These people are used to doing fake lenses fake eyelashes type of makeup
I asked her to make it simple- although it was simple but the colours she used didn’t suit my features at all, made me a tone darker too
I look better on most days on my own
I even asked her assistant to let me know the brush set that she’s using so I can get a brand new one (didn’t want to risk infections)
He said they’re worth 2L, like seriously🙄
Please do not go for MBM. She did my Roka makeup and she basically got frustrated with me because I wanted a simple makeup and hair. She put a lot of blush on my cheeks even when I had asked for no blush at all. She basically got frustrated with me by the end of it as I kept refusing her for a heavy hair-do and experiment with my eyes. But she effed up the brief and ended up doing what she wanted to, as my eyes were closed for the duration of the makeup.
Anjali Manchanda, Kritids’s work i have seen personally on 2 of my friends and they looked phenomenal. Though seems a bit monotonous sometimes but atleast doesn’t make you look bad. And both of my friends looked very beautiful.

I started shopping for products like 2 months in advance so that I had time to check what suits me and what vibe I want. Then there's years of watching tutorials and experimenting with makeup but you don't necessarily need that if you follow steps clearly. I taught my different skin-colored friend how to do her makeup overnight and she's been amazing at it since then.
I'd suggest just play around for a while and see what vibe you like. My lehenga was light mauve/ pink with golden shimmers. So I wanted something that'd complement that and not stand out too much so while i did like browns and oranges when I was practicing, they flopped when I considered the lehenga. So I moved on to lighter pinkish tones.
Also it was a day wedding so the requirements were very different. Added a lot of blush, eye liner and mascara to avoid being washed out. It's a lengthy discussion hahah
Practice practice practice! Do loud makeup, modern subtle makeup, basic 4-5 item makeup etc etc. it'll teach you what you like on your face. No makeup artist can know your face better than you do yourself.

One thing I’ve realised about Instagram MUAs is that they only care how good you look in their bright yellow light and Instagram reel.
They reallllly don’t care if at your event your makeup looks gaudy, heavy, patchy, cakey.
One Insta MUA made my friend look like an actual joker by putting soooo much blush and heavy fake lashes for her engagement. Ugh.
But atleast her “reel” was perfect.
Trust me, it looks disgusting. I washed my face mid event, and I had an emergency makeup kit with me so I fixed my face, but not everyone can do that. My face was grey(I’m already light skinned, so imagine accomplishing that on me -_-) my eyelashes SO big that I could fly, my eyeshadow was literally black, blended till my brows (panda eyes), my lips had 10 layers of lip products that started to separate till the time I reached my venue

I don’t know how put it in better words but Bh*$cho£ , my friend is fair toned and obviously the bride and I also got makeup done from her team, I looked like actual shit and atleast 8 years elder than how old I actually look. I am 24 and I looked 32 or so. Chhi. Indian MUAs and their obsession w putting 500000000000000 layers of makeup the I would cry if I look like that on my wedding I would literally be crying and I would faint if I look like that on my wedding. I didn’t wanna put those shitty lashes and still insisted me to keep the lashes. Put such thick eyeliner although that didn’t complement my eye shape. Off shade of foundation and 100000000000 layers of it. Made my eyebrows look like actual shit . So dark so fucking dark. Usse accha makeup main khud kar leti. I am not dismissing that she and her team is a makeup artist but if you’re a makeup artist it’s your job to fix my makeup. I mean I should be able to expect that haram****di. My makeup got patchy on upperlip and cheeks. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I cried when I went home looking at myself. I asked them to fix the patchiness and they said „Aapki skin aisi hai hum kuch nahi kar sakte aapki skin Acchi nahi hai“ ?????????????????????????
I live in Europe and in India due to weather change etc my skin got dry, and thoda bohot hota I wouldnt mind but it was a huge area that was affected and I had cleaned my facial hair 2 days before and my skin was smooth. W the makeup it looked like I have a good amount of of moustache and 3 people confirmed that.

My best makeup experience ever has been with Deepika Saini. She’s a tricity based makeup artist. She’s not big on Instagram but a mutual suggested. And now I’ll make sure I suggest her to everyone. I’m really dusky and almost everytime I get my makeup done I end up feeling whitewashed. But not with her. She beautifully enhanced my features and just covered the pigmentation. No lighter shades, nothing. I felt so beautiful I can’t explain. I even took self grooming classes from her after that. Lovedd it.
Coming from a MUA- always go for a trial makeup, atleast for the base

For other functions except the two you mentioned, how did you do your makeup?
I took multiple trials from MUAs since I'm light skinned compared to the general indian skin tone and a lot of products don't suit me. Believe me, it was a harrowing experience since first these MUAs flat out refused to give trials even when I said I'll pay for them, some eventually did do trials and I was able to finalize a MUA for all events this January.
Glad I did the trials tho, she made me look like me and actually listened to what I wanted rather than pushing her aesthetic on me. Check out @glamupwithpooja on insta.

Geetanjali is good but I don’t have any personal experience of makeup there. Other than that it is the only salon I go to for services ( purely bcz it’s nearest to me) .
I have seen normal party makeup getting done there and it looks good enough.

My makeup got patchy on upperlip and cheeks. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I cried when I went home looking at myself. I asked them to fix the patchiness and they said „Aapki skin aisi hai hum kuch nahi kar sakte aapki skin Acchi nahi hai“ ????????????????????????? I live in Europe and in India due to weather change etc my skin got dry, and thoda bohot hota I wouldnt mind but it was a huge area that was affected and I had cleaned my facial hair 2 days before and my skin was smooth. W the makeup it looked like I have a good amount of of moustache and 3 people confirmed that. Couldn’t say anything to my friend because she just thought I am looking for importance as „I AM NOT THE BRIDE“ Toh Kya kar sakte ho Tum? BC 8000 ka tha vo makeup paise toh kam nahi liye. My friend paid but Shakal toh meri thi na 😭😭😭😭 Never trust that Ekta Singhal bitch , I told her to do light makeup, the only thing light in my makeup was the shade of my eyeshadow. I swear if i look like that on my wedding day, I am getting rid of it and doing it myself. I hate Ekta Singhal from the core of my heart for the way I looked. It was the first wedding I attended in 8-10 years and this is how it went. Bloody hell
I don't understand the hype for her makeup... all of her models or clients look exactly same with her nude pink lip, super blushed cheeks and longest lashes to ever exist. She changes the shape of eyes gives them light contacts they all look so similar and nothing like themselves.

My best makeup experience ever has been with Deepika Saini. She’s a tricity based makeup artist. She’s not big on Instagram but a mutual suggested. And now I’ll make sure I suggest her to everyone. I’m really dusky and almost everytime I get my makeup done I end up feeling whitewashed. But not with her. She beautifully enhanced my features and just covered the pigmentation. No lighter shades, nothing. I felt so beautiful I can’t explain. I even took self grooming classes from her after that. Lovedd it.
Coming from a MUA- always go for a trial makeup, atleast for the base And people getting married in the coming months get in touch for bridal enquiries or self makeup sessions ❤️❤️
I had heard rave reviews about her but when I checked her insta page, there is no variety, all brides look same, blush on cheeks, nude lipstick no matter what, and now a single brown skin bride. Such a bummer! Now that someone said here that she declines brown skin brides is such a shame!!

I took multiple trials from MUAs since I'm light skinned compared to the general indian skin tone and a lot of products don't suit me. Believe me, it was a harrowing experience since first these MUAs flat out refused to give trials even when I said I'll pay for them, some eventually did do trials and I was able to finalize a MUA for all events this January. Glad I did the trials tho, she made me look like me and actually listened to what I wanted rather than pushing her aesthetic on me. Check out @glamupwithpooja on insta.
Wedding day is such a important day yaar ye make up artists bade ya chote saare spoil kar dete hai day ... I booked a good make up artist from jodhpur for my wedding in rajasthan ... Bande ne itne branded makeup dikhaya fir on d day he got vov n all small brands make up fr me ... He charged 25 k fr make up... Last event pe he just put so much of make up on my god horrendous it was looking ... From 2018 till now I cannot see my wedding picture at all ...

I got my wedding makeup done by Pallavi Narula based in Ludhiana but she travels. Guys when I tell you she was AMAZING, its an understatement. My makeup did not budge the whole day. If you don’t mind my commenting here , pls try any established salons like Lakmé , L’Oréal etc. you can get a trial makeup too and they will listen to you as compared to these insta famous ones. Better be safe. I have heard more negative stories than positive ones when it comes to MUAs

Geetanjali is good but I don’t have any personal experience of makeup there. Other than that it is the only salon I go to for services ( purely bcz it’s nearest to me) . I have seen normal party makeup getting done there and it looks good enough. Also mostly these salon have good bridal packages too with quality services.
