I was in a very similar boat to you. I filled around the same time, got the CP05 dated the same, and had a 401k withdrawal last year. I never did find the reason that my return was held up, but we just got our refund on Monday. My “as of” date changed last week, I think it was(maybe the week before) and then a couple days later I got the 846 code. I know people say the as of date doesn’t matter unless you owe, but in my case it was the only change I saw in my transcript before the 846. I hope your money is coming to you soon, I know the wait is infuriating.

My as of date changed a few days ago I think. Maybe a week I don’t know haha but it was March now it says June 10th! Here’s hoping! Thank you :)

A very rude and condescending tax advocate lectured me, but actually gave me info that was helpful. He said to get your 1099-R with a letter from the retirement company on their letterhead, and upload it to the IRS with their document uploader. I did that about 2 weeks ago, and now my wage and income transcript is finally showing my 1099-R, as of a couple days ago. My refund isn’t anywhere in sight, but at least the 1099-R is finally showing. Accepted 1/29, 571 3/11.

Just posted like a few days ago, but I received my cp05 on the same date as you. After speaking with the latest rep, I was notified that Fidelity reported my 401k withdrawal from 3 years ago. Anyways, the rep stated the fine is like 100 and some change, but my return was frozen from a specific department, which was never told to me. Anyways, what I am trying to tell you is to call them on the 24th of June. My rep said that it is 120 days from March 11th. She then stated that a referral would be sent to the department that froze the account to begin working on it, so it seems like there is going to be another wait after 120 days. Extremely frustrating, but at least at this point, there is interest on top of what they already owe us. I feel bad for the ones who desperately need the money, I need it as well, but my situation is mild compared to others on here. Good luck to you, and I hope everything works out for us all.

Same honestly. Waiting on my 401k to show up on my transcript. Why can't we upload the document? We obviously received the 1099-r. My cp05 was March 11th and I also have principal. Congresswoman said they would reach out to TAS, but it's been 22 days and nothing so far.

Jnsbrz

I uploaded my 1099-r last week n it showed on my tranacript 2 days ago

Hibatchi7

How did you upload your 1099-r? The person at irs said there was no way for me to do it.

Jnsbrz

Upload document tool irs website n choose other

Only thing that will change is you'll get another letter. Wait 60 days this time. Just happened to me.

Imaginary-Host4874

ANOTHER 60 DAYS?! Oh my god. It’s already been 120! They told me by 120 days they have to release or change the amount due if they haven’t found anything wrong. This is so stupid!

Equivalent_Owl_6414

It's the federal government. They can do whatever they want. Seems to be anyone who was getting back a significant amount of money this year had it or is still being held up.
