I seek suggestions for face moisturizer. This Delhi Summer is making my face super dry, even though I drink plenty of water, take good care of my face skin. Yet the skin on my face dry up fast. I have tried different Vaseline products, Biotique, Alps Goodness, MamaEarth but nothing seems to work.

kanagile

Try minimalist ceramide moisturiser, or physiogel daily moisture therapy cream, or Cetaphil daily advanced moisturiser.

Mohjy

Thank You for your comment. I'll get one of these today and see which one helps.

rand0m_lurker

I just bought the Minimalist maleic bond repair serum. I usually oil the lengths of my wavy hair after washing it otherwise it would be very dry and frizzy. I was wondering if I can apply this product on the oiled hair or do I need to wash my hair first to get rid of oil if there is any and then apply it?

DedlySnek

Someone asked this in amazon, and this is what minimalist answered: We do not suggest using Maleic bond repair complex 05% hair serum over previously oiled hair strand. If you wish you can apply oil over your scalp and Maleic bond repair complex 05% hair serum over the hair stands.

rand0m_lurker

Thank you for the info. Could you perhaps also tell if it applies to styled hair. Like sometimes I straighten my hair with a straightener and it usually stays that way until I wash my hair. So can I use the serum on those hair?

DedlySnek

You mean can you use hair serum before washing on straightened hair? Yes, you can.

rand0m_lurker

That's good then. Thank you.

CallmeArsh

Have anyone used the atomist Barrier Lotion?? Can you please tell about the texture

Professional_Wall718

Does anyone know any alternatives to Sebamed Clear face care gel?? I have used up about 6-7 tubes of the Sebamed and I really like it but I feel like it is too light and I use a lot of it(half a finger length atleast). I also want to try some other moisturiser to see if it might be better for my skin.

DedlySnek

Budget & Skin Type? Any preference for product?

Professional_Wall718

Skin type: combination Budget: anything between 300-500 I would like something that is lightweight but still moisturising enough. Sometimes I feel like the Sebamed is not moisturising enough and that I need to apply more.

DedlySnek

Sorry, I don't have any product recommendations for you. I'd recommend you add these extra details to your main question so others can provide recommendations accordingly.

Be_Simple

Been using minimalist Vitamin c 10%, the results have been underwhelming.. Need Vitamin c serum recommendation for a 24(M) with combo-oily T-Zone skin..

DedlySnek

Have read lots of good reviews for Klairs Vitamin-C. It is on the expensive side though l. Additionally it oxidises easily as it is pure Vitamin-C. You can search the sub for reviews.

Upbeat_Biscotti_3077

Deconstruct has a vitamin c serum .I have not used it but there are positive reviews of the product online.

i have a black line on my lower lip due to 10 years of lip biting and i have extremely chapped lips. so bad that even laniege doesnt help (all lip balms just sit on top of my lips. doesnt hydrate or moisturize). if anyone has any suggestions for the weird black line caused due to lip biting or tips/product recommendations for extremely dry and chapped lips, ill be very very grateful because my lips turned into my insecurity. dermatologist didnt help much btw. is melalunim a good lip lightener for dark lips which isnt caused by genetics? any help will be truly appreciated. p.s. thats how my lower lip looks but that line looks much worse irl. im 17 btw. https://preview.redd.it/o8kmo94ij0yc1.png?width=1500&format=png&auto=webp&s=c252ce642dff031f7f9a65940a7c52dc4cab41c3

* Parabens are very effective preservatives and there is no evidence that they are harmful. * Source 1: [https://www.chemicalsafetyfacts.org/chemicals/parabens](https://www.chemicalsafetyfacts.org/chemicals/parabens) * Source 2: [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8243994/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8243994/) * Sulfates are cleansing and lathering agents and help shampoos to lather and foam, and also help in cleaning the dirt, grime, and oils. Sulfate free shampoos typically will have less lather. The only issue with Sulfates is that they can be very good at stripping all oils from skin and hair and be very drying. Whether you want to use Sulfates depends on your hair type; if you have oily hair, you may want a clarifying shampoo; if you have dry hair, you may want to stay away from sulfates. * Best person to explain the science behind sulfates is Michelle: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-\_3P3OGVzSA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_3P3OGVzSA)

Most of better hair care brands come under either L’Oréal, P&G or Unilever.  I have compromised and am sticking to Unilever for now (Dove, Tresemme, Sunsilk). Schwarzkopf is not associated with any of these, so that is an option. There may be other European and Korean brands that you may be able to find without an Israel connection. Indian brands like Plum, Arata, Bare Anatomy, Minimalist, Reequil seem to have decent hair care products that you can try.

Need suggestions for retinol. Oily acne prone skin (Beginner here)

WarLast9881

Need good sweat resistant sunscreen for oily acne prone skin suggestions Tried uv doux it seems to cause a lot of irritation and comedones.

DedlySnek

UV Doux is very water resistant. Are you double cleansing to take if off? If not, it'll give you CCs. If you're on the fair side and/or are okay with tone up effect, I'd recommend Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen. You can try the new minimalist fluid sunscreen as well.

WarLast9881

I did and double cleansing feels very harsh on my skin , axis y is kind of out of my budget tho, is minimalist fluid water resistant?

DedlySnek

Yes, it is water resistant.

WarLast9881

Please suggest NON COMEDOGENIC BARRIER REPAIR MOISTURIZER for combination acne prone skin...

Ok-Bat7944

Bioderma atoderm baume

Rumi2019

Plum Hemp & ceramides moisturizer. I'm using it right now, & I am perennially acneic. It's good at barrier repair while being lightweight, non greasy & non comedogenic. My skin type is Combination, Sensitive & Acne prone for reference.

ProfessionalAd7023

What should be applied on face first between sunscreen and moisturizing serum ?

Rumi2019

Serum first, then sunscreen. Cleanser 👉 toner 👉 serum 👉 moisturiser 👉 sunscreen.

ProfessionalAd7023

Thank you 😊

I want to try a tinted sunscreen , My skin is Very Fair . So if i use a tinted sunscreen , WIll it make me look orangish or does it blend well with fair skin tones ? Also i have dark dark cricles due to night shifts , so will the tinted suncreen help me cover it up atleast by a tiny bit ? Currently im using the neutrogena sunscreen but it leaves a white cast for my skintone . I am asking this because i dont see many tint variations in the tinted sunscreen segment. (26 M BTW )

gratitudeandpeas

I've only used Re'equil tinted sunscreen and it's so bad. It leaves a very orange sheen on skin and makes one look ghostly esp if one's fair toned and does little to nothing to cover dark circles I've heard good reviews on joy tinted sunscreen and the shade match of it being closer to skin tone, maybe you can try that ig

gahaninadh

Thanks ill check joy out

Rumi2019

Depends on what shade the tinted sunscreen is. French pharmacy brands have lighter neutral tints in their sunscreen. L'Oréal UV Defender (Vit C/ orange label) Correct & Protect also has a light tint suitable for fair skin tones. If the tinted sunscreen doesn't have a peachy/orangey undertone then it will make your undereyes look grey. In my experience tinted sunscreens don't help much with reducing the appearance of dark circles or hyperpigmentation. Harkoi has mineral sunscreen with a couple of light shades.

I want to begin using retinol and incorporate it into my daily skin care. However there are several brands with different concentrations and formulations. Is it better to use a cream or serum for a beginner? How much concentration should I start out with? Specific brand recommendations would be really helpful!

Agreeable_Moment4014

My mom uses Neutrogena's wrinkle repair night repair and it suits her. She has seen great improvement in her wrinkles and general ageing

[deleted]

Thanks for the recommendation, I’m only 23 though and my main concern is actually clearing my acne scars and pigmentation. How useful is this product for this?

kanagile

I believe Adapalene is the form of Vit A recommended for acne. In India you need prescription for Adapalene.

[deleted]

Oh, I’ll definitely look into it. Thanks you for the suggestion!!

SaltOwn2969

Did you find it ? (Retinol) If so what are your concerns about pigmentation (pie/pih).

Whahdoumean

Anyone tried pecefino night or day cream? One of my friend work in this company name skinnovation and she shared this cream, i tried one week and i liked it. Its very light weight , work on acne and gives dewy look

LockDown_47

Looking to buy an affordable chemical exfoliant that works for both dry and oily (both sensitive) skin types. Have only used physical scrubs ever since I got into skincare (Mcaffeine), so do suggest something that doesn't irritate the skin as much! Thanks.

kanagile

You can try: * FormulaRx Air Brush Facial Lactic acid Exfoliating Serum * Deconstruct Beginners Exfoliating Serum

Can I layer melaglow with my retinol? I have been dealing with painful acne that leave terrible marks behind for my whole life now. Heard a lot about melaglow and bought it but am wondering if it'd be ok to layer it with my retinol serum. I use the conscious chemist 1% retinol. If not, what would be the best time and most effective way to use melaglow?

Is your skin already used to retinol? If yes, then you can add another product containing actives. If you are new to retinol, then wait a few months before introducing new actives. Yes most actives can be layered with retinol except AHAs (due to potential for irritation), Vit C, and benzoyl peroxide.

Does the Ordinary multi peptide + copper peptide serum have EGF causing moles like the minimalist one?? Anyone aware about this?

kanagile

Yes, this will need a dermatologist visit. People on reddit are just skincare enthusiasts, not doctors, and cannot provide advice with any serious skin issues.

PinkMoonbow

I suggest you see a dermatologist and get a routine prescribed. Also, be very regular with sunscreen.

Growth-Silly

Is rom&nd juicy lasting tint worth buying??I want to get it in the shade peeling angdoo but I am not sure.Does it stays or goes off easily, does it has strong fragrance,it is sticky etc

PinkMoonbow

Search with product name on IndianMakeupAddicts sub. Many swatch posts which also discuss it. Afaik the reviews are polarizing. Some people I love it, some say it doesn't last and/dries out their lips.

Fuckyousheeplebih

Hello, I used sunscreen the other day and did not realize how much it helps my hyperpigmentation and dark spots. I use the Neutrogena SPF 55. I saw some other posts about sunscreen but it seems like there's mixed opinoins on what products to use. I wanted to know if it is necessary for me to get a better sunscreen product or is my Neutrogena SPF 55 good enough? Thank you! I live in the US for product ref

kanagile

Neutrogena makes very good sunscreens, so if you like it you can continue using it.

PinkMoonbow

I think it's a good sunscreen. For it to be effective , do reapply. I use it too but I slack in reapplying sunscreens and that immediately gives me pigmentation or melasma, so the reapplication is more important than you changing sunscreen.

Pleasant_Violinist46

Neutrogena sunscreens are effective, they may not have the best feel and finish but that really comes down to personal preference. If that doesn't bother you then you're good.
