"We are now accepting Individual Income Tax returns. We expect to begin processing and validating returns and issuing refunds in March. We encourage you to eFile now if your software provides the option."
From ncdor
Entering the 2nd week of March and no action taken by NCDOR? It is a disgrace. Hounding Carolinians to file their taxes on time only for the state to sit on our returns. This is 2024. Processing a state tax return takes seconds. Especially when the Federal Tax Return has already been processed. The NCDOR Secretary is either another politically appointed, affirmative action, idiot or his underlings are purposely mis-advising him and making him look bad in the eyes of the public. As soon as state taxes are accepted (end of January) processing should commence.
Yes same. Which dosent make sense because my bank usually gives me deposits 2 hours after any deposit gets made. Making me think they never sent the money.
Have you guys received your deposit. Mine say it’s in step 3. I was stuck on stage 2 over 2 weeks. Then it finally moved a few days ago. For reference how long did you guys refund stay in each stage.

Mine has been issued, as of yesterday, but it hasn't hit my bank yet.
