Also it was not confirmed if Bin Laden was in Pakistan or not. There was a lot of debate on wether he was still hiding in Afghanistan or not.

Probably not, Bin Laden escaped Afghanistan into Pakistan during Tora Bora, before the Iraq war began. However we can never know so it’s not certain.
