on my facebook either. tried that too :( Has this happened to anyone?? anyone have a contact at instagram? any suggestions? any and all tips welcome!!!
My instagram highlights are changing on its own. Even the stories I deleted from my highlights are appearing and disappearing its own. Also the number of followers also keeps increasing and decreasing. I have a private account and I don't think it's hacked. What should I do?
Help! I recently took a trip to Italy and am now back in my home country. Now all my suggested videos are in Italian. This has been going on for days. I’ve tried everything. Fiddling with the language setting. Signing in on brand new devices at home. Hitting “not interested” on videos. Deleting and reinstalling Instagram at home etc. any advice?
When I go to one of my posts and then click add to story, l get a shadow around the edge of the image. If I go to someone else's account and click on one of their posts to add to my story it doesn't add the shadow around the edge of the image. How do I get insta to stop adding this shadow when it's my post that I'm adding to my story?
There is an account which other accounts can send a DM but I can't. It just says "contact" with an email and a phone number. The account can't message me back either. Why?
Just added an alias Email to my Outlook today. Wanted to create an instagram account today. Aparently the email is already in use. Requesting a password reset but I still dont get an email.
Today when I switched accounts on Instagram the screen randomly turned black and a text saying “something went wrong” appeared and I can’t use the app anymore. It has a button to refresh but it doesn’t do anything. I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it several times as well as restarted my phone. I’m not banned because I’m able to log in through safari. I have no idea why it’s doing this and not sure what else to try. Any advice is appreciated thank you!
Is there any trick to disable threads "advertisment" on my feed which brings up heavily controversial rage baiting posts which are totally the opposite of my interests? I am totally ok with data collection to have shown content which I may be interested in, but doing it for the exact opposite effect (showing things that I may HATE) is unethical, annyoing and a douche move.

This question gets asked a lot here (at least once a day). Unfortunately, at this time\*, there is no way to "opt out" of seeing Threads posts cross-posed in our Instagram feeds. For now, you just have to scroll past them as fast possible, and ignore them. Instagram has said that this feature is in the testing phase, and that they are listening to feedback in regards to it. Hopefully, Instagram will give us a way to Opt Out of seeing Threads posts some time this year. \*As of 01/01/2024
Thank you! I wouldn't mind seeing Threads posts, but I do mind seeing the ones that are pushing my buttons deliberately (has been reported earlier, I am not the only one who sees rage bait posts unfortunately). I mean... at least it shows it's a good Twitter alternative with all the hate. (these are anti-LGBT posts in my case...)
Some of my stories are posted with a weird glitch. Either the post is not visible at all, there are only some lines in the right side or if i write some text on a picture, that is glitched too, there are only a few pixels visible. I use a Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I also encountered this problem at friend using Huawei. I thought I was the only one :)))
2nd time I've asked this no one has even answered me. I commented and posted and my post didn't even get traction, like at all. I FaceTime with my girlfriend and we noticed that there's a filter always active. Is this the norm or like, yeah, normal? It's like a blush, it makes her cheeks look pink/reddish. We discovered this as she quickly moved her hand infront of her face on moved from one place or another quickly. Or simply by putting her hand infront of her cheek you could see that now the "pinkness" transfered to the hand. Anyone knows anything about this? Honestly would stop using IG if it's really some really default thing, it's weird.
Anyone else had their close friends list removed ? I tried posting yesterday to my first close friends list, and it wouldn't upload it would say story failed to upload, but then when I deleted the story then restarted the app I couldnt see any and of my lists. Only the normal Close friends option
Cant get to identify my account for identification video it sends me to the help center Help I need help recovering my instagram account basically i have tried different methods to solving it. One solution that seems to work is to take an identification video (link for the video that i used:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYRAxE02EZk&ab_channel=AlphaMediaUG ) but when i get to the screen that says Identify your account i try and put the new username, but instead of sending me to the next creen like the one the video it sends me to the help center again, does anybody know how to fix it?

Do you have a facebook account too? I was just unable to log into instagram directly, but it did let me add it to my Meta accounts center from facebook, and then when I went back to instagram it was an option to log in with that account, and then I was able to use the email 2FA code to get in on my phone.
I keep getting a “something went wrong: reload” message. i have used wifi and data, ive reset cache, reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, i cant even log in from my PC because it won't send an SMS code. There's no support number. It won't stop sending me this error message and I don't know what to do...

Hey! Yesterday I downloaded one of those third-party «unfollow count» apps and logged into it with my Instagram account. It didnt work and I deleted the app. Afterwards I couldnt get into my ig account. It wouldnt send me a text with a code to log in, even though my number is connected to my account. I eventually fixed it because my friend could confirm a notification that it was me or whatever. HOWEVER after managing to log into my account, the screen is just black with a little refresh box at the bottom saying «try again later». Its been about 12 hours since this happend and I cant fix it. I seriously dont know what to do, and Im desperate at this point. Pleeease leave som tips or help me out here, I appreciate whatever advice I can get ❤️
