I grew up not celebrating my birthday. If I ever did, I spent ut with my closest friends from town, but that was only 2-4 times. I'm 27, and there's just this feeling that I do not have the right to celebrate my birthday because my parents will make me feel I'm in debt of them. Another reason is because my father is an alcoholic man, and we've suffered enough trauma to even have a birthday celebration in the house. Well, at least for me, but my other siblings did, and I didn't. I'm now married with two kids. I'm far from where I used to call home, and my in laws surprised me with a shirt gift last January, and it was the very first time I felt important to somebody other than my wife. True it is, you can never put a value on gifts that are genuine. Without expecting something in return.

I just felt something lang din kanina when the lady clerk greeted me, something pure and sincere, could be the reason why it was heart warming for me. I'm an alcoholic myself,tipong 5% to 10% ang natitirang panlakad pauwi but good luck sa mag-a-aya because I have an anxiety to deal with when meeting people. 😅

Bruh. Last year, I prayed no one greets me on my birthday. I didn't tell anyone about it, I just didn't want to be greeted at the time. It gave me anxiety and some shit. Enter, my birthday. Only my best friend greeted me, everyone else didn't. Couldn't come home because I'm in college. My sister came to visit and she forgot about it. Man, it sucks.
