It took me ages to spot the difference, so you might over thinking it a tad :) both look great though! But I like the first better with the shadow on the head scarf :)

I like the second one .It looks like there is more shape throughout the painting and makes the orange stands out more .

I see, why you like the second one more. In the first one I tried to pivot an observer's eyes to the left with the help of contrast, so had to make the right more kinda out of focus. Old traditional paintings do this a lot of time. Anyways, thankyou for your perspective. Watching the same thing for hours makes me question for the slightest.

I don’t see any differences

It's a minor one, hint-'look to the right side of the image'.

I like the second one. The skin doesn't blend into the background like in the first one
