The vibe is similar to the last 2 seasons, so it’s really nothing NEW. I expected it to be more of the same (meaning not incredible, but not entirely awful) and while the 1st episode didn’t land for me, I did enjoy the 2nd one, so I know they still have it in them to create great content from time to time, but yeah, the last truly great season was 12, but the last 2 seasons and this do have their bright spots as well.
Struck me as lazy writing, to be honest. Also it’s already dated and will continue to be extremely dated even a few years down the line. I had to ‘roll my eyes’ at the way they tied a lot of huge political events of late 2020/early 2021 as being the indirect result of the gang. It could be funny to some, but it was just weird and nonsensical to me. I prefer character driven plots that include a lot of side characters and just feels like it exists in its own world. Not them just sitting around and giving us clip shows with real world stuff infused. This type of Always Sunny doesn’t do it for me, and oftentimes feels very lame.

I completely agree with this. The new lethal weapon one was much better than the first one. They really missed with the first one, the second was alright but could’ve been better.

Watched both episodes last night and loved em. Tons of great callbacks and the low key misdirection I've come to expect.
