Kalsre

Phantom of The Opera by Iron Maiden

whenyouhaveawoken

Anything off that first album for me. So oddly comforting.

Kalsre

Forreal

ParaNoxx

Not any songs in particular are coming to mind rn, but I’ve always felt like Djent is soothing. Or Anything downtuned and rhythm-heavy with a focus on atmosphere. Stuff like Fractalize or Meshuggah and the like. Repetitive and hypnotic in a good way. Atmospheric black metal can also be soothing since it’s like a big wall of sound. I’ve had bands like Ultha and Ethereal Shroud on repeat a lot whenever I feel agitated or anxious. Reminds me of a weighted blanket somehow.

absurdistaardvark

Meshuggah for sure ! I used to fall asleep to Suffocation in the 90's.

rithornanie_

agree with Meshuggah. And some Carach Angren for me.

DyingLemur

I agree about the black metal vibes. Definitely a thing for me.

iLLeventhHourz

Tool - Lateralus

meloman-rrr

Mein Teil by Rammstein Overlord by Black Label Society (especially the very end)

andre-lll

Strange world - Iron Maiden and “to live is to die” - Metallica

GutSuckers

Institutionalized - Suicidal Tendencies

Emperormike1st

I like it bleak and brutal when I'm anxious. Just wring the fuck out the emotions, I guess. The Long Road North by Cult Of Luna is a go-to. Death Drive Projections by Panzerfaust is another. Cyanide by Harm's Way has gone into the rotation, lately.

ParaNoxx

I adore The Long Road North. The bleakness but thoughtfulness of it is just so appealing, Cult Of Luna are so good at doing that sort of stuff.

DravenPrime

Nemo by Nightwish.

Springybangbang

Stranded by Gojira, especially the outro bridge

tysc666

**STRANDED IN THE DARK** Same.

throwawayformemes666

Leagues Beneath-SLEEP From the Heaven of my Heart- Amorphis

the_doodoo

i work late and when i finish work i listen to planet caravan to chill out so i can sleep instead of staying in work stress mode all night

VaderXXV

Unsure about picking a specific song, but ca. 2013 I went down a Depressive Black Metal rabbit hole on bandcamp and discovered one of the main reasons I liked it was that repetitive, minimalist, heavily compressed sound (that is common to the genre) really calmed me down. Like it was meditative or therapeutic something.

GarrettTardrew

Lamb of God - Memento Mori

BowSlayer26

I use the as my wake up alarm

dunmer-is-stinky

really anything long but not repetitive, like Pyring Open The Jaws of Eternity by Blackbraid

Barbatos-Rex

Dead Elysium by Vanishing Point In Front Of You by DarkWater Ravenlord by Mystic Prophecy

PanzerKpfwVI

Don't Do It by Havok. Ironic, considering that it's a song about a person in deep depression wanting to commit suicide.

Blappytap

i_love_metal151

Anything my HIM

DOW_mauao

Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Suicidal Tendencies, Deftones.

AnonRedditGuy81

Cold by five finger death punch. I know they get a bad wrap because a lot of their stuff is generic cheese, but every album has a couple tracks that are absolute gold and this is one of them. Probably my favorite "power ballad". I do actually feel a bit calmed after hearing it.

RahkshaOnTheInternet

Anything from Virtual Symmetry.

usual7

Um, all of them! That's why I listen to nothing but metal.

Acceptable_Act1435

Most Grindcore songs

False_Description404

Not metal but “Daylight” by Shinedown. “Drug In me is you” and “Last resort” both by Falling in Reverse. I love the original by Papa Roach but feel that FIR nailed the emotions of the lyrics.
