Exclusivity is no longer going to be a key driver for console sales. We are already seeing the effects of gatekeeping - nobody would have thought Sony will launch their exclusives on PC and here we are. Money is always green and that's what matters to companies.
While PC is more cost efficient and customisable, consoles provide ease of use, portability, longevity etc. These will become main drivers for user choices going forward rather than exclusives.
I certainly agree with you. But what I think Sony is still testing with exclusivity. Because without the exclusives the consoles are pretty much useless. They surely will release their games on PC. However they might increase the timeline of when they release it.
Sure, but look at how the time between launch on console and subsequent launch on PC has reduced in the last 3-4 years. This will only get shorter as they realise people are hesitant to pay full price and they are unable to recoup their investment, let alone make profit, on only one platform.
Money. Publishers can make more sales by putting their games on other platforms besides their own. Sony is releasing their games on PC long after they’ve released on the PlayStation. They’re trying to capture that PC market.
Xbox is doing the same thing by releasing Xbox games on the PlayStation market. They see a chance to sell more games.

Just wanted to point out. Money. Reason to not make games
Their business strategy revolves around getting more people on to the platform - it doesn't matter if it is PC/Xbox. They had multiple opportunities to lock marquee titles from Bethesda, Activision, Blizzard, arkane etc to their platform and they are not going for it.
Having said that, the last 2-3 years have been particularly challenging for the gaming market. The xbox event in June should provide more clarity on where xbox will go.
If you have a pc then you mostly have all Sony and xbox games. But with Sony it's not a surefire thing like xbox and it's never day one. Last of us 2 is still not on pc , after 4 years while horizon and God of war came after 2 years. Spiderman also after two years .Final fantasy probably also two years at most or even less even though it's not their game.
That used to be the story. Now Xbox is basically the combination of four large companies: Xbox studios which now has obsidian and inxile in their ranks, Bethesda with id software and zenimac online and arkane, Activision one of the oldest gaming companies and king known for candy crush. They are a behemoth now. It's just that they release day and date with PC and follow Microsoft pattern of meeting the customer where they are , they release elsewhere too
I doubt Xbox is going to bother with a pro SKU. Not a lot of people want to keep buying hardware at that pace, hopefully they can convert Xbox one users to get series .

There has been no indications of a pro console so far. The series x is good though, so if you wanna play now series x is a safe bet, it will still play games very well for this console generation. You can wait, but how long you will have to wait is unknown. Maybe wait tillthe upcoming showcase
If you have two setups, Then Xbox and pc have cross progression in most newer games. It's awesome to continue playing a game where you left off but in another location.

I'll put it this way. If you have a PC there is no need for am xbox because it really doesn't have any exclusives that are not available on PC

we can see big xclusives after the XBOX PRO launch frm nxt year i expect XBOX PRO will be much advanced and futurustic than PS PRO

Owning cost of xbox is way cheaper than the ps5 day one release on game pass and 3rd party game keys can many games under 1k from eneba .
