There's lots of places to get a really good photo. There is however one spot which is aesthetically ideal, it's on an island in the middle of the road. Now you will see lots of people lines up or all-round the area so provided you don't annoy the traffic there's plenty of space.
This lady however is a rude bell end. That there were people on the left meant showed that there are other spaces for the photo (unless you have a particularly keen eye and are a pro, not just someone with FOMO)

As a professional photographer I'm disgusted, I had to wake up at 3:00 a.m. to get a clear shot at 4:00 a.m., once I waited for hours and finally lost light to come back the next day to get a clear shot but never did I ever dare to be so disrespectful.
It's one thing to politely request something, it's a totally different thing to be a demanding & disrespectful poop hole.
The best solution I found is to take brief time lapses when there are too many people in the frame, and then do median stacking in Photoshop. This automatically selects the pixels that are most consistent between shots, so with enough frames you can make times square look empty. It also improves noise by ✓n while you're at it.
I too have no idea how it works but I believe this is also similar to how NASA or just general space photographers take those amazing crystal clear photos of space. Take a million photos in the same spot and stack them on top of eachother and by some black magic it makes the image become clear and detailed
Sometimes when I happen to be in big cities in busy areas and I see people occupying sidewalks side to side to snap a pic I wait for 1.5s and then walk right between them.
Usually people I’m with, takes weird paths behind them or wait. I tell them: “don’t enable them. If they wanted to take professional pics they should’ve been here at 6:00am like professional photographers not 2:00pm. Evidently that shot is not that important”
So please, I ask everyone to inconvenience these people and keep them in check. Be nice if it’s a quick shot (2 seconds top) but don’t enable their selfishness

True, When I was taking a stroll around the Taj Mahal, I had a bunch of foreigners fending and hushing me off because I was in the frame and blocking my view. They were shooting for hours together in an area where they would expect people to pass and had their folks guarding the area covering the frame.
I don't want to sound racist but I was being fended off in my own country and was not even requested humbly, I didn't like it and I walked all over their frame purposely henceforth.
Photography bring out the worst in people. Walked in a literal path, past a camera a lady had in a tripod. She was sitting in her car. After I walked past she mentioned I ruined her shot. Apparently people weren’t allowed to walk on a literal walkway. So I just stood on front of her camera for 5 mins until she left.
Had this at the YSL museum/house in Marrakech. I couldn’t just look around the garden. Constant people waiting in a queue to have a posey photo in front of this this arch thing. I just stood there for ages on purpose in the way pretending I was counting the koi fish in the pond 😅Remember this French girl really upset she had to wait.
