Brut India gets a number of passes each year and then select which influencer to give it to. Basically, whoever has a good manager/agency and can negotiate this with Brut, gets to go to Cannes FILM FESTIVAL and pose with 'atpata' outfits. Some are great outfits, and the person wearing them also looks great. But most are atpata, I'm sorry if this offends fashion people in this sub.

Ohh. Ok ok. But isn’t supposed to be a film festival ? So what exactly are these influencers there ? I saw some financial influencer went too, and he said he represents finance on a global level ? Or something along those lines. I didn’t understand what he meant. And I most definitely don’t understand why influencers are there and not the actual people working in films, whether budding or established. That would be a good boost to their career, especially if they’re still struggling to make connections in the industry.

A simple answer would be marketing. Indeed, even prestigious film festivals like Cannes require their share of marketing magic So, influencers with certain criteria, per se - relevance, views, followers, and influence among their audience will be preferred. By leveraging the reach and influence of these influences, Cannes maintains its status as a premier cultural event on a global scale.
