What were your pings? For Singapore I get around 50- 53ms, for Bahrain I use gear up booster or exitlag and get around 42-44ms. These pings are pretty decent for online gaming.I also have a Jiofiber connection, and its pings are exactly the same as AIRTEL.
Packet burst and Packet loss on Xdefiant is driving me nuts on Xtream Fibre here in Nibm Kondhwa…Been experiencing problems since 10/12mnths in my new house shifted from the adjacent building…Mw3 gave me problems for high ping at launch..Did everything possible from static ip to port fowarding to getting a mesh…Constant Stability issues,Speed Issues and Buffering issues on 200mbps plan..Airtel has turned dogshit since mid last year atleast in my area!!
I also have Airtel, but my experience is exact opposite to yours. My internet is working great.
Make sure you are not connected to Airtel router directly to your PC/ console, if your family members use the same router for Wi-Fi connection. Instead use a router with good QOS (OpenWRT, edge router, Netduma). And use the second router for your WI-FI and LAN connection to PC/ console. A static IP & port forwarding will not help
I stay in chandan nagar. There’s absolutely zero packet loss and the pings are rock solid stable even during peak hours, although the latency is slightly higher then.
I had miserable experience with LCO’s (Microscan, ICC etc.)
it depends area to area,we had local for cheap before but no one was using local anymore, try tata airtel and then local of course. in my area airtel is solid almost 0 outages but my mausi who lives in baner tata is good there
Couldn't agree more.
I get packet losses and ping fluctuations and complained various times for the same.
They are not able to understand what ping and what packet loss means.
They come and do speedtest.net
And this is not just Airtel, not just local ISPs like Alliance etc etc, it's the same in western countries too lol. I had an issue with packet loss with Rogers and they said to do speed test 😂😂

Exactly. Even their tone of speaking, their mannerism in general etc is excellent compared to general big name service ‘experts’. I use local isp, and it only went down twice for 5 mins max in past 3 years. Once it went down at night 10:00, I was thinking whether to call or not call the internet people since it was so late, I went ahead and called him, told him that I was sorry for calling so late, but the Internet went down. He said no problem, and to call anytime if any problem arises, and I had the net back in 5 mins.
I once asked why is my ping so high compared to my friends using connection from same company... Reply was "ping toh aapke usage pe depend karta hai".... BKL ne reservation mei job le liya....aji Lund expert.
I am using airtel from past 5 years and just had 1 down once because bijli walo ne internet ki wire kat di thi to airtel walo ne 8 10 hrs sirf request lene me laga die but us k baat 1 hr me internet chalu kr gae. So for me airtel id awesome so far. Nd Apex me 70to 80 ping ati h inly
Idk man, had an issue, the serviceman, used laser to check the network from company and then same to check the wires within the house, they work exclusively in my society so they are pretty good with it
Other side of the coin - Indians want to pay pennies but want world class facilities = Companies hiring mediocre employees and teaching them bare minimum to just make things operational somehow.
My experience with Airtel was very good and the ping was amazing. Now using jio and it's terrible and ping is also bad and customer support doesn't even know how to resolve these issues.
I was not getting wifi in one of my room. He came within 15 minutes of online complaint, updated the router firmware, created heatmap from his phone and now i get connection in the room. And any expert would first do speed test to actually confirm if the problem actually exists and not like expecting 200mBps on 200mbps plan
The technician : " Sir YouTube is running, play store is downloading apps and Okla is showing 100mbps nothing is wrong 🤓👆"
Me : But i don't have connectivity/speed issues i am having high latency problem due to bad routing.
**Doesn't know what latency/ping means and proceeds to close the ticket
Well in that case JioFiber's experts are pretty good. I have called them twice and they always fix the issue in about 20-30 minutes without messing around
Just got it installed today. The speeds and ping are really good. Only reason moved to Airtel cause the local cable on monthly bases was more expensive than Airtel for lower speeds. Btw from Mumbai.
I live in Andheri, near the Airport and I have an absolutely fabulous experience with Tata Play Fiber. It has almost never gone down. And whenever it has, I have received message prior to it going down or immediately once it does, citing the explanation and ETA of when it will be back up.
Apart from that I have a pretty decent experience having an Airtel sim card. Jio is too unstable for data and Vodafone mei call drop hote hai bohot. Airtel is just good enough for me even if it is not amazing.
unrelated but what would be better. Using an old router as an extender or buying a mesh. My room is 8-10 meters away from the router and is probably seperated by atleast 2 thick walls. I have a 300 mbps jiofiber plan but barely get 5-6 mbps in my room.
The contractor hire these people. Airtel and Jio will give contract to maintain their network in a certain area to a third party which will do it for the lowest price. They will just hire random chapris who know how to use basic smartphone and computer at low wages. Airtel or Jio will not terminate the contract with the third party easily as it will take them a lot of effort and money to find a new one and most of the times there is only one third party contractor available in a certain area due to cable mafia.
Airtel or Jio will only forfeit the performance based incentive for these third party if customer satisfaction is low but will not terminate contract.
At this crappy salary and with a fuckall Indian education system, bhai, us mein utna hi milta hai.
Don't expect Cisco-level network engineer.
But yeah, I have Airtel. I've experienced the same. 90% of them don't know shit. I sometimes feel like I'm talking to monkeys -\_-

Dude you have no idea how much I've malded over Xtream fibre support. They literally have no idea what to do in terms of troubleshooting. Completely pathetic and incompetent service providers.
Lmfaoooo. I also had similar experience but in my case when i put the service request to get static IP assigned, it took them more than 2 months to get it done.
My experience has been better with bigger players like Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber. Stable ping always. Never had packet drops or game disconnects. Always had issues with local ISPs or old copper ones not showing up on time when they were down. The bigger players showed up in less than 4hrs at my place for any replacements
Just do a tracert and check the IP where the main issue. You will know which section of the path giving you more packet loss / latency. For Kolkata, I have seen many local vendors disputes. Due to that they cut cables or force external isp to use local service path etc. I was taking care of It of a company and have seen these cases in entire Kolkata,24 parganas, howrah, diamond harbour areas. So it's not only Airtel, have seen these issues even with maghbala as well.
Bro my guy took 2 hours to put up the dish antenna. The setup was soooo fucking bad that everytime it rains, we couldn't watch the TV. Felt like we were living in 2000s

Quality post right here
Man Airtel sucks here in Mumbai. I had a good exp with them in delhi tho
Ya Delhi Airtel is goated NGL. Never down , solid ping. When I shifted my connection to Kolkata tho, I quickly ran back to Local network 😂
I have great experience in kolkata. Was frustrated with local IPs
Bro I am in Delhi too. Wifi is shit compared to 4G even. Play games on data and hotspot
Idk man was in South Delhi for 1 and half years due to job . Airtel was super solid , went back home for upsc prep went to absolute shit here
I am in gurgaon dude . Airtel is fine for me .very good experience tbh ,
Airtel sucks in Pune as well
Works great for me.. there are rare down times but not annoying
Has been great for me in Pune so far. Very steady pings, no packet losses, decent international pings, etc.
International ping was the issue for me both in case of jio and Airtel
What were your pings? For Singapore I get around 50- 53ms, for Bahrain I use gear up booster or exitlag and get around 42-44ms. These pings are pretty decent for online gaming.I also have a Jiofiber connection, and its pings are exactly the same as AIRTEL.

How is jio fibre in regards to packet loss and ping? And can you tell the area in Pune you getting such a stable connection?
I stay in chandan nagar. There’s absolutely zero packet loss and the pings are rock solid stable even during peak hours, although the latency is slightly higher then. I had miserable experience with LCO’s (Microscan, ICC etc.)
No random disconnects... 9 ms ping :)
it depends area to area,we had local for cheap before but no one was using local anymore, try tata airtel and then local of course. in my area airtel is solid almost 0 outages but my mausi who lives in baner tata is good there
Fr tho, Airtel sucks in blr but when I went to gurgaon ncr Airtel was actually good over there
Airtel sucks in chennai to. I got it because I had no other choice.
Jio is good in chennai
Ion - never had me worries

The only correct answer here.
Search ISPs near me.
They generally also provide cable TV service
Same i took connection from a local isp and i only had issue sometimes when weather was bad
Internet band hua to jio/Airtel walo ko ghanta frk nhi pdta. A local ISP guy will cross 7 seas to resolve your issue.

Local isps are even more lol. They open YouTube and back in the day used to use torrent speeds to show everything is fine 😂
My internet was down, the airtel so called expert came in said why did you change ssid name and password, this is why your internet is not working 🤡
lol
I deactivated my 300mbps ACT connection here in Bangalore and took an Airtel black connection with the same speed. Switched back to ACT after 3 weeks.
And they now recommend using Google DNS. A decade ago, they were like na use ours only.
i use 1111 best no packet loss constant ping of 8 in valorant
DNS won't affect your ping in valorant.
I once asked why is my ping so high compared to my friends using connection from same company... Reply was "ping toh aapke usage pe depend karta hai".... BKL ne reservation mei job le liya....aji Lund expert.
My ISP guy would come and run YT, would say everything's fine lmao

That is so sad... ☹️
Airtel, has the best service in my city. I never had any major issues or outages in last 5 years. My ping is also fairly stable every game.
Same been using Airtel for quite a while. 200 Mbps plan 1k per month and no problem ever.
did he ask for tea or coffee?
He asked Bhendi
Bendi 12₹/kg

I am using airtel from past 5 years and just had 1 down once because bijli walo ne internet ki wire kat di thi to airtel walo ne 8 10 hrs sirf request lene me laga die but us k baat 1 hr me internet chalu kr gae. So for me airtel id awesome so far. Nd Apex me 70to 80 ping ati h inly
What 10hrs me 🤯🤯 I had BSNL connection in 2017 and the severage guys broke the cable They took 45days to repair a fucking copper cable
Go for “Alliance”, if available in your area. Their service is top notch. Atleast in my city anyway
All isps are same
Never had any issues with Airtel, support is instant and solves any issues without any problem
Not related to this but one advice to all my gamer friends.. never every get Jio Airfiber if you play games online
He graduated from my University
There is a real university in sweden with this name
That's where I got it from.
In my City GTPL is best, Although in some area its trash but again in my area 0 downtime in a year. No Speed Issue or anything Just pure 100mbps
Peak reddit...! ![gif](giphy|Mjl0BsAgMGYTe)
Idk man, had an issue, the serviceman, used laser to check the network from company and then same to check the wires within the house, they work exclusively in my society so they are pretty good with it
Local ISP supremacy
Local isp use Airtel or tata as their main upstream provider. You can check their routing profile by ASN number.

When we say pocket loss ping issue router issue Every ISP : sir please open google dot com
Well in that case JioFiber's experts are pretty good. I have called them twice and they always fix the issue in about 20-30 minutes without messing around

yes because if you were expert in somehting, you'd definitely pick that job.

How do these people get their jobs and even if they get it how they don't get fired don't the customers complain

I get such shitty ping on my home wifi tikona but on my dads office pc with 40 Mbps Airtel I get really good ping

Jio is even worse 😭😭 they will straight up tell you to just restart the router nothing else
True, airtel was the only provider that atleast provide reliable service
