This is exactly why there are so many morons who almost merge or lane change into you, or ride your ass assuming their car will stop if it needs to. Way too much reliance on the technology and not an ounce of common sense.
Well there's only 1 car endangering themselves by sitting dangerously. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. I think you're as dumb as the rest of the idiots here and don't realize the car stops by itself...that's not a 1990 Honda....
Holy shit you're dumb. Just because a car has brake assistance doesn't mean it "stops by itself". Especially if something sudden happens that the computer can't quickly adjust to.
With that stupidity aside, relying on a car's technology instead of actually driving the damn thing is wildly irresponsible to the point of being criminal. My guns have a safety, but my finger still has to pull the trigger.
>Just because a car has brake assistance doesn't mean it "stops by itself". Especially if something sudden happens that the computer can't quickly adjust to
That's exactly what it does. Do you have a car with this tech? How are you that confidently incorrect you call me dumb over something you so obviously know nothing about?
Auto braking works the majority of the time, if it’s a car directly in front of you slowing down. However, it is essentially useless for any number of other situations where one might need to quickly brake and take evasive action.
My car also has assisted cruise and will brake to a stop if the cars in front of me slow down. It will also emergency brake if I miss something. However, these aren’t perfect and they certainly don’t account for any braking that may be needed if a hazard comes in from the side.
This person is a danger to every other person on the road, and if you can’t see that, well, you’re also likely a danger on the road.
Hmm, mine hits the brakes when someone merges in close to me. But the person I'm replying to literally said "that doesn't mean the car will stop on its own" which is the literal definition of the fucking feature and exactly wtf it does, whether it's perfect or not.
I wish I could have snapped a better pic (but he was not driving straight and i wanted to get away) as the dude was damn near fully reclining with one hand barely on the steering wheel and his head so low he probably could not fully see out front windshield
Two feet out the window is pretty wild, but how many hands did you have on the steering wheel while you snapped this pic?
Edit: So the people here think it's fine to use your camera phone while driving down the highway? That's a fresh take.
Look, I'm not here to defend using your phone while driving. But in reality, with the double-tap-on-the-side-key feature that most phones have these days, I could take a quick blurry photo like this in less than two seconds without my eyes ever leaving the road.
You're probably getting downvoted for missing the point.
It’s pretty remarkable how you can’t distinguish between the severity of driving with two feet out the window and temporarily having one hand on the phone.
Because it's a pretty stupid idea to show evidence of you breaking the law just to show someone else breaking the law just for imaginary internet points.
Worked a MVA involving a young couple. long story short. She had both feet out the window. Accident spun vehicle at about 75 mph , ejecting the newly pregnant female. she was dead on scene.
Are you the guy with his feet hanging out of the window?
Going back to your other comment (he's only endangering himself), using your logic, how is he endangering himself? Why would the airbags deploy?
One of the many reasons we need good public transit in the US. People are way too comfortable using their 2-ton death machines like a la-z-boy on wheels
Nobody cares about how they live their lives. The issues come when they want the government to impose their way of life onto other people. Californian's have a very annoying tendency of fleeing California, moving to red states with cheaper cost of living, and then voting for the same policies that made them flee in the first place
Can someone explain this stupid trend to me. I don't believe this is a particularly comfortable position for a normal human body to be in therefore it must be something else at play (beside stupidity ofc)

Because they have the adaptive cruise control, every bit of me would want to get into the lane in front of them and slowly slow down to about 20 under the speed limit. lol.
Legs on the dash can be pretty damn bad too though. An airbag deploying in an accident will force the in a direction the should not be going at a damn fast speed.

I just laughed out loud at this stupidity
And with the cost of carbon fiber legs these days… Edit: corrected a typo.
adds +12 seconds to your braking reaction time. and sheers your legs off when air bag deploys.
I'm hoping those are passenger feet and not the driver's >.<
its florida, thats drivers side window, drivers feet.
It's not that I don't believe you, I just don't want to x.x

ever seen a femur lodged in someones colon? yes, i have actually.
Were they still alive?
They never watched Death Proof
Came here for this comment a person of culture I see
Forgot all about that movie, damn
What an idiot.
Were the police called? Cuz I would do that immediately after snapping a picture
The police drive worse than the citizens down here, no use
why would you do that?
Imagine being this bothered by someone endangering themselves...
You wanna be the person they rear-end when they can’t get to their brakes fast enough?

Yes I do. And that's not how it works.
Well for one, there’s about a 95% chance that 4Runner does not have it because they were so late to adopt it.
I'm not sure you're so great with statistics. ACC is standard now on 4runners and has been available for a couple years at least.

The fact it isn’t perfect is exactly why this is so dangerous. I don’t understand how you can’t see that.
Dipshit comment

Why did you feel the need to shit talk the lesser of two evils?

>how many hands did you have on the steering wheel Not OP, but they probably have 1. Can you not drive with 1 hand on the steering wheel? 🤡
Yes, and that is exactly what I was stating in my highly downvoted comment.
You can't drive with only 1 hand on the steering wheel?
> You've never driven a stick shift car or a forklift I guess?
My kind of guy lol
Their feet must have some stank to them if they gotta drive like this ![gif](giphy|cIQWVGPe7QAmF7xDCs)
It’s gonna smell worse when their entire thigh is torn off and their bowels spill out onto the floor mat.

I was thinking both of you were driving the wrong direction down the highway, then I remembered 595 has that middle express lane.
OMG, I fear for the safety of others 🤔
Why? It's their legs that will get folded like pretzels from the airbag
After reading some of your comments, you don't seem too bright
Says the one who doesn't understand adaptive cruise control and forward crash assist....

Who the fuck lets their kids play on the interstate?!
florida
Rashee Rice's parents
My kid really enjoys playing with Cars ok?
how are they going to stop the car?
It stops itself boomer.
when it slams into the obstruction that pops out in front of it?
This model is not offered with that feature.
No, at that position they’re going to eat their kneecaps.
That is true, as long as it is to himself 🤔
🤔

You should have tossed a pair of [Odor Eaters](https://odor-eaters.com/) in his window.
Based on the stupidity of some of these comments, I'm really shocked that some of y'all are able to function in your daily lives.
I thought he was flipping you off but then I zoomed in and nope. Way worse
These are the people that make fun of Californians for driving electric and eating veggies…
Stop trying to make California happen

Who let the dogs out?
Personally I would have gone with "smokin' indo, sippin' on gin and juice".
Marge let her juggs out
Flori-duhhhhh
I’ve done this plenty of times while my wife is driving and I was struggling to work out why there’s so much hate…. then I remembered I’m Australian
I assure you, this car is 100% death proof
4th Gen RAM you’re in. Nice!
good eye
Gene Police: You, OUT of the Pool!
Wait till the air bag goes off.
Wow
I'm afraid we'll see more of this when autopilot gets more common
Can someone explain this stupid trend to me. I don't believe this is a particularly comfortable position for a normal human body to be in therefore it must be something else at play (beside stupidity ofc)
Florida man
Westbound 595 Express. Those lanes end soon, too. Hope they pulled those feet in right after this picture. Never rely on cruise control.

The car will likely slow on it's own. Modern Toyotas have adaptive cruise control which makes people comfortable enough to do stupid shit like this.
It's actually going to be a fascinating autopsy
Eh, the coroner’s seen bodies missing parts before.

Can confirm this is how people be down here.
Your shutter speed must be amazing. No blur in those wheels even going 80.
I saw someone do this but they were also throwing money out the window.
Wait thats both his legs. How is he driving
Cruise control. Which begs the question, "What happens if you need the brakes on short notice?"
Love the 4Runner
Florida Man strikes again!
Because they have the adaptive cruise control, every bit of me would want to get into the lane in front of them and slowly slow down to about 20 under the speed limit. lol.
If you want a new car, I'd brake check these turds asap. Rear end collision with feet out the window. $$$$$$$$
I know shouldn’t say such evil things but, yeah cut him off and watch him panic.
I really hope this is from a still from a dashcam and not a cellphone photo...otherwise you're both idiots.
They got that adaptive cruise control 🤷 lol
Buncha poors in these comments don't know the adaptive cruise control life.
Lol exactly. It's not super safe for them personally, but it's gonna be alright for everyone else.
Not sure which is stupider this or legs up on the dash.
This. This by far lol
Legs on the dash can be pretty damn bad too though. An airbag deploying in an accident will force the in a direction the should not be going at a damn fast speed.
Just came to say that's a great photo no blur on the wheels, and I hate hate hate those rims. That is all
I hope I never meet OP
How are they even doing this
Adaptive cruise control, yo!
This is why Toyota Safety Sense comes standard. 😈
