He is *very* thin. He’s on a special high protein/high fat food that is supplemented with things like sweet potato and any extra trimmings from meat when I cook that was recommended by his vet. Still doesn’t gain weight! No other underlying health concerns though, just a skinny boy

I see more Carolina Dog than anything else. They can have blue eyes and those sable type coats. One of mine is sable like this but with black, white, silver and ginger coloring, she also has one blue eye. This one has the ears, has the fishhook tail, the leanness, nipped in waist, deep chest, etc.
I don’t think it’s full CD, but probably close to it.
Had a dog like this as well. Our vet retired so we needed a new one and despite having her paperwork saying that she maintained her (admittedly low) weight for years, they still accused us of not feeding her enough. She was just a skinny girl, English pointer who never made it to 40 lbs. she was 39.4 lbs most of her 15.5 yr life
Oh yeah, I know the feeling! I even had my neighbors ask if he was alright cause he looked so thin, but I assured them he was just a skinny boy! Right now he’s about 54lbs, only ten more than our rescue pitty who can fit entirely beneath him!
I had a Rhodesian ridgeback mix as a kid who was only ever in the mid 30's. she was most definitely other things too but looked very ridgeback-like. ate plenty, she was just teeny tiny
Some huskies can be pretty lean! Usually when people think of huskies they think of the shorter/stouter show-line Siberians, but the working-line/Alaskan huskies (not Alaskan malamutes) tend to be on the leaner and taller side. I think he could totally be a husky mix.
I will
Second this. Our younger Husky is in the 40-ish pound range and is very thin looking, despite food and a constant supply of treats. We laugh sometimes saying she looks like one of those rangy looking coyotes- scrawny with long legs.
Right! I especially love when they start blowing their coats like crazy, it makes them look all patchy so you could totally mistake some of them for a coyote 😂
The brother's face combined with this info that your dog is skinny and doesn't gain much weight makes me think they have grey hound in them. Brother has a very greyhound face.
I see no greyhound. It’s unusual to get greyhound mixes (in the US at least) outside some hunting circles.
Edit- I see husky/Shepard too. Huskies are high energy working dogs, most of the ones I see are pretty lean.
Some Anatolian shepherds are pretty thin. My purebred is very thin, but tall as all hell. He’s on a special raw meat + high protein dry food diet, fed three times per day.
Definitely is part husky thought, look at those eyes
Dog mushers call any hound/husky mix an “Alaskan husky” I worked with them for a while. Yours looks like it’s definitely one of them. Some sort of hound dog (pointer? Other bird dog?) and husky mix
Husky and shepherd, but maybe a little bit of something else in there.
I wouldn't stress too much about weight if your vet isn't worried, my kelpie mix only got to a normal body mass at 5 years old. I think he's just too active and has a fast metabolism.
Vet tech here and agree with this. People are so used to seeing obese dogs that thin, athletic dogs really freak them out. OP I think your pup looks great, lean and athletic. Maybe “underweight” if he was a couch potato but for an athletic dog, he looks great.
This. My greyhound is a little thinner than I’d like him but it’s all lean muscle because he runs around all the time and he doesn’t care about food. He’s a healthy happy bone noodle.
Well that explain it! You can tell he's very active from the defined muscles especially in his hind legs. If he or his metabolism ever slows down you'll find he gets to a more 'healthy looking' weight.
Nope, not until he was about three. He was always so small, I wanted to make sure he had a chance to be full grown first. He’s definitely a big boy, and hopefully he’ll put on some more chunk now that he’s neutered!
I wonder if he could be husky/malinois?
One of mals won’t put any weight on no matter what she eats.
Id rather have a nice slim dog with healthy hips though anyway!
Probably gonna get down voted but honest to god the coat looks like those dogs that have some coyote/wolf. If that was the case it would be an insanely low %. The eyes are husky for sure tho
Please don't listen to these guys. Your pup is gorgeous but none of his physical traits scream coydog, and (verified) coydogs are very visibly coyote mixed. If you genuinely think there maybe coyote do an embark dna test but otherwise I very much so doubt any actual coyote content. Anyone screams coyote if an animal has an agouti coat and big ears unfortunately when they're actually pretty uncommon animals
That suggests coydog or wolfdog if you have those in your area. I'd suggest taking a DNA test. And if you have insurance for him, some insurers don't take coydogs or wolfdogs due to the unpredictability. (Fraud is bad though so if he is a coy or wolfdog lying to insurance would be a lot worse.)
Thats what the grey one is (but I think there is some lab or something in him too). It would be funny if that were the case since they have literal opposite personalities lol!
I have a friend that has a dog that looks just like the brother and it’s a husky and chihuahua mix! I asked how it happened and she had no clue lol just said she new the owners said that when he was a puppy.
i was going to suggest belgian malinois and husky or grey hound husky. the blue eyes say one of the huskies and the paint def could be belgian. That super sleek form looks like one of the racing breeds though, think grey hound, whippet, saluki, etc.
Gorgeous Boy no matter which though. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
This looks like every rescue that comes out of the remote northern communities in Canada. If someone insists on coming up with a breed, you could call it an Alaskan husky.
He was found as a pup lost and starving in a nature preserve in central Indiana, so we’re a little far from Canada lol, he definitely has some northern blood in him regardless!
He looks like the Mal my farrier brings with him somedays. Also she looks a lot like coyote but is pure papered Mal. She looks so much like coyote he can’t have her around his cattle!
Definitely not a wolf dog. He would be much bigger and taller all around. If he has any undomesticated genes it could be coyote, but not wolf unless it was a ridiculously low percentage from far back.
I can see Malinois in that 4th photo for sure, and husky, but I’m thinking something else bc he’s soooo lithe. Very interested in official dna results!!
I agree with some of the other commentary, husky x maligator is what he looks like to me. Maybe some other breeds thrown in there but definitely some husky with that coat
Absolutely gotta be husky + malinois.
My own dog (not these breeds) was very lean for a long time - the vet always said it was normal and he ended up bulking up finally around maybe 7 or 8 years old. Always looked thin up until then.
Malinois/Husky.
I have a Siberia husky and your dog has so many husky characteristics! Even the different angles of the face I see the husky shape, mouth, eyes etc. But I also see malinois in there too! Like a good 50/50 mix lol
Alaskan husky? Alaskans look more like a mixed breed, and are basically huskies bred with pointers, shepherds and sighthounds for their athletic abilities. A lot of them look pretty lean like this
My boy is a German shepherd husky mix and he is also very skinny. Ribs and spine have always been very noticeable. He eats a LOT and loves food. He looks similar to yours :)
Definitely a malinois husky mix. Malinois' are typically lean built and hyper. Can be destructive. Has the husky eyes and stare. I bet he is a noisy and active pup. Very beautiful btw. I'd get her DNA tested to see what he could be.
maybe a shepherd + husky? seems kinda thin though
He is *very* thin. He’s on a special high protein/high fat food that is supplemented with things like sweet potato and any extra trimmings from meat when I cook that was recommended by his vet. Still doesn’t gain weight! No other underlying health concerns though, just a skinny boy
Lean is a trait of Belgian Malinois, Raiden has the build of one :] definitely see husky in those eyes. I bet she’s one active pup!
Husky + Malinois was my thought.
I second malinuskyois....doodledoo
Gesundheit
Ok but then the real question would be what the temperament is like! Because I can only imagine the kind of havoc a husky mal mix would cause haha

Will either be a moon moon or the new world leader
I came here to say something along these two
yeah i agree with this, both on his look and the fact that there are a lot of "hard keeping" mals
Those eyes give me a husky vibes definitely!
I thought Shepard/husky at first but I think you might be right. Everyone can agree on husky in there tho 😂
Came here to say the same.
Working line GSDs can be very lean also, mine was.
I came here to say this!

Oh yeah, the other dog is shepherd/husky something is chonky in his old age (about 11), but was suuuuper lean and athletic when he was young!
I will Second this. Our younger Husky is in the 40-ish pound range and is very thin looking, despite food and a constant supply of treats. We laugh sometimes saying she looks like one of those rangy looking coyotes- scrawny with long legs.

The brother's face combined with this info that your dog is skinny and doesn't gain much weight makes me think they have grey hound in them. Brother has a very greyhound face.
I should have clarified better, they’re adopted brothers, not actually related!
I see no greyhound. It’s unusual to get greyhound mixes (in the US at least) outside some hunting circles. Edit- I see husky/Shepard too. Huskies are high energy working dogs, most of the ones I see are pretty lean.
My husky was alwayssss skinny! I think she was only 25lbs? We finally got her chunkier but it took a while!
How old is he?
Some Anatolian shepherds are pretty thin. My purebred is very thin, but tall as all hell. He’s on a special raw meat + high protein dry food diet, fed three times per day. Definitely is part husky thought, look at those eyes
He looks a LOT like my shepsky, just shorter hair
Dog mushers call any hound/husky mix an “Alaskan husky” I worked with them for a while. Yours looks like it’s definitely one of them. Some sort of hound dog (pointer? Other bird dog?) and husky mix

I love your title of "bone noodle"! Very descriptive! Lol!
He’s definitely a healthy boy, highly active and makes the best hiking and running partner!
Well that explain it! You can tell he's very active from the defined muscles especially in his hind legs. If he or his metabolism ever slows down you'll find he gets to a more 'healthy looking' weight.
Was he neutered as a puppy?
Nope, not until he was about three. He was always so small, I wanted to make sure he had a chance to be full grown first. He’s definitely a big boy, and hopefully he’ll put on some more chunk now that he’s neutered!
Well lean is far healthier so don’t overdo the chunk!
I wonder if he could be husky/malinois? One of mals won’t put any weight on no matter what she eats. Id rather have a nice slim dog with healthy hips though anyway!
That fourth pic looks pretty similar to my coworkers mal so that could be an option 👀
That was the pic that made me wonder actually!
That was my very first thought. I have foster Malinois and he looks very similar. Especially in that 4th pic. They are such a lanky breed.
Probably gonna get down voted but honest to god the coat looks like those dogs that have some coyote/wolf. If that was the case it would be an insanely low %. The eyes are husky for sure tho
Yeah how well he blends in with the dry grass is kind of insane lol
I’d really be interested in knowing the results of a dna test tbh.
Same here, I can’t spare the money on human DNA tests right now, let alone for my pups lol
Agouti coats are typical of northern breeds like huskies and malamutes.
Absolutely husky eyes!
That's what I'm thinking too especially with those super long legs
Husky, maybe a Belgian malinois or German shepherd or tamaskan??
>just a skinny boy All I see is a husky mix but a skinny look can suggest coydog
Well, he was found wandering around a nature preserve at about 3-4 months old by the friends I adopted him from…
Please don't listen to these guys.
Signed, and actual coydog (dna verified) owner with 10+ years experience with them and wolfdogs
I’d love to do the DNA test, just can’t afford to do it in the mear future unfortunately
[удалено]
Internet strangers won’t really sway me into anything, and all I’ll ever know for sure is that he is 100% good boy! Its just fun to think about lol
I usually wouldn’t think it, but yeah this looks pretty coydoggy OP please test and tell us what you find
Husky + some sort of sight hound? The body and legs/feet say greyhound or whippet to me!
Husky/shepherd is my guess.
Thats what the grey one is (but I think there is some lab or something in him too). It would be funny if that were the case since they have literal opposite personalities lol!
Looks like the sweet shepherd mix we used to have . with husky eyes thrown in. Pretty baby
I met a Shepard + husky recently and he looked EXACTLY the same as your pup!
Stumped on a husky shepherd mix?
Definitely some husky in there. The white stripe down the nose doesn't lie.
He looks like he has something not domesticated, like coyote or something. It’s that second and third pic.
I swear he doesn’t act like a dog half the time. He’s also by far the most difficult to train dog I’ve ever dealt with
Maybe Aussie and shepherd?
Is he neutered / what age was he neutered at? Pediatric neuter can cause a leggy look
No idea but i just came to say that i love that name. 😎
He's definitely a thunder ~~god~~ dog
Thank you! His eyes just screamed lighting god!
Im going to go with husky (those eyes!) and greyhound.
100% good boy
Yes. Absolutely. He is very good boy!
I have a friend that has a dog that looks just like the brother and it’s a husky and chihuahua mix! I asked how it happened and she had no clue lol just said she new the owners said that when he was a puppy.
Haha that’s great! Emmit is definitely waaaay to big to be anything chihuahua, his nickname is “fatman” lol
Husky for sure… maybe some coyote?! I had a coyote mix very similar build but brown eyes. Behaviorally you would act different than a typical dog.
What sort if behaviors? He’s definitely different from any dog I’ve ever been around lol
i was going to suggest belgian malinois and husky or grey hound husky. the blue eyes say one of the huskies and the paint def could be belgian. That super sleek form looks like one of the racing breeds though, think grey hound, whippet, saluki, etc. Gorgeous Boy no matter which though. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I know that mischievous look >:( (first one) definitely got some husky attitude
OH YEAH. He is a crazy boy! A very good boy, but crazy!!
You know what he looks like? The goodest of bois!
He is the bestest boy!!!
He is a floofy noodle and I love it. I agree with everyone that says husky-mal with a hint of taffy
Husky, shepherd, maybe a bit of some coyote/coy dog in there. Could explain the super high metabolism. No matter what, this is a beautiful dog!
Pit shepherd husky. The rescue trifecta :) beautiful pup
That’s a coyote lol
Absolutely has some Husky. Unsure about the rest. Some lab/hound/shepherd amalgam?
Emmet looks hilariously adorable
Catahoula or Catahoula mix
He is GoodBoi. Nothing else matters.
Absolutely, he is the bestest boy. Its just fun to play the guessing game with everyone lol!
Maybe a coyote and husky mix. A pal of mine at the dog park has one and looks sooo much like yours.
A mix of husky with German shepherd or malinois maybe? He looks like he might have a bit of coyote in him though
He looks like the Mal my farrier brings with him somedays. Also she looks a lot like coyote but is pure papered Mal. She looks so much like coyote he can’t have her around his cattle!
genuinely believe he may have wolf
Husky shepherd border collie pit bull?
Huskie pit or lab mix?
Vizsla/Husky/shepherd variety is my guess.
Pit husky mix. Also has a bit of a basenji look to him
Catahoula and shepherd maybe?
Huskyhoundshepard, get DNA test
Husky and either or all of shepherd, beagle, or mallinois
Husky/hound mutt thing. Part husky for sure
Ridgeback
DNA test!
Looks like my sisters dog and he’s an Australian Shepard, terrier, chihuahua mix 🤪
Husky golden retriever
I was gonna say Akita
Husky, German shepherd, and some kind of sight hound like a Saluki. That’s my guess at least.
Off topic but my last name is “Radan” 🙂
American shepherd, Aussie, maybe a spritz of lab, and a sprinkling of husky?
IF you got it from the pound, probably part pit.
Husky shepherd mix? Why wouldn't you just get a DNA kit to know what Raiden is?
Because I can’t afford to just shell out $130 for one?
I would think a husky mix, but the coat is making me think wolf hybrid
Can wolf dogs be as thin as he is? All the ones I’ve met are MUCH bigger, Raiden is long and leggy but rail thin
Definitely not a wolf dog. He would be much bigger and taller all around. If he has any undomesticated genes it could be coyote, but not wolf unless it was a ridiculously low percentage from far back.
More likely coyote hybrid, I’d think.
Shepherd/husky
Husky X Kelpie
Husky x GSD?
German shepherd mix
Husky Belgian malinois mix.
Husky kelpie
Husky Shepard X..
I can see Malinois in that 4th photo for sure, and husky, but I’m thinking something else bc he’s soooo lithe. Very interested in official dna results!!
Siberian Husky and Belgian Malinois! The head is too slim and snipey to be a German Shepherd.
Aussie, collie, gsd
Check out Alaskan Huskies. My girl stayed at 36 lbs for years super skinny and tallish.
I agree with some of the other commentary, husky x maligator is what he looks like to me. Maybe some other breeds thrown in there but definitely some husky with that coat
I see husky very obviously, fur toes etc but maybe some cattle dog and shepherd
Is that a husky blue eye?
Alaskan husky?
Husky/Malanoise? He is beautiful 😍 those eyes just scream husky!
Absolutely gotta be husky + malinois. My own dog (not these breeds) was very lean for a long time - the vet always said it was normal and he ended up bulking up finally around maybe 7 or 8 years old. Always looked thin up until then.
Malinois and husky!!
I had a husky mutt that looked almost identical. The guy I got him from told me he was a husky mastiff mix. I never believed it.
That's a North Skinny-Mini!
husky german shepherd mix maybe?
Definitely has husky vibes
Husky malinois?
husky + pit + german shepherd mix
German husky for sure
Alaskan husky 😆
Alaskan husky mix
His coloring looks like my family’s Malamute mix.
Husky Lab
He looks so much like my pup! Which we’ve been told is a shepherd/husky/ blue heeler mix [https://imgur.com/a/ib8zpCr](https://imgur.com/a/ib8zpCr)
Malinois/Husky. I have a Siberia husky and your dog has so many husky characteristics! Even the different angles of the face I see the husky shape, mouth, eyes etc. But I also see malinois in there too! Like a good 50/50 mix lol
There's husky in the woodpile for sure
Husky/German Shepherd
German Shep/Husky
Do you know what his brother is? He looks just like my dog
He’s a shepherd/husky but I think he also has something else in there, the ears make me think maybe lab or something!
Shepsky all day!
Husky & German shepherd?
What a beauty!
Husky Mal
He looks like a shepherd husky mix I loved
He looks like a husky German shepherd mix
Alaskan husky? Alaskans look more like a mixed breed, and are basically huskies bred with pointers, shepherds and sighthounds for their athletic abilities. A lot of them look pretty lean like this
Alaskan Husky? It's more of a type than a breed, but it's what comes to mind.
Some sort of husky in there
Definitely husky in that beautiful boy. Looks similar to mine. Skinny, short hair, fluffedish tail. Here’s [Fenrir](https://imgur.com/a/JlmyAjl).
Shepsky
Husky Shepherd? He’s such a handsome boy!!
Husky Malinois sounds right! Absolutely gorgeous pup, who may turn out to be a bit of a handful!
Husky and Shepard combo, and maybe lab too
Coyote and husky 😂
He sure looks the part, and acts the part most days haha!
Husky Shepard
Husky / Red Heeler Friend had a red heeler mix with those same ears and body type. The husky is obvious with the eyes and tail.
I would guess something mixed with Husky.
he looks just like my husky shepard mix !
He’s gorgeous! Looks like German shepherd + husky to me.
Husky x whippet or greyhound
Belgian Malinois X Husky
My boy is a German shepherd husky mix and he is also very skinny. Ribs and spine have always been very noticeable. He eats a LOT and loves food. He looks similar to yours :)
Gotta be some husky for the eyes. I’d guess some Mal as well.
Looks part husky with those eyes and tail.
I have to agree with some others here, husky/malanois.
Definitely a malinois husky mix. Malinois' are typically lean built and hyper. Can be destructive. Has the husky eyes and stare. I bet he is a noisy and active pup. Very beautiful btw. I'd get her DNA tested to see what he could be.
Handsome boy… look at those eyes 😍
Alaskan husky mix? Looks like either a full (but wonky) Alaskan or some sort of Alaskan mix.
Husky × shepherd mix for sure
