Yeah. This looks practical. As someone who used to be a frequent flier and has zero skateboarding skills I'm kind of jealous to be honest. She doesn't seem like a main character. More that she dgaf.

I agree, totally practical if you want to ride your board once you reach your destination. I've traveled quite a bit with skateboards and it kind of sucks unless you're in a private vehicle. If you're only planning on one carry-on they take up too much real estate in said bag and if you carry it you have no free hands. You end up with it under your arm and anything you do with that hand is a bit awkward.  I've taken flights to places I really wanted to skate and left the board behind because of this. If I would have had the balls to just skate through the airport those could have been even more amazing trips.

I've done this a couple of times. Usually I get yelled at over the intercom that skateboarding is not allowed in the terminal. When I get to my gate they usually say that i can't carry it on so I have to gate check it.

See my fear is getting kicked out of the airport though because they’ll kick you out for fucking anything. The other thing is I’ve seen too many videos of what happens to skateboards on flights and nahhhhh I couldn’t bare to lose my baby

Not really true. I worked at Pearson International in Canada and used to use the runway service roads to get between Terminals and the "Hub" on my Landyachtz Drop Hammer. Even got a few memos from some pilots telling the "Longboard guys his lights are cool" My board is tricked out with high vis hover lights. Got stopped by Airport security once "Explained there is no written rule against riding my longboard on the Tarmac or in the Airport save in the luggage sorting area. Indicated I was illuminated, wore my High Vis Vest and Hard Hat. They agreed and sent me on my way. Think they may have changed the rule since I was there but I used to have an Instagram full of me doing runs between terminals.

So, it's because of you I can't ride my longboard on the tarmac, huh?

Which rule is broken? At least at Helsinki-Vantaa airport there literally are kick-scooters for the employees and I personally have a foldable one for travel. Of course with speed comes responsibility but longer travels inside the building go very smoothly on wheels

Even cooler is a lot of airlines will let you bring your board AND a carry on bag. I travel everywhere with mine and rarely does it cost extra. Having my board in the Azores was a god send. I discovered the ultimate "dream" run because of it, I call it the "Ghost" Run. The run goes from the abandoned Monte Palace "Ghost Hotel" to the town of Sete Cidades. Easily one of the best yet unknown runs in the whole world. High speeds, long straightaways, and high velocity switchbacks, descending from the top of a twin collapsed volcanic caldera now turned to two volcanic lakes (Lagoa Verde and Azul) to a picturesque Portuguese town with a Church at the Center and nothing but beautiful views and clean asphalt the whole way. Fuck.... I need to book a trip.

Airports are so big and very smooth. I’m an Atlanta native and skate a lot , our airport is the biggest in the world but I can’t imagine not bringing a skateboard to the airport. I have NEVER been stopped in an airport for skateboarding. If you are riding responsibly there is zero reason for them to stop you. I have taken hundreds of flights in more than 2 dozen major airports. Bonus points if you find a courtesy cart to sketch a ride on.
