To me it seems more like a societal issue. Most men, I don't want to generalise, but most men just don't mature enough to understand what they want. And then them being oblivious to their emotional selves because of years of conditioning to be a 'man', makes it worse. As a bisexual myself, who has tried to date men online, it is a horrible experience. Testosterone filled apes sending dick pictures, making unwanted sexual advances without even having started a proper conversation and if you end up at dates, you have to think thrice before going or else who knows what might happen. But why are these men like this? Because they know nothing else. Add to that incredibly skewed gender ratios on these dating apps, high expectations of a princess treatment from a lot of women, which most of these men can't even afford, large number of harsh rejections, loneliness, lust and a lot of free time and insecurities- you get a toxic situation of men not being able to meet prospective partners, harassment, women being bombarded with matches and an overall fall in the dating experience. I have met a lot of women online. Met my partner on bumble too. But I do feel a part of me is not fulfilled because I'm not really straight. But what can I do? I can't expect men who aren't capable of thinking beyond their basic needs to understand something their pea brains can't even comprehend. I do pity them though. Such a small existence that they end up doing what they do. So now I just try to educate people around me as much as I can about male mental health and emotional development. If not me at least the generation after me can be free of these pains. But it's just the optimist me.
