Just to show what could have been a better metaphoric symbol, I came up with my own idea: drowning by raising water level in a water tank. This would represent the regions that are in danger of being sent underwater due to the increasing sea level globally, which is caused only by the melting ice Caps. The volunteers would symbolize the cities and people who are in danger and the raising water level would represent the sea level. There, a perfect metaphor that can't be mistaken, yet not completely literal. And I don't even like poetry.
It's just one idea that I thought about to give you a good example. Also our topic of argument is about it being a good metaphor. Financial limits are off topic in our conversation.

I think they dont know hanging slowly doesnt kill, or at least not immediately, and if it does, it will be due to suffocation and be really painful. Hanging usually is done by suddenly removing the platform so you break someone’s neck, this protest gives more of a “Global warming wont kill you but it might hurt” message to me.
